It is painful but then again if someone stabs you with a needle it’ll hurt at any age (unless you just don’t care about the pain) The child is an infant and therefore it can’t give an opinion at the moment. If the child doesn’t want the piercing when they start growing up, they can just not wear an earring and the hole will close up. What if they child wants their ear(s) pierced when they start getting older, then you gotta remember these pain of getting your ear(s) pierced. Therefore it’s better to have it done as a child because you won’t remember getting your ear(s) pierced as an infant when you grow up. Not selfish, it’s just something cute. It’s their child, not anyone else’s.
@•Cocoa• yes infections can happen if it isn’t taken care of but then again no one knows how it’ll be taken care of. Also who knows if the baby is allergic to the nickel in the metal. As I said to the other person that tried to tell me why it’s wrong to pierce their baby’s ear, it’s their baby and not anyone else’s (as far as the eyes can see) and what they want to do with the baby is their business. As long as it doesn’t literally put the child in harms way, then there is no problem. You can get infections in multiple ways. Would I recommend getting the piercing done at Claire’s? No but then again it what the guardian would like, because they think it’s cute. If the child doesn’t want it, then as you said, they can let the hole close. Please leave the people be
I see why some people think this is bad, but I’m glad my ears were pierced as a baby so I don’t remember the pain, and it’s probably easier to take care of them while they heal. Adult me would have gotten an infection, or never gotten them pierced in the first place
