I am 73, a Pakistani American for over 53 years always maintained that the British defeated Congress, particularly Gandhi in keeping greater India and its people together. Unfortunately, the real losers ended up being the people who trusted Muslim League and Islamic parties. Pakistani have been in a real hostages by its worst than British Raj ruling elite; Pakistan Army practically playing the role of, Ghaznavi, Ghori, Abdali , Nader Shahi armies. The strategic location of Pakistan is actually a curse for the people because the foreign powers exploit the corrupt army and Pakistanis always loose.
Sir, the creation of Pakistan is a blessing in disguise for the Indian state because it separated the Islamic state as an identity from the general Indian secular population, freeing the new Indian state from decades of confused identity and infighting, notwithstanding the current political climate of India.

Regrettably, it's a harsh reality. As an ordinary Pakistani, I wholeheartedly concur with your analysis. While the army perceives itself as the guardian of the nation, in truth, it has become Pakistan's foremost adversary.
Well said. As a Pakistani I agree with you Mr.gupta.
I haven't seen a more sound and to the point analysis on Pakistan Army in so few words. Hats off.
On last Sunday he praised same Army for being the one who is rational for keeping Mr.IK at bay as IK was Islamist (he is not), Anti Indian populist and so much more, and for him sense must prevail and Army was prevailing it, on this Sunday he is beating another drum. Check the track record
@@yeppie295 Thanks for highlighting that SG is nuanced in his views, and can consider alternate perspectives that defy simple narratives.
The reason why the Pakistani Army is both formidable yet pathetic at the same time.
In terms of success in war, the Pakistan Military has never won a single war. Pakistan has also used its army like a mercenary for other nations.
However, the Pakistani army has been very successful in subduing it's own citizens and convincing it's own citizens to not raise their voices against the Pakistan army.
In short,
The Pakistan 🇵🇰 army has never won a war against another nation...
The Pakistan 🇵🇰 army has never lost a single election against its own people.

@@legendaryhound5261 No. Pakistan didn’t get any territory from India in 1948.
Quick history primer: Pakistan violated the standstill agreement with princely state of JK. They did so by infiltrating regular troops in civilian dress. They hoodwinked the local population by telling them they were protecting the area from post partition violence in Punjab.
When the maharaja got wind of this, he requested Indias help. India refused to deploy troops since JK wasn’t part of India by then. At that point the maharaja signed the instrument of accession. India airdropped troops into Srinagar after that. The rest is history.
Formidable army which lost Bangladesh in 7 days and 93000 surrendered to save their lives… 😅

These comparisons can be distorted by currency strength even if growth in one's own currency is different. .5 indian rupees = 1 Pakistani in 2019, now it is .3. so had the countries grown at the same rate, Pakistan's numbers would still decrease by 40%. Shekhar, when it comes to Pakistan, you are the best critique.
Pakistan army has not been really tested in battlefield. In East Pakistan it knew it was pointless putting up a fight.
It rules the Punjabi Mussalman’s heart because of demography. Punjab’s population is 60-65% of the country and Punjabi Mussalman representation in the army is 65-70%. Both really overwhelming statistics. So, when the Punjabi Mussalman army takes a decision, it knows that the most populous community is with it. Other states do not count. A Punjabi Mussalman knows in his heart that the army is the only outfit that can ensure the safety and integrity of Pakistan.
Hence, its repeated interventions in domestic politics and external affairs with no one to challenge it.
Pakistan never had a fair election. Pakistani Military always determines the outcome of the election, before the election.

All junctions be it the Balkans, the Caucus, the Khyber, the Turk, the Punjab have always been fighting since the start of civilization... The people of these regions think of themselves as the Marshall race, superior in comparison to others, etc. However as the world modernizes, as the weapons modernize we actually need workers, thinkers, entrepreneurs and not barbaric fighters... The sooner Punjabis understand this it's good for them else they'll be left behind...
Very sound thoughts 🤙
Any army meddling in politics will always be a failure and bound to drown. So is Pak army! Now that they have managed to nurture all sorts of 'jihadis' around them, the whole region is really trapped.
Jihadis were always there. It used to be called Muslim Guards pre-partition.
The idea that as a reporter, telling the positives attributes of a hostile neighbour will rile up the public so much that you would have to go into hiding is something that we as a nation needs to introspect.
As we develop and strengthen our economy we should also move away from this jingoistic nationalism and mature as a better nation by being magnanimous.
Pak Army is the only one in the world having the distinction of surrendering 93000 soldiers!! Says a lot about their courage and their professional behaviour
Says a community that surrendered for 1000 years sucking lunds of Mughal Pakistan 😂😂😂😂😂.
Most countries have an army. But in Pakistan, the army has a country.
100% agreed
Here's a question that's been on my mind for some time.
The election in Pakistan saw the public voting against the establishment's wishes for the first time since independence. Could this have spooked the Russian leadership into acting heavily against their opposition as they did a few days ago?
Russia is a different case were majority of Russians support Putin.
the situation in Pakistan is similar to North Korea currently. No one can talk negative about he Army because they fear the abductions which ISI is carrying out everywhere. and almost everyone hates the army right now because of their actions against Imran Khan. This is the first time in the country's history that a common man hates the Pak Army. that has never happened before and its Imran Khans biggest achievement, showing the people the real face of the army.
That has happened before in 1971 when Bengalis started hating their own army
You really have a flair for delivering gravitas in brevity. Kudos.

Pakistan's LUMBER 1 🤣🤣🤣
Shekhar thinks Pakistani army is finest in the world😅😅😅😅 then why have they don’t have one inch of Indian land?
You might have misunderstood. He said finest army that has destroyed its own country.
It is the finest army that is fighting against its people and they own the whole of Pakistan which came from India. Occupying someone's land has no relationship to the finesse of an army.
It's a sarcasm.. Nice way of putting "Lumber 1" Foz in frame😊
The question is: is this new regime favorable to India or was Imran better? Key question.
Well said 👍
Absolutely bang on... It is a bit of a paradox but while Pakistan as a nation may be in the dumps, the army remains a pretty formidable opponent. While in 1971 the possibility of any Chinese collusion was deftly handled by the military leadership of the day, it is a grim reality that in today's scenario the likelihood of a collusion between our adversaries is very much on the cards. It is in this context that the redesignation of UB Area to a corps is a interesting move on the chessboard of the great game being played out
Whatever the case, I highly respect Indian armed forces, but We should never be complacent, or be in a comfort zone doing the same mistake that Pak did of Glorifying Armed forces for no reason and be blind to failures, instead of being practical. we need to improve a lot especially in the R&D department, DRDO has dragged it's feet and we are not even able to produce a good drone, look at Turkey's defense industry for comparison. There is nothing wrong in setting high standards.
Turkey doesn't have nuclear power..what will drone of used 😂😂😂
Don't be a fool. Drone has one usage, nuclear weapons have another usage. Nuclear weapons can be used only in all out war when opponent has used it. Drone can be used in many aspects and are comparatively a cheaper investment. @@dineshpatil9254
Shekhar Ji, you raise a good question about the Pakistan Army, which may serve academic interests but certainly not Indian National Interest!
Why would it not be in our National Interest to limit the outlook on Pakistan to the extent of security only and ignore otherwise?
It is in India's national interest not to engage with Pakistani people and politicians and only to engage with their Army as that is where the power central lies. That is what he tried to explain.

It is ALWAYS a pleasure listening to you. I hate Pakistan's military's involvement in politics and hence their destruction of all the institutions. Pakistani people are aware of this now (Thanks mainly to Imran Khan and social media) but they can't fight against an army which is 5th largest in the world. Sir, do a vlog where you can discuss how Pakistani people can free themselves from the clutches of its military in particular military Generals.
SG, you wish, but Pakistan has stood up to US and India. Diplomatically it is a success story.
You’re forgetting in the war for Bangladesh’s liberation 93,000 pak soldiers decided to surrender rather than fight till death, that’s proof enough for us to know how formidable Pakistans army is.
