    How perfect!! I was looking at this the other day, read some mixed reviews so glad to see a more longer term review by someone I consider to give an honest review, and the 30% discount makes it really tempting 👍🏼 thanks for the great review. My only issue is clothing manufacturers seem to be jumping on the word “Laminated”

      Thanks Paul, I've had no issues so far, but I post any issues that I do find. Hopefully now its becoming cost effective enough that laminated garments will replace the drop liner ones. Mind you not all laminates are equal. Goretex Pro is outstanding but its £££££

    It's a good review and a nice bit of kit. Wish it was a onsie though.

    Great review. I can understand why Wolf and other manufacturers don't include the back protector as I always use my own back protector.
    Perhaps other riders do this too?

    Nice looking suit however why don’t many manufactures make longer leg options? Only revit seem to do this.

    I bought the RST jacket and trousers you reviewed last time, they are excellent. I almost bought the Wolf stuff but thought them a tad expensive. Keep up the reviews. Always enjoy them.👌

    I had a Wolf Titanium Outlast suit a few years ago with a built in waterproof liner. Without doubt the most comfortable suit ive owned, warm when needed, cool in summer and totally waterproof. That was until the neck area started to fall to pieces when about 8 months old. Took it back to the shop who contacted Wolf who were not interested and said id done something to it. The shop said they dissagreed with Wolf and arranged repair off their own back. Such a shame.

    A great review, it's a brand I wouldn't have considered as I'm now in the market for a new suit.

    Nice looking combination and good price via your link. I’ve been using the Oxford Mondial combo - looks very similar and around the same reduced price, been warm and dry through all weathers. In winter/wet weather, I like that the Oxford has a much longer connector zip - back and sides as well as coming around to some of the front, so provides a better seal in cold/wet weather. The good thing is that the Oxford trousers also come in a short length, for those of us with dinky legs.

    Good review. I remember when they were still known by the previous name 'Gear'. Their race suits etc were made and sold by Harper's in Leigh on Sea (showing my age now). Had a suit made by them which was one of the most comfortable and long lasting I have ever owned. The Wolf brand/products were originally very well made (as with Gear) but when they changed to more mass produced items they seemed to go a bit down market and the quality dropped. Certainly the leather suits felt paper thin at one point. Good to see that they are going in the right direction now. But I agree that a higher protection rating is needed to compete with the top brands. Overall a really well thought out suit. 👍👍

    Good review mate! I bought this set up just today. I'm on the North Coast 500 in the last week of July. I would be interested in your thoughts on whether I will need the liner or not at this time of year in Northern Scotland? I have limited space in the panniers and would prefer not to take them but aren't sure how warm it would be without them? Any advice appreciated

  • @DanTube2010

    It would be nice if there was more standardisation on back protector size and shape, so you'd have more chance of finding one that fits all of your jackets.

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  3 роки тому

      Yep, there are a lot of options, although because D30 is widely used, there shapes and sizes are becoming popular and will fit many jackets. I actually prefer Knox Microlock armour as i think its more comfortable to wear particularly in colder weather. Something like their Aegis back protector would be a good one to have and wear with every jacket

      @@mancavemoto btw Tony. I bought the Ex Zero helmet. It’s better than my Bell Bullitt on all levels. Most importantly the fit. To much movement in the Bullitt. I’m getting on to the Bell rep ASAP and try and get some more interior pads.

    Hi Tony, I'm looking for a new suit, do you still rate this one?, is it still waterproof? Warm? Thanks Neil

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Neil, Yes still going strong and its been my go to set of textiles. Very comfortable and warm, and still keeping me dry. The outer takes on a little water, so i'm going to give it a going over with a reproofing spray just to give it a top up

  • @dalehawkes1698
    @dalehawkes1698 3 роки тому

    Nice review I thought laminated gear was water proof I e the outside stayed dry ? Is that not the case looks a great suite especially at the price 👍

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  3 роки тому +2

      It depends on the laminate to some extent, which is usually applied to the underside of the material so the out can still take on a little bit of moisture. This has a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating on the outside as well to help combat this. Goretex Pro 3 layer is probably the market leader as its uses an extra hydrophobic layer, but its expensive and can feel more 'crinkly'.

    Great suit, Tony. If I lived in cold England, I'd buy it. Great fit, warm, looks good. I wonder how long the waterproof laminate will last. You didn't mention what it is. I bet it isn't Gore-Tex.
    Excellent review. Keep them coming, if you can.

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  3 роки тому +2

      It’s been lovely to wear. No not Gore-Tex, is listed as a W2 laminate. Only time will tell how long it lasts so I plan to do a longer term update

    CE A level, too low. Anything similar for winter at level AA?

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  2 роки тому

      That is a drawback, although it has been my go to suit for a while. Both the RST Adventure X and Paragon 6 suits are AA rated and come in a little cheaper too, but they are drop liners as opposed to laminate if that makes a difference.
