As usual, I enjoyed your video. I want to add some additional information and answer a few common questions in the comment section. 1. Finland, the only country is a good solution for nuclear waste? No, France is better than Finland in its plan for creating permanent geo-repository for nuclear waste with its Cigeo Project. Nuclear actinide migration is a critical problem in geo-repositories. To stabilise nuclear waste, there is a process called vitrification (mixing nuclear waste with glass) which France does it in ease on a commercial scale when compared to all other countries in the world. Also, France has mastered nuclear waste reprocessing (in short extracting nuclear fuel from nuclear waste). These two factors, along with extensive knowledge of nuclear waste handling, give France the advantage in constructing their geo-repositories effectively. 2. Thorium fuel: It's the future of nuclear along with nuclear fusion. I will give some benefits of Thorium. It is more abundant than Uranium, nuclear waste from thorium has a short life when compared to Uranium, and it can handle non-proliferating issues effectively. Also, India has abundant thorium. But, governments haven't invested enough resources in developing thorium cycle. Homi Bhabha envisaged that India would move to thorium fuel cycle in the late 2020s. But we are nowhere near the schedule. 3. Why storing underground? Short answer: It is the cheapest and lowest risk option available now. Moreover, nuclear waste is actually nuclear fuel for some Generation IV nuclear reactor designs (discussed in detail later). Storing undersea? Terrible Idea. Some reasons: The pH of the sea is enough to deteriorate the waste containers in no time, high possibility of nuclear waste affecting ocean life which will land in our plate for lunch etc. Antartica? Don't get me started. Not feasible. Space disposal? Costly and imagine what happens if a rocket carrying nuclear waste explodes midway. 4. Nuclear reactors near the sea? The main reason is that we use water to cool the reactors and to generate steam for power. So, it's optimal to construct them near the sea or rivers. 5. Did kalam approve Kudankulam Power Plant? Yes, he vouched for it. But he left us forever before a waste disposal facility plan was put in place. 6. Renewables to replace nuclear? The numbers never add up. The availability of renewables is low. German, the staunch advocate of renewables, has been one of the biggest carbon emitters in the past couple of years in Europe. Why? Renewables are not clean, and it can't handle growing energy demand, and the backup used by them is gas from Russia and electricity from France which is produced via nuclear. Renewables can meet the demand only when a cheap, eco-friendly storage option is invented/discovered. 7. Reuse nuclear waste? France does that to a certain extent (search on MOX fuel if you are interested). However, highly ambitious startups in the west and government in China are working on new nuclear reactor designs which use existing nuclear waste as nuclear fuel. One such design is Molten Salt Reactors (MSRs). Famous startups who do MSRs are Seaborg Technologies, Elysium Industries, Moltex Energy, Terrestial Energy, Terra Power, Flibe Energy, Thorcon and Transatomic Power (currently shut down and open sourced their model) 8. Why is it taking a long time to construct waste disposal? Because the corporations building a nuclear facility have to prove the government and regulators that the facility is "EXTREMELY" safe and it takes enormous time and effort to do the convincing. With all said, do I support waste disposal in Kudankulam. I am sceptical about it as India hasn't developed a viable strategy for nuclear waste reprocessing and vitrification with all resources deployed in the past decades. Moreover, I am not confident in the effort that India has put on developing nuclear. Nuclear is something which has a significant role in the future energy crisis. Given the current state of nuclear in India, we have to step up the game. :(

As per the theory this natural form will get balanced only by borrowing enough proton or neutron from other atom. we cannot assure the natural self balance. Also we still not have the technology to balance it through external force. thats why we looking for garbage plant for those used atomic fuels. hope this helps

Thasim khan already as prem told if radiation pass through human and interact with DNA and break DNA stand... usually if DNA break it will try to repair..that recovery of DNA depends on energy of radiation and quantity...actual rule as per Atomic energy regulatory board door should be lead door and no open window blow 3 metre height from floor..u may seen notice of radiation warning like stay away child and pregnancy women..some type of x ray machine is mobile type..which is used for immovable patient. if u maintain atleast 2 to three metre distance from machine u won't get harmful radiation..u will get scatter (secondary) radiation..u should avoid towards the machine head (where is radiation is come- primary direction) . there is no any clinical or historical evidence for effect of low radiation level..but it doesn't mean u can receive low level secondary radiation...for example if u stay close to x ray machine for 50 patient per day u will receive appreciable radiation which is may be risk... usually in diagnostic x ray rules is not strict..and lack of awareness...but in industrial radiography intensity of radiation high compare to x ray used in radiology..and in industrial radiography operator is well qualified and aware about radiation...but majority of medical x ray unit still non qualified or non trained person is working..
