Yakima Canyon Road is just amazing! It was 37 degrees celsius and I tried to get some more footage with the drone, but I messed it up... I hope you enjoy this one...
I started riding on a Suzuki VX800 for the first 2 years and then started out on a Valkyrie. Great beginner bike in my opinion: big engine which means you don’t have to shift like crazy all the time; smooth acceleration; low centre of gravity which makes the bike handle just amazingly. I bet you’ll love it!
@@philip4588 Once the Valkyrie is moving, it's a breeze to ride. I've been riding all over Europe, narrow twisties and alpine roads... so much fun! Once you're used to it, you don't want to ride anything else ;-)
I tried recording the sound of my bike also from under the seat and it worked only at low speeds. Later I started getting various hissing sounds from the wind around the frame. The best solution I found for myself, was to strap the microphone, with a deadcat, on my back, about middle of the ribcage. My body shields the wind, and there is enough open area behind the mic, to pick up the sound nicely.
@@vancityvalkyrie no, not saying that at all. I was more comparing the results. Your bike seems heaps louder too, so that is probably masking the wind sound.
@@theodorstravels I see what you mean. I had such great plans for filming on this trip, but I effed it all up. I guess riding 1000km in a day doesn’t leave mich room for fancy drone/audio shots 😂 I tried but nothing worked out in the end. More practice needed here to get it all set up and getting used to it. The most important thing for me is to enjoy the time when I’m riding. If I can share some footage… nice. If not… you know I had a great time 😂
@@vancityvalkyrie Definitely need to prioritize, with that kind of distance. Can't imagine doing that kind of mileage on daily basis. I'm just weak that way 😆
Did a ride to Mica Dam last year and ran out of fuel at 300km/186mi. With a 20l tank, that’s 35.6mpg. Video here: ua-cam.com/video/cna_Zq4iBSI/v-deo.htmlsi=12QY8Ju8LPB7VM-Q
Like these videos, im planning to get the mc a licence here in Norway, and i want my first bike to be Valkyrie (first gen)

@@vancityvalkyrie Hope so, how does it handle narrow country roads with turns?

Nice piece of road but 37 Degrees! Man you must have been melting. Take care and safe travels.
Cold in the morning and going over the mountains, then 37 degrees around Yakima. The scenery is worth it though ;-) Hope all is well, mate!?!
Great video. That a 360 camera? If so which one. Thanks

Are you saying the sound is bad? 🤷♂️
I know the footage is because the camera only focused on the gauges… sound bad, too?

Just curious what kind of fuel mileage do you get. Switching from stock to the cobra on normal driving? Thinking about getting a pair for my valk
