The things I don't like about the legendary weapons in Forbidden West are 1) that most of them have redundant ammo types: I don't need both explosive and advanced explosive ammo for the same weapon, I'd much rather have some other type of effect, and 2) just how ridiculously expensive it is to fully upgrade one.
Yeah the most important aspect of my wheel is having each Element for whatever opponent I may face
And they aren't necessarily stronger. The sunshot deals more damage that the death seekers shadow.

Exactly. If you want more effects at a legendary level you need several legendary weapons with a steep upgrade cost. I got tired after hours and hours of farming. Shamelessly I just switched to story difficulty to speed up the farming sessions.
Ehh I disagree, I appreciate the non advanced Ammo because it is much cheaper to use. I don’t want to use volition sludge to deal with small machines in 1 hit instead of 3.

My big problem right now on very hard difficulty is getting a decent looking weapon that wants greenshine, and really don't want to invest inti something that i end up dumping later, so toothpicks are the go to right now
I think mid game best (blue - purple) weapon vid will be helpful.
I have one major problem with most of the legendary weapons. Most of them require some purple quality sludge to make. You don't find enough of it to keep up with using those weapons. The best ones in my opinion are the ones that just take regular materials. Though trying to find a balanced set of purples is proving to be difficult. Skykiller legendary spike launcher is amazing though.
If you want to make it easier, you can lower the difficulty to story or easy. It will give you easy loot by getting any kind of loot the machine has without tearing it off. You can call it cheating cuz it won't affect the Throphys and you can change it at any point in the game. I did it once for the Storm bird cuz there are only 2 places in the whole game where you can find them and they are both kinda hard to reach.
If you want to farm Volatile Sludge, Apex Spikesnouts are the best source, particularly if you don't destroy their containers.

I had a lot of trouble with the weapons I bought from the prize master because legendary weapons are so expensive that you cant really use them without losing a lot of resources quite early in the game. It's like you can only use them in late game which is pretty sad because having good weapons earlier is very useful.
Then the game would be too easy lol
I like this as much as the skykiller, which I haven't upgraded yet :D. seemed much easier to upgrade.

Are there like weapon scaling towards your level in this game ? So like I could get one of these Legendary weapons early and use them for the whole game or no
Yes. Scaling is more based on your lvl vs your target. Though I personally keep some alternative purple rarity gear since most legendary weapons use almost purely advanced ammo (and those need materials you can't carry very much of) besides sometimes you just need basic ammo for a job, no need go waste the good stuff on low tier machines. though you can relieve some of the advanced ammo issues with powershots lvl 3 Valor surge for refilling 1 ammo type for free (whichever ammo was selected when the Valor surge is triggered) and getting free shots for bows and spike throwers (but not technique shots; that would be far too effective otherwise)
I honestly don't remember even acquiring 1 of the blast slings. HZD they're the best. This one those Spear thrower is where it's at.
The Blast Sling in FW that offers Corrode, Adhesive, and Purgewater is so, so good. So many machines are weak to Purgewater that a few bombs will destroy them outright. A well placed shot to a Spikesnout destroys it with one shot. Corrode is so good even on machines that aren't weak to it, but especially the larger ones with such a large hitbox. Build up is higher than bows due to slower firerate, but there are hardly any bows with 3 different elements it makes for switching out bows a hassle for each machine fight. I will agree though that spike throwers are top shelf. Explosive does so much damage regardless of machine.

I have... quite a dozen few:"
1. The sliding. Sometime, when I ran and intend to create distant by sliding, I ended up crouching.
2. During the very early & first play. I jump into a big lake to test swimming... Varl jump with and stuck there right in middle of the pool. And I had to restart the game.
3. When I try to save the Traitor Grandson. The first official behemoth fight... I cannot do any melee attacks. Simply can't fight. And was killed pretty soon... because I can't attack anyone with spears.
4. In the hidden amber... There is a Weapon seller, that is until today, as of right now... I still can't access him. Simply does nothing when you press Triangle next to him.
5. In one of rebel camp with rock structure... one enemy got inside the rock and won't come out no matter you do to lure him out... but I was able to kill him by hitting the rock.
6. Sometime, after attempt to jump in certain place. Aloy got stuck and can't get out.
7. Some chest, items... was push or fallen into specific area that cannot be pick up. I was shooting an Owl, it was falling off a hill and stay inside the hill. You can see it with focus but you can't pick it up.
8. Sometime when fighting, the mount fight with you... but sometime, mount just stay still and do nothing... and enemy also don't attack the mount.
9. Some machine appeared to be invisible with certain part. Once I came across a Bristleback with invisible body, all you can see is his glow horns.
10. I watched a video, and saw someone was able to use pull caster to pull Chest that was far away closer to him... till right, I was unable to do so with any chest.
Those glitches never happened to me

IDK, it just seems like they are not worth the hassle especially since it is mostly late game. I will probably try for Wings of the Ten and Death Seekers Shadow but I really don’t like the spikes and boltblasters in this game so I usually just stick to elemental bows and slings
Spikes are nuts, just takes down anything. Best weapon in the game.
The main story is what blocks most exploration and getting the legendary weapons. I usually just stop playing the main story up until around main story level 26. That’s when the whole map is available. And that’s when I’ll gather my legendary weapons. Upgrade everything. Explore everything. Do all the side quest etc. it also makes for a good time since you are strong enough against most enemies. However i set it to ultra hard for a challenge halfway through. It’s fun!

Does anybody know if there is another hunter bow with shock ammo? Ive been using a blue light bow for a while but I do not like that weapon jaja
Deaths seekers shadow has advanced shock hunter arrows and the Lightning hunter bow has both advanced and normal shock arrows
Go to the arena put it on story mode difficulty & get the death seeker 🤌🏽 Oh & you can loot too make sure u do before u kill the last machine

Another good thing about hiving the death seeker is that the hunter arrows are the cheapest out of all the ammo’s
Another recommendation would be the Irvis downfall in New game +, it has 2 sharp shot arrows and a tear explosion arrow, which isn’t every expensive, I recommend it for people who want to easily tear of components off enemies
My game does not want me to do anymore arena challenges, every time I try the screen goes black
If you have anything in your inventory that says "legacy" just transfer them to your stash. it will work. Or update the game, they rectified it in the new patch.

@@thesecondfloorguardian7841 flying mount is unlocked toward the latter end of the main story line. Don't mean to spoil but thought you should know that before you unintentionally complete the whole game just trying to get a flying mount

The hunting grounds so far are far easier than the original I had to wait till more than midgame to 3 stars the 1st hunting grounds so far done the 1st two and didn't waste too much time doing them
Pro tip to the 2nd one: use sky assassinations
Hunting Grounds are very boring 😪 I've just tossed the game at Story difficulty to collect those medals and got back to Hard
Loving the game, BUT, for some reason, when I’m trying to switch weapons in the weapon wheel, it is laggy. AND, the craft loading animation is also choppy and not smooth. It completes in 5 chunks of loading instead of a smooth circular completion. Does anybody else have this issue?

The "chunky" circle is a result on the weapon wheel slo-mo option. The game literally slows down and that includes your input speed. An odd shortcut, but you can fix it by turning off the weapon wheel slowdown.

Certainly good looking weapons but you are in story mode which is easy for any weapon.

Can you talk about best way to get money
So is the Freeze status still as absolutely broken as it was in the 1st game? Once you learn to freeze everything & then simply rapid fire Hard Points into it w your properly modded Shadow Hunter Bow, you won't ever use any other strategy ever again. It's so broken in the 1st game.
Freeze is still the best status, acid is a weaker freeze but can slowly remove machine armor on its own given enough time (and hits to armor do more damage then normal, but not matching the damage you do to frozen foes). Though some machines are more resistant and may need a purgewater status applied 1st (essentially removing any shock/freeze resist they had) beyond freezing? A lvl 3 powershots Valor surge is great to wreck the larger machines and get free ammo on top of it all. 5 free shots with triple damage across bows and spike thrower (weapon techniques don't count for empowered shots) and the ammo you had equipped when you activated the Valor surge is refilled for free (certainly helps keep the best ammo in stock)
So I have to do all the hunting trials to get blast tripwire? Super lame.

I really miss the rope caster. Didn't know they got rid of that. Guess it's understandable though. Being able to pin them down in one spot constantly can kinda stop that fast pace action we love about these machines

Best one to get is from Thornmarsh the Elite Ropecaster the rest don’t really work.
Legendary weapons aren’t necessarily the best as the ammo cost is prohibitive.

Game gives you Legendary weapons and Advance Ammo types, but made everything cost a large amount of shards and hard to find components, that some fucking stupid shit.
I loved the first game. However forbidden west has too many game breaking glitches. I've lost over 10 hours of time over 3 quest glitches that broke the game. FIX THIS GUERILLA

Nerfed to sh*t (and will probably continue to get nerfed as the patches continue) Can't stand games like this where developers constantly nerf gear and skills after the game has been released (ie; the game is no longer in early access). Instead of focusing on fixing graphical bugs etc, the developers are changing gear and skills and giving a vague "some other balance and gameplay changes" in the patch notes. This will undoubtedly continue. The game is a damn single player rpg ffs, not a competitive pvp online game. Having my gear and skills changed after stopping playing for a break due to a new patch getting downloaded isn't my idea of a fun time. I personally cannot stand it when items/skills that I am working towards acquiring and plan a lot of my game around and look forward to getting are suddenly changed because some developer(s) decide today that this item is too strong (for a damn single player rpg!!) or to balance legendary gear more by nerfing its stats because what? Some videos show more players going for this legendary gear more than other gear god forbid! Anyway, I'm done here. I complained enough. The game is uninstalled now, so I can move on.

After all the stuff you go through in zero dawn to get kick ass, then you rank up here by the next game you will lose all your abilities. I wish they would let you keep all the stuff you learned plus weapons from previous games and just make it more interesting where you need more advanced weapons. But storyline it makes no sense to suddenly lose this or that ability because you traveled over the mountain.

After 75 hours I think I'm on The Last Story Mission in Forbidden West, I took a break to download zero Dawn which I don't think I've played since 2018. I just have to say going back and restarting Horizon zero Dawn on my new PS5 I don't ever remember the game looking this great on the PS4. I kind of think it looks better than forbidden West, please forgive me for that opinion.

Huh? Why would u expect the best gear being available EARLY, that's not how it works. Even if it is unlock only at late game, I assume when new game plus come out, u would be able to carry most of ur stuffs over.
You forget you finish the main story get the bird have legendary go back to beginning and start blasting away all side content
@@WizzyTheDizzy I get bored way to quickly with games like this. Playing it twice will never happen. I am like level 12 and have played 10 hours or more. I still am not finding great stuff. I like the chance to find great stuff anywhere at any level. It's what makes exploring fun to me. I've played this one a lot longer than the 1st game, so it's improved. Just not hooking me like I wish it would.

Another thing there are wayyyy to many of the same exact weapons in this game that shoots the same ammo just a stronger variant of the weapon That’s stupid and time waisting an consuming also space consuming. There should be one bow that can shoot many different arrow type ammunition but But bow can be upgraded to a certain strength/rarity. A the same for the blast slings an other slings that lob elemental bombs it should just be 1 that can be upgraded to do more damage a shoots other different bombs an so on for the rest of the weapons. It’s dumb an repetitive to have 20 different bows all different colors an damages a shoot many different types of arrows. You’d think they’d caught on to that from the first horizon game.
Ultra Hard has some serious problems that need fixed ASAP. Dead machines disappearing from the terrain before you can harvest the parts. You can be attacked and killed by a machine while you're OVERRIDING it. Phantom "bombs" and artillery come out of nowhere from nonexistent rebels, but your focus only shows wildlife in the terrain. Point blank range head shots do ZERO damage or miss completely. Weapons get changed mid-battle without your say-so and even removed from your weapon wheel. Large machines glitching out where only a LEG is visible. Stealth outfits don't work. Machines and rebels can shoot you through hills, trees, and solid rock.
They've gone out of their way to make Ultra Hard stupid difficult, and one developer admitted they did it originally as an experiment to test gamers to see if they'd give up and quit. But the gamers played through the deliberate BS so this crap was kept in there. Random shots will do no damage ON PURPOSE, and the stealth gear works only half the time.
