A very sad time not only for the Eurovision world but also old school British showbiz, I have always admired Katie Boyle for hosting ESC a record 4 times and knowing the years she hosted, a diamond from the BBC! she to Eurovision was what Billy Crystal is to the Oscars, hosting the annual event more times, drawing extremely high viewing figures and most likely the first answer if you're conducting a public poll asking about famous presenters of the show. Keeping a calm, level head about you while hosting the early contests and dealing with the phone calls from the various countries' juries and scoreboard errors was no easy task. I would have probably fallen apart, but Katie was a classy champ at it. Before the great Petra Mede was the wonderful Katie Boyle!
