I think many will have learned that salt water sands make excellent ground conditions for your counterpoises. Amazing copy in tricky conditions and congratulate you for making this video and making it work. I own a few PRC320/L and a few Standard PRC320’s too so aware of their capabilities but this is brilliant. Anyone who uses the university Twente SDR will realise the antenna is just 1m tall however the huge metal structure of the university adds a massive counterpoise.
G’day Alex, I have worked you while you were park portable. I used to regularly work Gs on 20m in the late afternoon in the 1970s while I was mobile in VK. I don't have a manpack that will go on 20 but I can work from a green radio on the lower bands. De VK4VT.
Stunning achievement Alex, just goes to show what can be achieved by this wonderful radio in battle mode. Well done to both of you....... My poor 320 just does not get out enough.
Well done Alex and Dave 👍👍. I wonder how long the record will stand before a Kiwi takes up the challenge 🤔, although I doubt if there is many of the old Racal sets still knocking around the beaches of NZ. 👍👍
Hello Chris, well done on your achievement, Its quite an easy achievement to DX with the clansman on resonant vertical antennas and I do it all the time. This time however I went for the hardest option the whip and LP.
wow very impressive, what antenna would you recommend for me to use on my boat for 20-40m? I was thinking of mounting some sort of whip made using a squid pole and attaching it to the fishing rod holder on the rail that is mounted on the swim platform, I need to be able to remove and store it while underway and set it up while at anchor, cheers Ian VK4NFL
I would use one of my 20/40M half wave end fed vertices's I have on my channel here on youtube. I also manufacture and sell a high efficiency version. 10M telescopic pole.

Unbelievable Alex!
Incredible! I'll try one time to work such a distance with my 320, though at this moment my SEG15d is my favourite... chapeau!
Absolutely love the Clansman!
Wow that has to be a record. Dana VE6KBI in cold Canada
