Massive attack has many songs that you can call popular but Sly is kinda underrated I think. This song responds in my soul. Every time while I listening to this I get very emotional (but among people I'm always cold as ice whenever its possible) and think about beauty, harmony, all that stuff. That mood, vibe, sound... Everything made just perfect. I wish it could last longer every time, ehh...
you gotta love trip hop. all these years later and doesn't sound aged at all. at least to my ears. in a perfect world this sound would dominate the charts.
We are of the same soul my friend. Even years later I am still deeply moved by this song, especially the ending instrumentals. It has some sort of finality to it... like the ending credits to someones life.
Wow... almost 30 years have passed since I first heard this & it still sounds as beautiful, intriguing & intense as the first day. The whole album is a masterpiece.
for me this song is about the perception that your soul has been here before...feelings of an old soul and a mind more sensitive to the chaos and more aware of intuition and the realm of the unseen spiritual ...I also was reminded of the diffrences and similarities of culture religion and oppression psychology versus psychic ability etcetera
I personally think it's about the detachment from nature, critical view of expectation of always wanting more and a dizziness of the robotic, chaotic, bland, banal, monochrome tones of urban society.
i spent an evening watching all the massive Attack video clips... i am amazed how rich, beautifully scenographed they are. Each is a complex story. I haven't seen anything like that for a very long time. Made me very nostalgic too. I remember I was finishing high school when my best friend bring me their CD
[Verse 1: Nicolette] I try to believe what I feel these days It makes life much easier for me It's hard to decide what is real these days When things look so dizzy to me [Verse 2] I already know my children's children's faces Voices that I've heard before There's always more There's always more [Hook] Wondering leaving the sea behind To my home which everybody owns Wondering, wondering Where we can do what we please Wondering [Verse 3] I feel like a thousand years have passed I'm younger than I used to be I feel like the world is my home at last I know everyone that I meet [Verse 4] Somewhere in the music I can hear the bells I heard a thousand years before There's always more There's always more [Hook 2] Wondering is this there all there is Since I was since I began to be Wondering, wandering Where we can do what we please Wondering
It feels when you listen to the music of Massive Attack through the years, the meaning becomes deeper and deeper. Seeing you live was already the most beautiful trip. The water, the start of creation, the creatures belong to the one Ocean. Life is like being an avatar choosing a new body everytime you die in this game. Keep on wandering through these levels.. until.. we become 1 again with the 0cean.
The first time I heard this track on MTV, I was instantly hooked. I was glued to the set hoping it would come on again later in the day to record it on (video) tape, and to my greatest delight it did! A few days later, I bought the album. Sly is always on my playlist (as much as the rest of the album). It's a track that i can never get enough of. Pure brilliance!!
BRAVO!!!
One of my favourite clips EVER!!!! Amazing Music from Massive Attack!! Saw them Live at Barcelona and It was AMAZING!!! Great Dj´s and live musicians giving it ALL.... Would Love to repeat that Experience!!! ARTISTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
'Wandering leaving the sea behind, to my home which everybody owns' The sensitive balance between letting go and holding on while concentrating the mind on the present moment. All about perception of life, your surroundings...
This brings back so many memories of the past when things were more different pure and simple without any second thoughts and without any serious problems sometimes I wish I could turn back time to live exactly the same things without changing anything........
3:46 my fave part of a song I love so, so much, I now see as a way one walks through life with the concept of the Mandela Effect in mind, depicted by the patterns in the background, which are the nature of the ME visualised, when left unmaintained.
Oh good, this old pair of CV VS-120s I bought in 1995, literally cause I wanted to annoy my neighbors with this tune, still have good bass response..... 😂
The vocals on this always remind me of Skye Edwards lead singer with Morcheeba. it has that same easy vibe and the strings are awesome and compliment the beat so well.
I have loved and listened to massive attack music for more than 20 years; and it will stay like that! Now I would like to know from you how many people around the world will continue to hear these miracles in 2024, and from where? I hope to see MA next Tour…maybe in my city-Berlin ❤
A beautiful song, great music, amazing singer, stunning, lovely photography, amazing art direction... This song and images give me hope for better days ahead... And if not, at least we have great memories... Peace to all...
The year was 1995...when Mtv played good music. I was 15 and got hooked on those new sounds. Massive Attack, Tricky, Portishead etc... What an era.
Don’t like trip hop except these bands had something about them that moved me.
John Kilrain Blackstone we lived in paradise and did not know it...

Was flcl out around that time? Sorry too lazy to check myself
This song was hardly played on MTV Europe. Only its follow up
No one else makes music like this. Massive Attack is a true gem

My second favourite Massive Attack song, after Unfinished Sympathy. Still sounds amazing.
30 years from releasing Protection and still...it's a fantastic album.
still manages to be both spiritual and sensual, light and deep simultaneously. imho their most underrated track!
YES!
Hell yes
My favourite track...for all the reasons you mentioned
Nicolette has one of the most unique voices in all of music.
Her voice is exquisite
Her voice reminds of Eartha Kitt.
After 30 years I still feel goose bumps all over my body.
Wow - the music, Nicolette's beautiful voice plus the stunning images... what a trip! 😌

Sounds as fresh now as it did 21 years ago. Those strings are so sexy.
21 YEARS AGO ??????!!!! NO WAY.... Wow, I am LATE!!!!!
this is awesome and im turning 20 in one week
You come across real jewels in music every so often. This is great
I love the mysterious atmosphere they put in their music. Nicolette adds a beautiful touch with her voice.

This song and this video are just so amazingly hypnotic that I find myself coming back to this song time and time again
2021 - still a masterpiece !!! Brilliant vibes and perfect vocals
Simply one of the most beautiful videos I have ever seen. Unforgettable.
This still my song in 2024🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of their most underrated singles by faaar!!! The strings, Nicolette, harmony, chorus, simply one of their best songs!!!
This song makes me feel nostalgic over something I've never even touched before.
Same
What a masterpiece
INCREDIBLE Album !!! Years after, still genius !!
This video and the song have something of mystical...rare beauty
Wow....this is perfection ... work of art..
[Verse 1: Nicolette]
I try to believe what I feel these days
It makes life much easier for me
It's hard to decide what is real these days
When things look so dizzy to me
[Verse 2]
I already know my children's children's faces
Voices that I've heard before
There's always more
There's always more
[Hook]
Wondering leaving the sea behind
To my home which everybody owns
Wondering, wondering
Where we can do what we please
Wondering
[Verse 3]
I feel like a thousand years have passed
I'm younger than I used to be
I feel like the world is my home at last
I know everyone that I meet
[Verse 4]
Somewhere in the music I can hear the bells
I heard a thousand years before
There's always more
There's always more
[Hook 2]
Wondering is this there all there is
Since I was since I began to be
Wondering, wandering
Where we can do what we please
Wondering
is it wondering, or wandering? it feels like some places should be wandering.
Wandering not wondering
