    I agree with Lady M one of the UTube Celebrity Steppin Diva. I also feel men should do all the veriations of footwork. Footwork as a whole has a masculinity more natural for males. It is ok for females to add just a little footwork in a contest with their male partner adding a little sass. Add her hips into it more and watch her partners lead! Much Love😍😍 by the way..shaun is a great instructor.!

      This video wasn’t about me doing a lot of foot work luv . It was more about showcasing the woman .

    This is steppin'! All the steps r smooth & a pattern. Not that twirling & tossing these ppl r executing & refers to as 'steppin'. Gr8 job steppers shaun & partner. ☺

      I love this. Respect to you Shaun, as this is the first time I've seen Chicago Steppin' taught... it what appears to be a logical and methodical manner.
      I seen too many video clips where the person instructing doesn't (or is incapable of) counting IN TIME with the music... so as a result the students aren't connected their steps and movements to THE BEAT.
      You certainly appear to be providing a SOLID FOUNDATION for those students willing to learn the importance of count/timing and musicality in their hearing.
      Sincere Respect to You Sir👍🏾👊🏾

    This is a very good example of the "TURNS" variation of STEPPING. The dancers are doing limited syncopated footwork. The central part of the dance is counting for the TURNS. The are a PART of "STEPPING", and NOT the entire dance

      I can appreciate that because I was thinking the same thing, this is a video show you turns and spins and how to come to come out of them! They make lovely dance partners but in the real world, some guys don't even turn you! They all have a different style , it's all a bunch of crap to me even though people have told me I'm a good stepper. But I just take pride myself in being a nice, fun person that loves to dance and have fun!

    Hi. I really enjoy this video today. I am just learning how to do this dance. My name is Orrin and in live in Baltimore. My teacher’s name is Ms. Evon. I am going to try a little bit of what I have learned from this video tonight in my 3rd class. If I am a little successful tonight and she tells me that I am doing what I learned correctly tonight, I am going to tell her that I got a few moves from your video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge about this dance with us beginners. You made this dance look so smooth & to the point where, I hope I can give the ladies an enjoyable dance experience. In my home town there are some brothers who think they known what they are doing and when the song is done, I can hear some of the ladies talking about them like dogs. Some of these brothers are try to do this dance and are trying to give some of the ladies instructions on the dance and they haven’t taken any classes at all. I don’t want that to happen to me. I want to look smooth like you are in this video. Thank you again for this lesson and I wish you continued success with all of you teaching videos and I also wish you continued success financially as well. Have a wonderful day.

      @@serenebee no it’s hard for a woman period but it’s harder when all the man do is work you. It’s more fun for both when everyone is doing their part! You can’t turn me for the entire dance we have to dance together! Well I just been teaching this dance since 2000 traveling the country and have 9 first place trophies! Maybe I don’t know anything! Happy working ladies oh I mean dancing?

    I love stepping but I must admit that this is very frustrating! Because in this video this style and way will only work when she is stepping with him! Another man will not know how or what to do! Every man you dance with does differently, some are more strong arm and controlling! Some barely touch your hand! When I look at people stepping they are all doing it differently! Some say 8 count, 6 count, then you look at their feet and they are not doing any of it! I'm going to just stick with Line Dancing!

    • @CharisseArrington
      @CharisseArrington Рік тому +1

      Yeah, I feel you.. Tends to be, ( mostly) if one steps long enough... kinda starts to get the feel of things and can step 8 or 6 count. But I do Overrstand that it can be confusing...especially if not practicing and stepping with only limited steppers. When I was first starting out, I took lessons for a little more than a year. Also had the opportunity to dance with Shaun. He's smoother than smooth. His lead is easy to feel. But I can't hang with his level of advanced But he understood that and danced with me at my level.. Right now... I'm way rusty. Pre pandemic was out there steppin with many. Still, def aint no kind of pro. Sometimes can't hang the dance cause I ain't great at being a "spinnin top" lol. But guys usually have mercy and I just keep going till dance is over. Most men to look good when they dance ...so the high level male steppers like ( of course) dancin with those who can flow and hang with their style. For me, I do notice the more I step with various steppers (along with taking classes) the better I get in understanding their various cues given.. Be encouraged, I'm sure someday soon you are going to be badass with it🙇🏾‍♀️

      Key is to go to Class! Also, the dance floor is Class too! I will say it's a lot of unspoken rules that are not taught in class! Some will help you! Some just wanna tell you what to do! I don't like that part!... Well, if it is something special!

      shawn is as smooth as they get and all the ladies will testify to that, he doesn.t need my cheer section , and i m a man who can respect talent when i see it.
      at a club or party , we not in a dance contest, we chilling getting our sexy on, and shawn pointing the way for us who in to that, not contest dancing,
