      Frontier at war.
      A bitter rivalry between the dinosaur hunters Marsh and Cope has led the new American frontier to be engulfed in a fierce war for paleontological supremacy.
      Both sides battle it out using many methods of humiliation, violence and thuggery.
      With each side producing incredible amount of finds detailing the ancient past of America the question that lies on the scientific mind is
      Who will win
      (Make sure to read this in a Tom Kane Clone Wars intro voice)

    Did you know a dinosaur skeleton that that is only 30% complete is know as a complete skeleton because it is so very rare to get 60% and in the museum you may see a seemingly complete skeleton but really it is kind of a Frankenstein skeleton because they use different parts of random bones found all over

    • @BadseedGarden
      @BadseedGarden Рік тому

      It depends on what you mean, a complete skeleton is generally pieced together from taking the first fossils ever found and compiling them with the fossils found afterwards of the same species to try to get a picture for parts of the skeleton you didn't have in the first animal, the first is the holotype and the second more complete picture is the neotype.

      So how does a shark tooth end up on a mountain top? The mountain was once at sea level where the shark died and then pushed up by Huge continental plate movements. Sea shells are regularly found on mountain tops or in areas where there is no sea now. The earth has gone through massive transformation in the past.

      @@zinzanb337 that’s the point of the movie though! It’s expressed in the books but also in Jurassic World where Wu himself highlights that all the dinosaurs are not to anatomically accurate design due to Hammond and Masrani wanting their own idea of what dinosaurs looked like. All the inaccuracies in design are from extra gene splicing from other organisms, such as tree frogs.
      My favorite debate with the films is just how far can humans control genetic power before it spirals out of control. There’s so many arguments to be had there and it’s just brilliant what all Crichton designed.

    I love this story, what a couple of legends. It's a real story. Not everything ends in a happy ending like movies. There are winners and there are losers.

    As always a world class presentation! very well done! I can almost see a Hollywood movie script in it (based on true events :D of course). Awesome !

    19:03 - "A fitting epithet to the bone wars if you ask me."
    Um... mate, the word is "epitaph", not epithet.

    The sad part of that whole thing.. Is.. They BOTH would have done soo much better if they had worked together instead. Not to mention the fact that there was a LOT of bones that got destroyed during this little war of theirs. In a few of the journals kept by people working for either side had pointed out different kinds of bones that.. Leads me at least to think that at least a few belonged to species that we have yet to find parts of since.

    shit, always when you add for manscaped i kind of like the ad more than the vid sometimes... their product naming is just golden =) ... combine that with your kind of humor and presentation and its just perfect =P.

    My reason....from watching your channel and seeing you talk of your great book. 👍👍
