  • A 'new' old school tool showed up at Britannia Shipyard in Richmond B.C. thanks to Dave. Originally it was belt driven and then converted to an electric motor at some point. Extra weight was bolted onto the top of the hacksaw to provide better cutting.
My dad is doing the demo on an old chunk of leaf spring. Lubricant is some homemade cutting oil he came up with. Ha!

I have an old rapidor Manchester power hacksaw which shares some similarity. I generally find I can get away with no cutting fluid and the blade still lasts well.

These are very good machines,I have one made by Millers Falls...but what suprised me a bit was fully one third of the video was dedicated to showing the gentleman oiling the screw of the vise

If it had a wood blade on it would it cut faster or are they meant for cutting metal pipes only?
