Pre-K-12 Students Learn to Garden Through UAPB Project

Here's a wonderful example of the difference our School makes in the community. Dr. Karleah Harris, an assistant professor for the UAPB Department of Human Sciences, is teaching students at Forrest Park/Greenville Preschool how to grow vegetables. She says the school garden gives students the opportunity to engage in inquiry learning and a platform to connect what they learn in the classroom to the environment and real life. This helps them be aware of where their food comes from, learn how to eat healthy and be a part of the planting, growing and harvesting process.
