Damn what a versatile keyboard! Normal mode for office use, solenoid mode if you want to annoy the coworker, buzzer mode when you go do your side gig as a night club DJ. Then turn on buzzer mode at work when you are ready to quit your regular job :)
Thank you for posting this, I'm glad to hear solenoid and buzzer sound tests for this board! I wish the solenoid was a bit bigger and thunkier, but wow, it has a lot of character and it sounds great as is. Crisp, clean, snappy, and tappy. Speaking of character, that buzzer was like a little bird cheerleading for your wpm, that was really something else. I vibe with the solenoids, but the buzzer might be a little overpowering for my taste. And let's be honest, a buzzer just doesn't have that same "presence" that a solenoid has, you know? Still, I'm glad both are offered, I'd love to see more boards with solenoids, buzzers, and other less conventional options in the future. As always, great content with incredible production quality. I look forward to your next video!
Hmmmm part of me thinks that it will be a good board to have in a collection. The novelty adds flare and I ironically hate and love it at the same time.
WOAHHH the buzzer caught me so off guard. i don't know about dailying something like this, but man would it be fun to just have and plug in every now and then!
This makes me want to go and mod my keyboard to have a solendoid. But in the process of trying to go and look for that, I ended up finding a piece of software called mechvibes that lets me make my keyboard sound like a typewriter. It's open source, and I found a custom soundpack called "Lincoln Typewriter" and I think it sounds pretty good.
I have an IBM Model F keyboard which has a LOUD and beefy solenoid! I've used it for so long that I really struggle to type without it. It's not just the noise, it's the whole vibration feedback thing.
Hey Lucid, what makes you not like the plateless build of this keyboard? Is it too thin for you? I really love the retro design of this keyboard and was going to get it but your review’s thrown me off now haha
whoa!! the solenoid kinda sounds like hail hitting a window. but this is the perfect keyboard for zoom meetings when someone is talking for too long HAHAHA. jk jk
That buzzer makes me feel like I’m in Chernobyl with a Geiger counter
put both the buzzer and solenoid on together with clickies and annoy the heck out of ppl
Just dont forget to wear closed back headphones first 😂
I second jason
I called it the "I hate people" build. There are examples on the MM studio discord. unfortunately buzzer and solenoid can't be used at the same time.
Jason I promise you I will do this for you. Reply to this thread come fulfillment time.
@@stryke1989 did you do it

thank you for making this!! I was having trouble finding information online about solenoids and why they exist. super helpful!
...I unironically freaking LOVE those sounds.
Man both of those are so jarring haha. Still cool to learn about old tech being reintroduced again.

Finally I can use silent switches and still annoy everybody in my house :)
This is the perfect keyboard for the workplace

the solenoid is addicting, just don't get too used to it, everyone else around you will hate it😂
I would take that to the library.
ok but i would probably get tinnitus if I had the buzzer on haha

The pitch is fine but it’s really quiet and thin. GMK and covering the flex cuts would probably help
@@nearLucid Thanks lol, I’ll take this into consideration
that is a wild sounding keyboard!

Amazing video
That's so cool
This looks like it will attract some species of insects
I magine using this keyboard in the library and the buzzer activation key gets stuck signalling non stop... 😂

Now we are just missing the blue bombs from shoobs
what switch did you use on this build?
solenoid sound clicky, buzzer like clicky and poppy, and the original keyboard sound sounds like creamy thocks
I oddly like it
alright now connect the buzzer to a school bell
Imagine if you could put iPhone haptic feedback into the mechanical keyboard 🤯
CURSED

owie
Your apple watch is absolutely atrocious girl👎
The solenoid ruins the natural sound of the keyboard. Hard pass.
