The Winged Dragon of Ra isn’t Ra. It’s Ra’s Dragon. The same with Slifer who’s Japanese name is The Sky Dragon of Osiris. It’s Osiris’ Sky Dragon.

It isn't Slifer the Sky Dragon its Slifer the Executive Producer.
Thats only true for Ra. Slifer' Japanese name calls him Osiris, not that he is of or for Osiris
Sea Serpents are literally called Sea Dragons in the OCG so they definitely count. Just like Wyrms which are supposed to be Phantom Dragons

So there's a difference between Battle City Ra and Memory Arc Ra, Battle City Ra takes more of the form of a dragon (supposedly) because it is its weaker state and in the memory arc, I don't recall where but I saw that it was supposed to be a falcon, but it's still close to a hawk

I remember questioning why Berserk Dragon was a zombie when I was young.
In the Manga/Anime, the God cards have a second typing. In their effects, Slifer anfd Ra are also treated as Dragon-type, and Obelisk is treated as a Warrior.
That's why Buster Blader got a 500 ATK increase from Slifer in the anime/manga.

It's true, also dragons in the east are serpentine in appearance.
I do recall that the name dragon comes from the Greek and it translates to "big serpent"
There is an old folktale in Japan that some of the islands that formed Japan was indeed by a dragon shaped similar to a serpent. Why is it depicted in this manner. Because of the speed and sometimes violent nature of eels which is a delicacy in some dishes.
Your probably thinking of Ryūjin or Watatsumi who actually look like the archetype of wyrm or sea serpent even though their dragons. So it’s isn’t 100% just localization issues.
Ryūjin in particular is celebrated in Kyoto in things like Gion matsuri in July.
Dinossaurs were also terror dragons or something similar to that, which is probably why the transcendrakes act as Dragon, sea serpent, wyrm and dinassour support

I like how Evol is a 3 stage line from small reptiles to big dinosaurs but ultimately formidable dragons.
Sea Serpents are just water dragons. I forgot where i read this, but sea serpents are often described as dragon-like in terms of appearance in mythology and folklore.

Divine- Beasts is a pretty wide umbrella term used in fantasy. It can apply to dragons or many other animals or monsters. Also typically divine-beasts are either god-like or gods in their own right.

Sea serpent are called "Sea Dragon" in the OCG so although not the same type as his fellow ice dragons, Brionac is still a legit dragon.
Edit: alongside other sea serpents that contain "Dragon" in their names.

I heard somewhere that, in the manga, the god cards all had two types and Slifer was both Divine Beast and Dragon type.
The sole reason i prefer yugioh more than any other tcg is specifically because it really tickles me to imagine duel monsters like these dragons being beaten by cute fluffals or silly sprites like naturia

I thought you were gonna go the other way and show Dragon-Type monsters that really shouldn't be dragons. Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon is only a dragon for the sake of synergy. Everything about it screams that it should be a machine monster.

Also slifer and ra use to have an effect to be also treated a dragon type while on the field but Konami thought that we shouldn’t get that effect in the real game which I hate that they did that.

What is funny is that in many games, Slifer is a Divine or Fire Dragon.
