That bass line! yes simple but sounds awesome!
Franz Ferdinand always sound so incredibly awesome and I love how they put their own spin on the covers they do. Also, Alex's beautiful sexy voice just makes every song sound amazing.
you are a really fan,
me too! :D
Some of the Go-Betweens' early songs were released on Glasgow's brilliant indie label Postcard in the early '80s *connections*
'I need two heads' c/w 'Stop before you say it'
Nice cover. I love The Go-Betweens music.
Ironically, I remember hearing the original of this song and my first thought was, "That is the most Australian song I've heard since 'a land down under'."
Now THIS is a cover!
Fantastic song of a fantastic band by a fantastic band....... fantastic
From Chicago we wish to Thank You for two great bands combined in one great set.
Great song. Great cover. Very honest, haunting and unpretentious.
Love the original, love this.
it's funny how they mention the smiths in the beginning and the intro to the song sounds so much like "there is a light that never goes out"
Go Between’s are revered in Brisbane, their home, even built a bridge over the Brisbane river and called it The Go Between Bridge!
Wow, excellent performance!
Love this song
I really love ❤️ them
Beautiful
just keep making me dance and sing love you
Oh my god that is so good. I can not believe
Hi Alex you did this song justice your voice. And your complexity shones rhru I keep it on repeat 😍🌈💙

What a lovely cover! Never even knew for the original song, forgive me. But I love it now! [:

Great cover.

Que país é esse , que paaaiss é esse
“Could be from anywhere” They’re the most Brisbane band ever.
Its music like this that makes me want to move to New Zealand.
Que país é essee, que paíss é esse, que paaííiis é eeesse
Huge respect for this band now. I mean F.F ;-)
👍👍
When you cover just another it’s just a cover I love 💗 Alex’s sexy voice and the bass run has just begun run run run the ace bass
Where did Bob go? lol
Gotta be one of the best like a versions. The only good thing about what remains of the degenerative Triple J is this segment.

The bass line, remember the smiths.
Start: 0:00
I guess that's when the video starts, but some people just want to hear the song
where did my come and go
ugh. those blue eyes.
That is so close
Bands from overseas always come to Australia and play covers of Australian bands thinking that the Australian listening audience will appreciate it and be like 'wow I haven't heard this song in a while it's great they have their ears to the ground and appreciate Australian music' but the reality is hardly anyone knows the songs because of our retarded music press completely ignoring our great music history. Case in point: Bruce Springsteen playing 'Like Fire Would' by The Saints on his most recent tour. Anyway w/e.
Tallulah took a shower for an hour
mmm maybe
:'(
I find Like a version much more enjoyable when bands put their own spin on classic songs that people actually know.
Nothing against the songs they do or that i prefer shitty pop music over alternative stuff its just whats the point if both songs sound like originals to the vast majority of the public.
Imagine Franz Ferdinand covering "Beds are burning", "Flame trees, "Holy Grail", "Creeping up slowly" well maybe not the last one but you catch my drift.
Is that Bob on bass?
Bob couldn't make it. I think this guy's name was Scott.
No, it's Scott Patterson from Sons & Daughter, a Glasgow band and friends of Franz. He's filling in for Bob who is out for the rest of the year due to a family issue

The go between a ripped this song off of the Smiths some girls are bigger than others
A ton of bum notes in there.
I really don't like the cover, the Go betweens 1989 song better in my case!
IF YOURE GOING TO DO A COVER, THEN MAKE IT YOUR OWN AND PREFERABLY BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL.SORRY FF BUT GO-BETWEENS STILL 1ST. IT WASNT VERY GOOD AT ALL.XO
