- JB On EDC: Traveling With Your EDC
Thanks so much to our good friend @rustyknifelover4463 for suggesting this topic for this edition of JB On EDC!! I have been asked on several occasions how I travel with my everyday carry gear. In this video, I will explain how and what I normally carry with me, particularly when I fly.

All good stuff brother! Thanks JB!
Any time!
I think some of the TSA just want's to steal your stuff !
It certainly feels that way.
I saw an article about this years ago. Stealing from luggage was common even in the pre-TSA days. The writer interviewed baggage handlers and theft victims alike. And TSA-approved locks have made it even easier to break into luggage seamlessly. I think I'll mail myself EDC for my next family visit.
Just try to keep honest people honest
Great topic suggestion RKL! Great advice JB!
Thanks Shane!!
Good advice
Atta Babe JB! #BigRedEDCto12K #DSKFS

Great food for though. Dewalt also has a new pocket knife that comes in at $15ish & could probably be picked up quite easily. There are plenty of cheap knives available for a weekend getaway I guess. Thanks for this topic.
For sure Shamus!
Awesome. Still waiting for "Nelly names blade shapes." 👍😁👍
👍👍👍👍👍
Great video jb being in a chair most people assume if I have a bag they either don’t check it or look at the top and that’s it if I’m travel I either use a lot of tsa friendly gear or put everything in a organizer and throw it in my checked
Right on unclecow
Thank goodness I don't fly anywhere but not having knives at ball games and the like is new. Thanks for the heads up.
Thanks for watching Jim!
Great video. Several years ago I went to the airshow in Kansas City. I had my pocket knife on me. When I realized they had metal detectors I put it a tree nearby. When I got back it was still there.
Glad you didnt lose it!
Thanks, JB. I also ran into it at my second presidential library that are staffed by Secret Service… but they allowed me to go back to my vehicle to put the knife in my car, not that far away in the parking lot.
Good deal Rory
Good video JB , thanks for sharing, YAH bless brother !
Have a great day Michael!
Good thoughts JB. You know me and how driving isn't so much an option so been having to find things that are still useful for me (and also just the mental enjoyment I get from having knives on me). Actually traveling next week to see my brother in the greater Portland area! Short trip, though - trying to save some PTO.
Right on. Safe travels my friend
Good ideas- Im a little old lady and have had sd classics taken away from me at local events in AZ
That's a bummer Kathleen!
great topic and advice, you hit on something I have long believed in an interesting way, I believe that some one who intentionally 'temps' someone to do wrong, is themselves almost or as guilty as the person who then does wrong......(note the intentional, but if you can make things less tempting, you should...)
Agreed Patrick
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it Kevin
Great topic. Thamks JB amd Rusty. I was lucky to make it thru security at a minor league game too. I also think i had a finch. Maybe it's the luck of the finch😅
Maybe so Mike!
bravo!very stunning ! goodnight-
Thanks for watching
One easy hack is to ride in the PJ for work to skip TSA altogether!
Lol...don't have one of those!
If i travel it by train we do freedom on the train sir but if I'm flying I UPS my carry there and back home plus I don't talk to the cops lol have an amazing day sir
Right on!
awsome advice n stories there brotha jb, i do not travel across n abroad the country anymore since the military days , i do NOT miss that , though when i traveled before 9/11 restrictions were less strict to say the least , my wal-mart here sells smiths sharpeners at least , and i am not sure bout that bugout clone blade ? i now only travel to work n back 36 miles round trip , 25 mins away from here , i e.d.c. a few big blades and a tactical flashlight , 1 razor knife and i have a cheapey chinese knockoff s.a.k. on my keychain too , thanks n great vid bro , keep em coming > tom !
Thanks Tom
@@BigRedEDC NO PROBS , be careful when traveling ! , talk soon . tom !
We recently took our boys to the ringling brothers circus. The rent-a-cop at the door flipped out over the little Niteize DoohicKey multi tool I had on my key ring. He went on a total power trip. He told me if I went to put it in my car he wouldn't let me back in. Mind you we had only parked 30 feet from the entrance we were using. So it's not like he couldn't watch me put it in the car. After I was in the venue I stopped the full time security for the arena and told them what had happened. They asked me which entrance this was and 5 minutes later I had me multi tool back. They apologized and said they would be dealing with him.
I fly regularly for work, so I am very mindful of what I can and can't take through security. I 100% check a bag so I can have all my toys with me!
Awesome! Thanks so much for sharing!
I may or may not have hidden a few things in a bush or two at some events.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
The last time I flew I put it in the cargo pocket of my pants in my packed luggage
Right on!
What are you doing up this late?
I wasnt up that late...lol
Great advice just use common sense
I think you should also be fine having one of the folding utility knives like the Oknife "Otacle U1 Folding Pocket Utility Knife" and just remove and throw out the blade before going through security. Then just find a Walmart or hardware store to replace it. They shouldn't be able to take it without a blade.
As long as there isnt a blade. I think it may still raise questions
