Christa thank you I'll use my buffet with my retinol and my buffet with copper peptides in the morning .The only thing I don't like with the buffet with copper peptides is it doesn't mix with alot of products.
I find the Ordinary Matrixl doesn't need to be in my every day routine, but is vital when wearing makeup, particularly in my under eye area. I use it before an eye cream, then eye makeup primer, then under eye concealer. This combo results in absolutely no expression lines after many hours of wearing makeup and smiling lots. Without the matrixl, no matter what I do, after a few hours you can see my smile lines around my eyes even when I'm no longer smiling.
Hey!:) I wonder if Matrixyl 3000 ingredient is quite better proven than other peptides, isn't it better to use Matrixyl brecause we know it has 10% concentration? I cannot find the concentration of Matrixyk in Buffet? What are your thoughts of it?:)
So happy I found you! I watch a lot of skin type videos, but your straightforward approach with all the great information is sooo appreciated. One question: may I have your skin please?

Adapalene is a retinoid, and there isn't a contradiction between matrixyl and retinoids; so there is no reason they can't be in the same routine together (unless for some reason you experience irritation). Hope this helps! 💛
I bought this with no expectations. I have been using it about two weeks, so short term results are all I can comment on. Great hydration and “skin plumping” effect. I do use aha/bha and a 1% retinol and Vitamin C serum but generally wait between applications, and the retinol is in the pm and the Vit C in the am. Bha daily and aha a couple times a week. My last step is the Buffet followed by SPF 50 in the morning. I will repurchase this product for sure.
I actually like pairing my peptides with my retinoid (I use Retinal, not tretinoin, but still - they pair nicely together). The Ordinary doesn't recommend mixing their peptides in the same routine as pure l-ascorbic acid.
Great videos! I have never tried these products. I was thinking of buying the Buffet with Copper or the Matrixyl/Argireline scheme. I saw you said something about hair growth, which I don't want, plus I have oily skin. So, for my wrinkles and plumping, which would u advise me to buy from the above 2 choices? Thank u!
It's so hard to choose! I really love all of the products. I use the matrixyl/argireline as of late, together with my retinol on one evening, and then alternate nights with a copper peptide (no retinol) in my evening routine. I just think there are so many great anti-aging benefits from the copper peptides; so I guess that is my round about answer lol! I haven't had any negative experience from the buffet, but I think some people with oily/acne-prone skin do prefer the copper petides. Hope this helps!
I have been mixing my Drunk Elephant C-Firma, my Drunk Elephant B5 and my Ordinary Buffet +Copper peptides together in my hand and applying before moisturizer in my morning routine. I use Retin-A .1% followed by evening moisturizer in my evening routine. Is this bad?
All sounds lovely except - The Ordinary doesn't recommend mixing their copper peptide serum with vitamin c, retinoids, direct acids or antioxidants. Not that it is going to cause irritation in the skin, but as I understand it - it can make the copper peptide less effective. That is why I keep my routine very simple when using a copper peptide, cleanse, copper peptide, moisturizer (sunscreen if using in the AM). Personally I alternate my retinoid with copper peptide every other night, but that is also because my skin can't really tolerate a retinoid every night! I hope this helps 💛
@christaEvelyn Thank you for this - so helpful! You reference serums in your general routine, but separately reference Vitamin C ... can you clarify what specific serums beyond the Buffet you use and how frequently? Would also love a video on your preference for makeup - yours is lovely and definitely completes the polished, hydrated look!
My most recent video is my (attempt) at sharing my makeup routine 😉. As for vitamin c - it is my go to serum in my morning skincare routine because as an antioxidant - it works great to protect my skin from environmental stressors, and as well it has been shown to boost the effectiveness of sunscreen when used together :). It is probably about time I did a new vitamin c video, but I have done one dedicated video to vitamin c that you can find on my page as well :)
@@ChristaEvelyn So helpful - thank you!! Don't know how I missed the makeup video!! I'll also look to see if you actually use Retinol, which I was hoping to avoid in my routine, but I'm much older than you, so maybe ...

The research isn't solid on peptides, but I feel like I have seen good results using them. At the very least, they are hydrating, and that in turn also helps to smooth out my fine lines and wrinkles. I typically apply my products from thinnest to thickest consistency, but I always try to apply my HA to damp skin to get the most out of it. Hope this helps!

I would agree with you that the combo of matrixyl & Argireline are great together. I apply matrixyl first then use Argireline on my targeted areas, but I really don’t think it makes a difference of which one you use first! I like the buffet as an all in one serum. Great for travelling, and just an overall great serum - but if you already have the other 2 - you really don’t need to add the buffet in as well!
