"What Is Syntax in Grammar?": Oregon State Guide to Grammar

In this video, Assistant Professor Tekla Bude offers examples and explanations that help to answer these questions. It is designed for high school and college students studying grammar, writing, or linguistics.

Syntax is set forth specific order for grammatical elements like subjects , verbs , direct , indirect objects . Syntax is too arrangement of words within sentences structure. Syntax is part of grammar that focuses on how words are combined to form pharses and clauses and how those components are arranged in coherent sentences. In writing syntax refers to word order , tense , subject, verb agreement and even sentences length. Rules of syntax are word order , grammar
, punctuation that govern sentences . There are three elements of syntax sentences structure, part of speech , word order , punctuation. Thank you for your wonderful educational literary channel.
