So many things wrong with this. They weren't the number 1 team. They were the number 1 seed in their conference tourney. Not even getting the nickname right of Arkansas State either in the description. Arkansas State was celebrating a bit too much because James Madison crushed them 91-71 in the championship game anyway.
I feel like he traveled somewhere there. There’s two times where it could’ve been called a travel. When he caught the ball and right before the shot. When he caught the ball was a for sure travel because he moved both feet before dribbling. Not a fan of either team

I don't care what anybody says: if you lose in your mid-major tournament, you do not belong in the NCAA Tournament. 27-6 in the Sun Belt and 26-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference (Indiana State) do not compare to 23-10 in the ACC (Virginia) and 20-12 in the Big East (St. John's).
27-5 lost at the buzzer. They deserve to be in.
Every regular season champion should have an automatic bid in the tournament, still play the tournament but of you get beat it doesn't hurt all the work you put into the season.
