Sometimes I see players put the tip of their thumb against the back of the neck, sometimes I see the middle joint of the thumb touch it, or sometimes it rests in the palm... Is there a reason for the different positions?
***** I also get the impression it's more ergonomic to keep the thumb against the back of the neck? So that the fingers aren't as curled, and it's closer to the hands natural relaxed position... I know professional/academic guitarists all keep the tip of the thumb against the back of the neck. But as a beginner I find my thumb getting tired quickly and wanting to fall back on resting the neck in my palm...
No problem and thank you!!
Excellent practice tips!! Thanks

How to fit the shoulder strap to the banjo
