Amazing work. Fantastic painting, very realistic, without unnecessary soiling and damage. This is the one of my favourite modelling chanel. Thanks and greetings from Poland.
I am making this tank at the moment and got kinda stuck on the question if i paint the tools separately or not, but that's not always possible so i got a bit lost. This video is perfect! the camera angles, narrating and the video quality, like a pro! Thanks a lot
@@lpjmodels Just finished it yesterday I was bitten by the Panzer III bug! Its a great kit. I didn't have any issues with the fit. The only thing I changed were the tracks. I used Master Cub tracks on it.
Hi! I wanted to say this the last time but it's still valid now: Border Models have a great kit here! And your work simply highlights it! Looking forward to the weathering.
A beautiful job on this James! Your skill with the airbrush is up there with the best - way above my meagre efforts. I have only found your channel recently, and I am enjoying the content enormously. Can’t wait for the next one! Cheers from Australia!
Next year when SMW is back to normal you need to enter some competitions, definitely first prize in my book with this one mate😉👍🤓looks stunning, the modulation sets it apart,
Thanks Dave ! I did enter a few years ago but got a disqualification for not putting the instructions down with it ( lol) im more prepared now though 😄
Wow, great looking Panzer IV James! I love your subtle post shading and that wood grain on the tools is "killer!" Looking forward to the weathering stage. I've ordered the Panzer IV F by Border models and I'd like to do a build of that in Africa Corps markings on my channel. Cheers!
I like the paint job like how you did the gray work looks nice haven't found one of board model in my local model shop yet must go and see if he got some in well done 👍
The work is next level. Flawless build and paint. Only criticism I have is I'm not sure the rope securing the cans and wheel at the back would do the job. Likely would slide out when going over rough surfaces or steep inclines.
Thanks! Probably about 20% as good lol, I nailed painting with tamiya many years ago and did some passable finishes. Perhaps with lots of oil work I could get some nice variation, but the effort and time would quadruple.
@@lpjmodels Thanks for the update ! 😁 Once I had a Panzer IV H... but it became far behind the class of your Masterpiece.😅 I wonder how a Panzer H ( Baby Tiger ) would look with this turret front added armor and the skirts ! 🤔 Keep up the great work ! 🙂
Hello brand new sub here! I am like 5min into the video and I've decided that your video style reminds me of plasmo plastic models and a little bit of night shift. I love it! Keep doing what your doing! But one small criticism is that I don't particularly like to watch a whole 30 second clip of each step. This isn't a huge problem but I learned in videography that the average shot is about 3-5 seconds long, this way the audience is constantly being given some sort of change. Mabey consider this in the future but you did a good job regardless! 😁
Hi Tanker 710 thankyou for the sub and the feedback! Plasmo and Night shift were big influences when I decided to start filming,! I appreciate that some painting sections are a little long. In my previous videos I have given shorter albeit sped up shots, this time I wanted people to see things at a regular speed and some shots ended up longer because of that.. this did affect the pacing of the video a bit and I agree completely, I will try and strike a better balance in future if I decide to keep the footage at regular speed.
Great work and I’m really looking forward to part III. It makes me want to do an early war panzer next and try some of these modulation techniques you present. Now for an incredibly basic question about a very complex paint job. Are you really able to get straight Stynlrez through a 0.2mm nozzle?
Hi Dave, thankyou, i wanted the modulation to look a bit more organic. The next layers will tell if I pulled it off with enough variation e.t.c And yes through the 0.2 at 25psi. Nice atomisation and seems to work alright for me . I dont have any active airbrushes bigger than 0.2 !
Hello James. Your tonal modulation has a truly realistic rendering. You did not use the Mission model products for this work, should it be deduced that it would not be suitable for this type of rendering? Thank you.
Hello Didier. You can do this sort of work with Mission Models no problem, I fancied a change for this build as I have never used AK real colors before.
Thank you very much for your reply James, besides it is thanks to you that I discovered the excellent range of paint Mission model . Greetings from France.@@lpjmodels
Great German Gray painting! I have few questions regarding on the AK worn effects fluid, do you thin it with Gunze thinner? What is the thin ratio? and how many time to wait before painting the next layer, like 10 minutes? Thank you!
Hi Kepp. The ak fluid is unthinned, as soon as the chilling fluid is dry the paint goes on, and by the time I have cleaned my airbrush I start chipping.
Thankyou! At the end or during painting ? At the end is a rotating display from amazon and the one during painting is known as a heavy duty tv stand or lazy susan. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N959WDQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_CDHpFbEKAS61B
Thanks Tim!. There is a famous picture of a panzer iii crossing a river in the steppe with primer red parts so its not too far out, weathering is next vid!
It makes it a bit quicker and easier for me, I'm fairly accurate with the brush and oil clean up takes seconds. If I paint tools off the model its very likely I'll loose em
Hi Bruno, thankyou, they are just plastic shotglasses from supermarkets, some brands are better at keeping the MLT in than others ( whoops ) they aren't anything specific
Great modeling work. It does look very lively. If you want to accept some german pronounciation advice, the V is often pronounced like an F, especially at the beginning of words. So instead of Vorpanzer, say it more like Forpanzer. And if you want to get it extra correct, the A in Panzer should be pronounced like an english U. Punzer. The Z is a sharp one, more like the second C in Cancer. So that would leave us with Forpuncer. Looks hideous. xD Anyways, keep it up! Looking forward to the final finished model!
Thankyou for the tips, I have a little german under my belt but its so easy to slip into anglicising everything I say. Some things I remember a lot easier. Thankyou !
It's too bright in my opinion, and needs more chipping specially were the crew usually would step and what they would grab to open hatches and get on the tank, I also didn't like tho colour chosen for the wood although I liked the technique to make grain effects. Besides that it's a very cool model, I'll subscribe
Hi Jorge, thankyou. I havent done any chipping yet just paint distressing. Weathering video is to come and will also darken the finish some. Thanks for the sub
That's a hard question , I dont think I have a favourite as such, early german armour is something im quite interested in but I also like the archaic designs from ww1.
Honestly, too many layers of chipping fluid and varnish. You could do the dark base. Then chipping fluid. Add all of your modulation layers but thinned with acrylic thinner such as Tamiya X-20a that is water soluble. Finally, agitate with wet brush and varnish with satin varnish. This would have the same effect and save you loads of time. Also, looking at the next video, you start with brush chipping. I can see up close the chipping fluid stages really didn't work.
