  • How To Clip A Horse That's Scared Of Clippers | In this video I am going to show you how to clip your horse if he is an anxious horse. Clipping a horse is done for many reasons, I clip my horse's so that when they are working in the winter they do not get too hot and then cold due to a thick wet coat. If you clip your horse then you have the responsibility to manage his warmth and comfort. He should be rugged when it is cold in an appropriate manner so that he does not suffer.
Wiggins, the horse we are clipping, has Cushing's so we are making his life more comfortable by taking off his coat for the summer.

The steps in this video remain the same but how anxious your horse is decides how long it takes for him to be comfortable being clipped. Take the time it takes for him and you won't ever have a problem clipping him. ✂✂✂

My old mare has PPID. We have an exceptionally hot spring up here in the PNW of the US. I've never body clipped her before, but thankfully she took it like a champ, and seemed so happy to get all that insane fur off of her.

Very cheerful explanation put a smile on my face 😊 . To actually clip my horse myself however is another matter because he came to me requiring sedation to be clipped so we have a way to go!

Thank you for another great 👍 video. Do you clip ears and tails as per show horse riders or is dressage presentation beautifully groomed yet more natural? Id love to know.

I don’t clip ears and I don’t do the tails but I will use my mane rake ( you can see that in my mane pulling video) to thin out the top of the tail a bit for a sleeker finish. 😊
