    *As a Jehovah's Witness I was terrified, and I mean really terrified, to think of my upcoming death. I wanted no part of it. Today, as a Christian, I want nothing but to be with my Lord Jesus. I thank God for brother Craig and his helping me on my journey out of darkness into the light of Jesus Christ.*

    Atheists think that when theists and Christians in general feel anxiety about physical death, it's some kind of proof that we don't actually believe in Heaven.
    But in fact, our body and brain physiology and resulting mind is wired to have anxiety about death and to resist it at all cost.
    This anxiety is 'imposed' on us by our animal physiology. And although we can know with full confidence that we are going on to eternal life with God, it's still very natural to be nervous about the passing.

      yeah, also the fact that death is so uncertain plays a big factor I think. We know its going to be good and better than now, but you don't know much about it and for now living in our physical bodies is all we know

      @@iPigus. I remember at the age of 19 moving from the UK to the USA.
      I was very excited to do so but the day before, my stomach was upset with nervousness about it.
      All change, even for the good, such as before a wedding or the birth of a child, leaves people nervous.
      And as I stated, our animal body is programmed/wired with an all consuming desire to 'not die'. It is like that to serve us and protect us and can't be switched off, even when we mentally and spiritually know it's our time and we are going to a better place.

      No. That is western culture and lack of understanding that makes you fear death. Americans are imbiciles.

    I think Dr. Craig would be excited to meet God. " Well done thy good and faithful servant. Your Home. You finished the race by seeking The Small Door. God bless this world's messes

    Wow! I remember when he turned 50. Now I'm 50! I feel so old! I'll be shocked if I make it to 74. Craig is 12 years older than Licona, and Licona is 12 years older than me.

    Yes, we are to be responsible adults. Practical planning for death is necessary.
    As far as Spirituality, we need to always be prepared.

    Amen!! Focus on growing closer in relationship with The Lord Jesus and fulfilling His will. The length of our earthly days is in His hands. " For not one of us lives for himself, and not one of us dies for himself; for if we live, we live for The Lord, or if we die, we die for The Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are The Lord's." Romans 14:7-9. This is the hope and comfort we have as followers of Christ. Whether we live or die, we belong to Him.

    It's shocking that Evangelicals don't seem to care about Craig's heresies, such as Apollinarism, his rejection of Nicene Orthodoxy, his comparing the Holy Trinity with the three headed dog Ceberus, and his false teaching and dating of Adam and Eve.

    • @drcraigvideos
      @drcraigvideos  15 днів тому

      First, Dr. Craig's view is different from that of Apollinaris. That's why he calls it "neo-Apollinarianism." If you don't know the difference, he explains it here: www.reasonablefaith.org/podcasts/defenders-podcast-series-3/s3-doctrine-of-christ/doctrine-of-christ-part-5.
      Second, why think these things are heresies? Can you support your assertions? - RF Admin

      @@drcraigvideos If it's not Apollinarism, then Craig should use another term, rather than Neo-Apolinarism. However he spins it, it's a denial of the incarnation. Further, All the Church Fathers reject progressive creationism (affirmed by Craig), and they were all young earth creationists. This is proven in the books "Genesis, Creation and Early Man", by Fr. Seraphim Rose; and "The Doctrines of Genesis 1-11," by Warkulwiz. And his rejection of Nicene Orthodoxy alone places him in the category of heretics. Lastly, his analogy of Ceberus is totally impious and blasphemous.

    • @drcraigvideos
      @drcraigvideos  14 днів тому

      @@NightShade671 It's called neo-Apollinarianism because the model has the same ontological structure. Apollinaris was under the mistaken impression that one needed to deny the full humanity of Christ under that model. As Dr. Craig argues, that was completely unnecessary. Human nature is a rational, immaterial mind conjoined with a hominin body. The model meets that condition. And, no, it's not a denial of the incarnation.
      Regarding progressive creationism, Dr. Craig explains why the biblical creation passages are of a genre that resists literal interpretation. See his book "In Quest of the Historical Adam." Not all of the church fathers were literalists. For example, Augustine, Clement, Origen, and Ambrose were not. So, it's simply not true that they were all young earth creationists.
      Regarding the Cerberus analogy, it's not impious or blasphemous at all. Dr. Craig isn't saying that God is a three-headed dog or less than God or fictional. Saint Patrick compared God to a shamrock. Was he also being blasphemous? That's sanctimonious silliness. - RF Admin

    • @NightShade671
      @NightShade671 13 днів тому

      @@drcraigvideos The Church Fathers you mentioned were allegorists, but they all believed that the earth was less than 6,000 years old. Craig is not an Old Testament scholar, and it shows. The literal interpretation of Adam and Eve is the historic position of Catholicism and Orthodoxy. See the aforementioned books for proof. In the Orthodox tradition, we are not permitted to interpret Scripture contrary to the Church Fathers (see Canon 19 of the Council of Trullo). Recognizing the blasphemy of the Cerberus analogy depends on where one is at in their sanctification process. It will seem find to someone who is desensitized to impiety and blasphemy. Even James White criticized Craig for this analogy with Cerberus.

  • @NightShade671
    @NightShade671 4 дні тому

    There's no humility in Craig. He thinks he knows better than centuries of God-illumined and grace-filled Church Fathers.

    00:40 "It is so UNCERTAIN?" Ha! Death is very certain - it has 100% probability.
    ‭Psalms 90:10-12 NET‬
    "The days of our lives add up to seventy years, or eighty, if one is especially strong. But even one’s best years are marred by trouble and oppression. Yes, they pass quickly and we fly away. Who can really fathom the intensity of your anger? Your raging fury causes people to fear you. So teach us to consider our mortality, so that we might live wisely."
    To live wisely and not to mess up our senile days with the "Historical Adam" nonsense.
