"Together we had real power"... that is an understatement. The World is not as sweet as it was with Phil and Don Everly in it.

Good History video of my Kentucky boys (even though technically Phil was born in my hometown, ChiTown, but I know his roots are still Kentucky) I was so sorry they had split, and Sweet Phil explained that whole ordeal so eloquently.....I know he was happy they reunited, and I know Don was going thru some deep, dark personal issues up to and during part of the split......"Tough times never last, do they baby" and I love you both for recognizing your issues and dealt with them.....God Bless You for that because I, for one, have always loved you thru good times and the bad times. RIP dear sweet Phil....

It is not only "the real power" . Ithink it's the family. They learrned it since they was born. It takes two.
    And that's mystic also

There is also an A/E bio on the boys that is quite revealing as well. The part here where Don talks about him picking on Phil was in Sidney and Don was actually quite brutal that night and offers a sliver of what led to the break up. Their grueling touring schedule led to Don just not wanting to do it any more and his drinking was a coping method. He has talked about the fact it was he who suggested they not talk and that their time apart allowed them to find themselves as individuals. it us quite fascinating that evven though brothers two such different personalities were able to come together to give us some of the greatest music which we will always have.

Phil Everly at the 6:46 mark: “People have paid their money, they’ve hired their babysitter, they have driven to this place. They have got an invested interest in you doing your job right”. Unfortunately, Phil didn't seem to care about all of these people who were arriving to see the last two shows that evening, when he left and drove home. At least Don was there, he got sober and did the last two shows on his own (because Phil was at home being angry), making sure that the people who had hired a babysitter and bought tickets didn't have to go home empty handed. But oddly enought, we always just hear about Don being drunk in the first show. We very rarely hear about Don actually pulling himself together and doing the last two shows. If Phil had not left the venue, but instead had just given Don a roasting backstage, they could have done the last two shows together before going their seperate ways as planned, and the press and the fans wouldn't have talked about this evening for decades. Phil ran away when things got difficult and embarrassing. Don owed up to his mistake, apologized and tried to make up for it. I respect that.

Maybe ther epersonal life was less harmony, but they for sure brought the perfect harmonies ever to the stage. Dentistdrills to my eardrums...

Really surprising that people criticise Don for “picking on poor Phil” during their on stage act. For goodness sake, it was a rehearsed comedy routine. Needless to say, Phil knew all about it beforehand. It wasn’t like Don had a go at Phil on the spot.
As far as them not getting on off-stage, that was certainly true to one extent or another. They had different personalities - Phil extrovert, Don introvert for starters. But even then, it was nothing to do with Don picking on Phil. They just argued about a lot of stuff - six of one, half a dozen of the other.

What an interesting video about the time the two Brothers did not go so well between them.... I think Don was more under pressure in that time than Phil. And Phil did better than Don by that time musically speaking. I found his solo albums better than Don's despite the fact that I like Don's voice more than Phil's.... But they should sing together ... which they did finally.....
