If you talk to Big Show again at some point, you should ask about Eddie's Burrito 😂
I think I'd get along with Greg well lol
Hey I got numbers after my name! What's up wit that? I don't control this. Lol
@@garyhen2028 you can change your visible name
Id put Eugene on that list
Man, I will always stand by this statement. Shane Helms is one of the best minds currently in wrestling. His vision for the business is exactly what made me fall in love with wrestling. All the love and respect to his man.
💯
I think one thing that Chris doesn't get enough credit for is not interrupting when a wrestler is going off an interesting tangent, and then actually listening and even riffing on it afterwards rather than just immediately going back to the next question he was gonna ask. Sometimes those tangents end up being more interesting than the original question.
We all loved the Hurricane character but I think his Gregory Helms run was one of the most underrated wrestlers at that time. He was so good
So good!
I honestly wanted him to get the world title back then. He was putting on fantastic matches every week. So good.
I personally prefer the hurricane gimmick. 🌀
STAND BACK THERE'S A HURRICANE COMING THROUGH.
He’s not underrated he’s rated normal, the only person who underrates him is you, Mark
I was an INSANE mark for The Hurricane in my early teens. So underrated as an overall talent. But it allowed him to be a great underdog. I'll never forget him hitting a chokeslam on the Rock. I wasn't really even a "smart" fan at that time. But something inside me knew he had The Rock's respect.
Hell yeah. When he made the change to Gregory helms I was hoping for big things.
you are clearly younger than I am... I first saw him in wcw and knew this guy was something very very very very special.
And I loved the time with Mighty Molly!
He was ahead of his time with the superhero gimmick. I loved him as a kid/early teen too. Git some!
He's always worth a chuckle atleast
The fact that Helms got a gimmick straight out of the New Generation Era over is a testament to his talent and he should've been IC champ a few times
At least, if not world champion. Hurricane put butts in seats. That's the core job of a WWE superstar.
Perfect opportunity for him to have a good midcard title run was his return from his broken neck he spoke about here… late 2008, him & Shelton had a great TV match for the US title.
But that means having to change the ruthless agression era completely and why would you wanna do that?
The ruthless agression was perfect the way it was why would you wanna change it?
Hurricane needs to be in Hall of Fame already. Amazing talent 💪
I remember back in the MySpace days, Shane was one of those guys who would actually write you back. That meant a lot to me back then and I still have fond memories of our interactions today.
We all did Tom so wrong.
I dont understand why you have only 363k in followers on you tube. You literally represent wrestling industry in nothing but positive ways. Im a big fan keep up the good word my guy.
Thanks my man! 🙏🙏
Best Shinning Wizard Ever ...one of the most violent move ...vertabreaker ... everything with Shane was insane and behind the scene he is doing a awesome job! Thank you again Chris you are the best !!
I went to high school with Shane. Haven’t talked to him in years since he was with WCW. Glad to see he is a WWE producer now. Super talented wrestler. Glad to see somebody where we come from be so successful in the business.
Is it true you both went to school with Ron Shirley?
Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms was a menace. I remember seeing him win like a 10-man battle royale for the title at no way out 2006. People were so mad he stole the win at the end 😂.
It was the Royal Rumble PPV. He won the Cruiserweight Open.
@@martinputt6421 no way out 2006. I was there…
@@eldiego68 Just checked and it appears we were talking about different matches. But he was defending the title at No Way Out. He actually won the belt at Royal Rumble.
@@martinputt6421 That’s correct. He had a couple multi-guy matches like that where he’d just barely escape with the pin fall.
@@martinputt6421 I just said the match was for the title. Never said he was/wasn’t champ already. You just jumped the gun there partner.
What would be dope to see as a Rumble spot, would be that he comes out as Hurricane Helms, and actually finally hits the double chokeslam, on Omos and Braun, just for the wildest thing.
Another amazing interview Chris!! Love each and every one.
Thanks Buddy!
Stand back There’s An Interview Coming Through
👊🌀
Underrated comment 💯💪💪
Blink 3 times if you need a rescue team since there's a hurricane your way in this video and you're not standing back. We're here for you, Chris.
Another great interview Chris. Was great to hear how much he loved his time with Rosey because that was probably his best run in wwe and most entertaining. So glad he’s a producer now.
My toddler nephew just found my brothers Hurricane action figure from his elementary days. Had to come see what ever happen to him. Glad to see WWE still taking care of him.
Hes a heavyweight now lol
We all get old
Time catches all men. Sooner or later. Just depends how much time you're willing to dedicate to being in shape as his age.
Man I love getting a CVV notification of a new interview! Love this channel keep up the great work Chris!!!
Shane helms is one of my all time favorites, behind the scenes and as the hurricane. Good stuff man.
I came into wrestling so late that i've never really care for the Hurricane (he was not really relevant anymore in 2018 ^^'), but this interview made me a fan. He's so funny, so interesting, so smart about the business. One of my favorite interviews ever !
I watched a lot of your interviews and this one just flew by. I'm definitely going to watch some of the moments you guys brought up here.
Thank you once again for a great interview!
I really like how Shane articulates ideas, always seems to pick the right words to paint a clear picture in a story or anecdote, or just question that he’s answering
This dude was always fun to watch and it's cool to know he was behind that match with Knoxville haha, crazy! Big respect to this guy and you too man, these interviews, where they talk about matches and promos, bring back a lot of memories for me as well.
HIS GREGORY HELMS SINGLES THEME IS STILL GOATED!!!! IT’S TIME 🎶
Love these interviews Chris always delivering
This was a fun interview. I love the Hurricane! I loved listening to his stories.
Look at how much The Hurricane's changed over the years...
Holy cow!...
Shane’s work always made wrestling looks a little more legit to me not sure why. I was a big Hurricane fan back in the 03-05 era, thought the scatter was fun and entertaining in and out of the ring. This man deserves his flowers.
Bahgawd!! This is a category 5 interview.
The older I get the more I love shane..wish I could of appreciated him more when I was younger..haven't watched wrestling since the attitude Era and im rewatching currently mid 1999 am im excited to re-experience the hurricane
Loved the Hurricane growing up, but this interview made me like him even more. He’s got a great mind for the industry so I’m glad he’s being utilized at WWE.
@ 3:42 knoxville match, thoroughly entertaining. Cool to see some behind the scenes talent, thanks Chris.
The talk about WCW cruiserweighta and what producers do got me thinking. Is Kidman still producing for WWE too? He was my first favorite wrestler back in his Jorts days in WCW. He was being pushed hard in WCW at one point and was, IIRC one of the more successful WCW guys during the invasion. No one ever interviews him. That could be a great sitdown.
The Hurricane was/is one of my absolute favorite wrestlers! Shane Helms is a great wrestler and actor, but the character that was The Hurricane was simply amazing.
Thanks for this interview
“The green hair was a dead giveaway”
😂 Always loved Hurricane Helms
Love this interview! Hurricane has always been a favorite of mine. He had a podcast for a little bit with some hilarious stories.
I remember watching WCW Thunder, as we didn't get Nitro, and he always stood out (lots of garbage on that show). He was a great worker with incredible timing/personality. His run as Hurricane was so much fun, and his little feud with the Rock was the best aspect.
Btw Chris, I haven't watched one of your interviews in a quite a while, you're such a natural at this now. You always had the gift, but there are levels to this type of stuff, and you are definitely at the top of your game. It helps to have a strong partner like Helms of course, but all the credit your hard work! Congratulations
P.S. You need to be conscious of the audio levels of your advertisements, scared the shit out of me and startled my dog lol. I know it's a tactic for commercials, but it doesn't work well for podcasts.
CVV you just keep knocking it out of the park. By far the best channel on youtube
I appreciate that!
Hurricane has one of the best theme songs 🤟
Shane has always been one of my favorite wrestlers. Great interview!
Chris, you’re the best wrestling interviewer around! Helms was so good. Massive fan of the Gregory Helms run in 2006.
I must say this and I have a lot episodes I need to watch to catch up. These interviews and this show done by Chris are TV quality. The show is great and it would be awesome if it were on TV. But I love that it's on UA-cam.
Folks don't remember just how over these wrestlers were during that time.
"Stand back! There's a hurricane coming through!" is an entrance that will *always* pop the crowd.
We still love Hurricane and we cheer when he wins... I don't remember him as a comedy character but a lovable character...thank you Hurricane and Rosey ❤ for all those memories
Very rarely has a sit-down interview truly change how I view someone. Shane Helms sure does love him some Shane Helms.
Stay in the back there’s a hurricane coming thru! I used to love when he came out so much as a kid and even playing as him in the old video games. He’s a legend in my book
Always love the hurricane and shane helms back in wcw era. Such a good rassler
One of the best Shining Wizards in the biz, and the Vertebreaker will always be my favorite move.
Great interview with the legend himself!
Hurricane is probably my favorite wrestler of all time. I love him on Twitter.
Gregory Helms was easily one of my favorite heels of that era. So technically sound, his promos were sick and his heel announcer work was top notch. Shame that run ended so soon.
Coming from a 23 year old in the middle of nowhere West Virginia who wants to get into wrestling school Mr.Helms is one of my idols. I truly wish i can meet him one day
Nice work Chris. Something about the old school hand held mics that make an interview way more interesting.
I absolutely adored Hurricane. Still one of my absolute favorite wrestlers. The comedy was great, but he was also one of my favorite workers, man. I popped every time I saw him.
I was at the Monday night Raw show in Vancouver when Rosey debuted as the Super Hero In Training
49:54
Shane missed the BEST opportunity to say "WHATSUPWITDAT" right after "I was there and then I wasnt." 😂
The Hurricane was such a great character. He was one of my favorites back then.
I was such a huge fan of the hurricane. He made you laugh yet he could hang with the big guys. An underrated all time gem that doesn't get the respect he deserves.
Chris, you have a really nice voice! The little snippet at 19:46 was pretty nice
This is great! You should sit down with Kidman sometime too. Similar story being a great WCW cruiser weight turned WWE producer.
Shane Helms as a serious heel against Noble, Kidman, Tajiri, Rey, Chavo, Kidman etc was fantastic.
In your thumbnail for these videos you look absolutely thrilled
loved the Hurricane character
I’m glad people show respect towards Micheal hayes. He used to get a lot of hate back in the day but he’s been in the business since the 70’s and help make some of the biggest stars ever
Great interview
I've always been a fan of Hurricane, but damn, never watched an interview with him...and shit, I adore this motherfucker now. So much relatability and similar mindsets on things; Shane is so damn self-aware. Like a very intelligent dude with the humor that just comes from being himself.
Stand Back! It's time for me to spend a hour watching the Hurricane! I was in my 20's and still a huge fan riding hide from the Monday night wars when I became a fan of this guy. It wasn't because his amazing story lines, but the fact that he oozes belief in his story telling. It was like HE believed that he was a superhero.
Love Shane Helms?Hurricane, so glad he still in the business and doing by the looks of it really well for himself. A Hall of famer for sure
Interesting to hear all of his work behind the scenes with Logan Paul. Logan’s matches have delivered every time so a big kudos to them both! I can see Logan becoming heavyweight champion one day and Shane will deserve a good amount of credit for helping him get there.
He'll probably never see this but this dude was literally my favourite wrestler who wasn't one of my favourite wrestlers if you get me? Like Jeff Hardy and all that were my faves but the hurricane always kept me entertained when I wasn't watching who I watched it for
Please interview Logan, would also love a penta interview. ❤ Everyone was so mad when Logan showed up but I knew he put his all into everything he does and knew it would be good. If he sticks with it in 5 years his talent will be off the hook.
Penta speaks Spanish
Hurricane and Kane tag team was Shhhoiiiiiit! My favorite masked duo
"I could sing the other part for ya" *Looks down all coy* 😂😂
The Ladder Match with 3 Count vs Jung Dragons vs Evan Karagias and Jamie Noble is still one of my faborite Ladder Matches of all time
Love the hurricane. Seems like he's genuinely a humble person
Hurricane was one of my favorites growing up I loved his superhero gimmick, also loved seeing he was a superhero nerd too just like me he has a green lantern tattoo I have a batman/nightwing tattoo in the same spot haha
This man is a GOAT. No question. One of the most underrated ever
Such a likeable and unique guy! Chris let’s please get Billy Kidman in for a sit down soon!
The Hurricane was one of the best that came out of The Ruthless Aggression era, he made it fun to watch WWE back then! He still gets a loud pop when he comes out every now and then.
Helms was one of my favorite guys. I never knew about the vertebreaker until later on in life. I had honestly though he stopped doing because of Christian's finisher.
Long awaited,didn't dissapoint. Deserved like
He will always be one of the OG's for me, he was appreciated throughout his career, but wasn't appreciated enough IMO! Should have had a longer title run and even a shot at the world title. He was / is an amazing wrestler, very diverse and technical. He should be in the Hall of fame PRONTO!
Good interview.
What a good dude Shane is!
He was truly awesome In WCW cruiserweight devison.

What a lovely guy, and and so down to earth. Champ...
what a funny dude. Cracking well timed jokes the whole show. You can see the realness in Helms.
What an absolute legend
This man pulled in with 50 moves at a time when most had 4-7. And he pulled off each one of those brilliantly. I loved hurricane .
Thank you Hurricane Helms
I had raw video game and made hurricane character , designing his all look, mask and all his moves and was the most fun i had in the game
Lol.. I remember when Hurricane chokeslammed Billy Gunn, and he sold it like Lesnar did with Taker! Hilarious! Always great to watch your vids Chris! And it's great seeing Shane Helms on here. Loved him in WCW, and loved him when he came over to WWE. Seeing this, dude is a genuinely funny guy too!
i like hurricane helms and his cruiserweight title reign.
its always cool to see him on his entrance
also the seriousness really the opposite of the super hero
He ended up having a very solid 9 year run in wwe...underrated character n wrestler
People don't remember Gregory helms, Batista, and Taker ran smackdown back then. Gregory helms had the midcard on lock. Honestly he should've got a main event push during that era, but there were so many sharks back then it was crazy. The main event scene was deep.
my childhood right here.
Hurricane was my first favorite wrestler, 100% pulled me into being a fan young. Eugene would be my 4th on the comedy Mt Rushmore
I don’t need to know all what Greg does but I do love knowing who’s behind some of the matches
