I hope Chaotic doesn't mind me posting this here, but TL;DR of their story since some ppl wanna know since the last one. (3 chapters on my tumblr btw)
Reid and Lyra are the last of their squad and being overpowered by the enemy. Reid was ready to try and give Lyra a way out but was stopped by divine intervention. It wasn't his time to go so he was possessed, killed a sh*tton of enemies, got knocked out by a blast losing his left eye and left leg (yeah I drew the leg on the wrong side). Lyra saw this as a sign, took him under her wing after heavy investigation back on the ship, and now he's in the Inquisition with her. They start to develop feelings and fall in love.
In this story, Reid is 30 and Lyra is 29. My husband, who is the hardcore 40k nerd and I love him, goes "I need more. Plz." So there you go. To anyone who wishes to know.

Most out of character kriegsmen. And it's not even about being in a relationship, thus having a reason to live besides to die for the glory of the emperor. No, it's about PROTESTING against his leg being used as a weapon against the heretical enemies of the Imperium. A true loyalist and kriegsman would jump at the opportunity of having their bodies used as a weapon for the glory of mankind (that is, if they still had both legs and one of their legs wasn't currently used to deal righteous vengeance against the enemies of man)

The Moment
In that moment the world changed.

Everything was a bit off, a bit askew. Colors became bleak, air became cold. The last specs of hope crumbling in our hearts, the taste of blood and ash in our mouths. Our father's duty now ours, to give everything and hold nothing back. And when we are spent, give even more, for love. Our fathers love, burning, begging, demanding. So we break the shackles and give ourselves to the rage.
Burn! Burn bright! Burn hot! To fight and kill is our fate and duty! Even when we are burned to ash we will choke and blind our enemies. And when there is nothing else to burn, ignite our souls to burn one last time for just a moment, that moment… Father, we are here with you at that moment… We are here for you… HORUS! WE. COME. FOR. YOU!
And in that moment we fulfill our duty…
... I think the Kriegsman's reaction would be a little different. Something along the lines of "So half those kills were mine right? It was my leg you were using the bludgeon them to death with."
