Always breaks my heart to see flashbacks of Dean having to basically parent his younger brother, and this episode was no different. The way those two boys grew up sucks, andI feel so bad for both of them. But I guess that is why they have such an amazing bond, which is why I love this show so much ❤
Exactly. Dean is Sam's dad. Period. He raised him when John was gone. That's what makes this season so pointed at their bond. John sacrificed himself for Dean, his son. And Dean did the same thing for Sam.
That's his _PARENT_ Sam _asked Bobby_ for a special gift for his dad, he Planned this, probably all excited, but his dad never showed and he gave his super-special-father-gift to DEAN! Because THAT'S HIS PARENT! Makes him spaghettios, gives him a Christmas, is there for him, has been protecting him since he was 4 years old T___T
Jensen and Jared consider each other brothers irl which makes spn that much more sentimental. Also might just be me but the zoom out that showed Baby outside the window "watching over her boys" just added to the feels. It's pretty much always been the three of them and I just thought including Baby at the end was really cute💖
Fun fact: Jared actually heavily spiked the egg nog he gave Jensen in the last scene. So Dean’s reaction to how strong it was was actually Jensen’s reaction 😂

To clarify: Paganism is any religious belief system outside of the three major Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. So this would include the ancient religions of Mesopotamia, Syro-Palestine, Egypt, Greece, Rome, the Germanic tribes, the Britons, the Picts, the Celts, etc. And because it often used in Christian contexts, it sometimes includes other major world religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Baha'i, etc. That's how it's used in _Supernatural_ as well-all the gods except capital-G God are pagan deities. In the show's lore, while they are inherently more powerful than mere humans, their godly power came from their worshippers. The more worshippers they had, the stronger they were as a deity. Once they lost their major cults, they gradually weakened and became little more than mere monsters. FWIW, in ancient Israelite religion and Apostolic Christianity, the pagan gods were (and still are) believed to be real entities. They are either fallen angels (technically called "sons of God" in the Bible) or demons being worshipped by humans instead of their Creator, Yahweh, the God of Israel, the Most High God.

@@blueconlan9180 well, those other religions would probably classify the Abrahamic religions as Paganism, too. Simply because they don't believe in that religion. About Sam's, "You wanna watch the game?" line, I just learned this the other day, I think from a Sarah Z video. Translating the essence of a script can be tough because of the different cultures, for instance Japanese men are not people who say a direct "I Love You" often, if ever. So in a Japanese translation of a play with a man and a woman who've had a great time dating, and in one scene, beneath a full moon, the man looks to the woman with clear emotion, instead of in the english/mexican/whatever version, him saying, "I love you" would be replaced with "the moon is beautiful tonight, isn't it?" A way to say I love you, without saying, "I love you" Merry Christmas 🎄 Wonder if Halloween has weird pagan roots 🤔
I've always felt that way about this scene too. Like when he says "Dean" and than pauses you can tell hes thinking about saying "I love you" or something "sappy" but instead opts for something less emotional.
They ARE the best friends in real life. Their wives and children are friends too. Jensen (Dean) has two girls and one boy. And Jared (Sam) has two boys and one girl. Their children call them uncle and they even went to the same kindergarten or something at some point.
I think they’ve just been really busy with new projects to be honest. I’m sure they still talk and will be back seeing each other all the time once the world is back to normal and they work on more supernatural things - nathan

FYI, December 25th (or the Saturnalia) was not co-opted by the Church for Christmas. The date for Christmas was calculated and set (1) using Second Temple Jewish numerological methods to have the Annunciation (Gabriel's announcment to Mary that she would conceive of the Holy Spirit) coincide calendrically with Jesus' Passion (Pascha/Passover/Easter). And (2) at a time when the Church was experiencing extreme persecution by pagans, and so Christians avoided any and all association with pagan practices. This was at a time that Christians were being tortured and executed even for something as ostensibly harmless and mundane as not offering incense to an image (often a statue) of the emperor, so they most certainly are not going to adopt a whole pagan holiday (date, practices, etc.) and call it their own. For whoever wants to dig in deeper, I highly recommend the article, "How December 25 Became Christmas," by Andrew McGowan, a professor at Yale Divinity School. (Just type the title and author in a search engine and you should find it easily. Links often will cause a comment to be deleted.)
Paganism come from the Latin word paganus meaning rural. Today it means those who worship other religions other than Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Some of the most well-known Pagan religions are Wicca, Druidism, Shamanism, Hellenism (belief in the Ancient Greek Gods) Asatru (belief in the Norse Gods), the list is endless.
But if you think about it Dave, that's exactly why they should've talked about Mary with Sam. This little boy never even knew anything about his mom coz no one wanted to bring her up. He probably never even heard stories about her until he was older now hunting with Dean.

Pagan gods were worshipped back in the day, but now that we got Jesus nobody really worships them anymore, so they are significantly weaker because of it
@@kyletrosper8953 I never said he was, but When praying, you’re supposed to pray in the name of Jesus, nobody in the real world back then said that they worshipped God, they always said they worship Jesus AKA their Christ. That’s where you got Christianity wrong. When you hear Christians talk about Jesus as if he’s God that’s becuase They see Jesus and God as one in the same,Since they are all equal to the Holy Spirit. God is the Holy Spirit, God is the father, God is the son.

Halloween is a month long event for me and the 31st is like Christmas!
They not knowing about the prequal fued on twitter 😭😭😭
Love Flashback episodes to see how the boys had it.

Pagan gods were worshipped back in the day, but now that we got Jesus nobody really worships them anymore, so they are significantly weaker because of it
Jesus is not god idk y so many mfs think that😒
@@kyletrosper8953 I never said he was, but When praying, you’re supposed to pray in the name of Jesus, nobody in the real world back then said that they worshipped God, they always said they worship Jesus AKA their Christ. That’s where you got Christianity wrong. When you hear Christians talk about Jesus as if he’s God that’s becuase They see Jesus and God as one in the same,Since they are all equal to the Holy Spirit. God is the Holy Spirit, God is the father, God is the son.
@@youngeeneden1594 as a Christian, I can confirm this is true
