Welp. You might be the only people on the planet who thinks the mighty ducks logo isn't any good. Its one of the best logos in sports history. I gave you a 'thumbs up' not because I agree with your opinion of the rebranded Ducks jerseys (which truth be told I really like the orange - the RR Ducks with orange was great too), but for the good laugh since I too dislike oatmeal raisin...
I think in general there have been too many disappointments when teams rebrand AWAY from a popular look. And when a team wears something not as good as the original/previous branding, we get the overwhelming screams to go back. And it has not been just the Ducks. I'm one of those fans that have screamed for the Mighty Ducks primary logo. I know John doesn't like the retro trend, but I am really excited about their rebrand back to that logo. This leak of those uniforms are a massive upgrade! I think we should not fully judge until they are officially unveiled, but I really like what I see so far.
I think our biggest gripe is that Anaheim has never looked good, and to revert back to that look is a huge disappointment. If you've never seen the Quad City Mallards, take a look. It's great inspiration at a minor league level.
@@uglythirds I actually liked the last Mallards' logo. Reminds me of how the Iowa Heartlanders put together a really nice brand package and have that realistic deer for a logo (has me thinking of the Milwaukee Bucks for that matter). I'm not 100% sure yet what would new look for the Ducks would put out that could surpass the Mighty Ducks logo. I am guessing that now they will have years to think of something for the long... very long term future on that. Maybe a more realistic looking duck head with details that can connect with the fans?
I think at least for now, I'm happy with what they are doing. Better than the worn out welcomed webbed foot logo and its uniforms had.

If the jerseys must be this, stop the orange there. The orange pants are a bridge too far. They look like jack-o-lanterns with orange head to toe. I don’t think this is nostalgia on management’s part. This is appeasement for the fans that will ultimately put more money in their cash drawers.

I really like these. I think the only reason people don’t like them is because its not identical to the OG. Come on. Let teams do something new for once, and this is awesome. A lot of orange, but if the Sharks can do All teal then I think the Ducks can do all orange
The difference is the Sharks have an exponentially better logo up and down, so there's more leeway there with experimenting. Anaheim just keeps missing.
And I want something new, and the old logo is not it

oh my god, the guy on the right has some absolutely bang-on opinions on the ducks jerseys history. The rebrand they did with the ducks workmark logo wasn't great, but that jersey was good - and if they had used the webbed d with that from the beginning, those would have been fire. Totally agree. Have always thought that. I am also a bit tired of nostalgia. It's an easy way for people with no design style to pretend like they know what looks good. A lot of the time it doesn't look good, even if your nostaligia brain thinks it does.
The "flying D" logo is terrible. Most people do not know it is a duck's foot. The Might Ducks duck mask logo with eggplant and teal is god-tier.
Ducks fan here who prefers the original Mighty Ducks logo. Wouldn’t have minded if they just brought back the white/orange Reverse Retro (with black pants and the “D” as a shoulder patch), then make a black version of it to wear at home, and a non-vomit-inducing orange/black jersey with the “D” logo on the chest as a third. Props to y’all for liking the duck-foot even as someone who prefers the old look. Only buying one of these if they win in them.
A black version of the original jersey (RR2 style) would actually be a really solid look. About as good as that logo can do. Shame they didn't go that direction

I get the orange county connection but it's too much orange, it's going to be really bright contrasting with the white ice... i'm good with keeping orange but i wouldn't have made it the primary color.. i would have liked them to do some shade of green as primary with yellowish orange and black accents and maybe a new logo, but i do think the logo they did is an upgrade... i wouldve kept a throwback the mighty era as a third

Never been a fan of the 'mighty ducks' name OR logo, I genuinely thought (hoped) that when Disney sold the franchise that the new ownership would re-name the team to something better and more serious. Oh and I REALLY do not like the colour orange on hockey jerseys. Was hoping they might keep black as the main colour on the home jersey. The 'webbed D' logo is not great, but it's better than the disney duck logo!! Definitely NOT a fan of the re-brand........

It's fitting considering fanatics are in charge of jerseys next season so the jersey looking this bleh is right on brand. Like could've they have just reused their rr 2.0s and make a orange home version of it instead of whatever this is considered how perfect that design is and proves that anaheim can work with orange.

The jerseys them selves are nice imo but the overall home uniform is way too traffic coney... The one colour thing worked with the Sharks but not here imo

Hard to believe someone saw Nashville's head to toe yellow, and San Jose's head to toe teal, and thought: let's keep this train rolling! If a few more teams join in, we just might get a pack of highlighters.
Football has been going to monochrome single color highlighters for a few years now - if the NHL is trying to follow that trend, it's misguided and dumb because the two sports' aesthetics don't line up well 90% of the time

That logo is now 30 years old. You’ve got teams like NYR, TOR, PHI, BOS, DET, who never alter their looks and are celebrated. Now the ducks go back to an original 30 year old CELEBRATED, iconic logo and “iT’s nOt dIfFeReNt eNoUgH”…….. we can’t have new things…..original ideas…..

hockey UA-cam channels usually grow the game and further build the hockey community. Not this one….instead you (whether intentionally or not )isolate-a fan base for liking something you don’t.

I think with Anaheim, the hardest pill to swallow is that the team's look hasn't evolved from what started as a kids movie 30 years ago.
It went from Mighty Ducks, to Wild Wing, to wordmark, to WebMD, and now back to Mighty Ducks. Their current primary is good for a shoulder patch, but I think the logo needs to go in a different direction. A fresh look for a team that's getting a bit of a refresh as an organization, too.
I find it ironic that one of the pillars or fixed vs. growth mindset is thinking that it's too late for most people to learn and gain a new perspective, because ultimately, that's where the three of us are at with the Ducks organization.
What kills me is that the Ducks can look great, but they refuse to. Take a look at the evolution of the Quad City Mallards. They go from gimmicky and cute to start to a regal looking team in their current form. If a minor league can do it (and do it well), so can Anaheim: 1000logos.net/quad-city-mallards-logo/
I’m a HUGE fan of orange jerseys, as that is my favorite color. However, the pants need to be black, not orange.

I have never had much attachment to this logo, so its whatever to me, this is indeed the nostalgia age. But beyond that, the excessive orange and busy striping is what gets me with this, the all orange shoulders with no striping to break it up on the away jerseys in particular is just terrible. Not to mention the pants and helmets.
They just need the orange skates to complete the ensemble.
I prefer the web foot logo; the cartoon duck is fun but more appropriate for a minor league team. The black jersey you're wearing in the video is my favorite Ducks version by far. With these all-orange home unis, they're the Anaheim Mighty Pumpkins...

It’s possible I have an old VHS of a hockey game on ESPN where Al Morganti reports that the Anaheim team would likely be called the Express. Who knew when dizney ruined hockey in 1993 that they would destroy Star Wars 30 years later. After Fedorov and Niedermayer played for the quacks they were dead to me.

After all the hype that the Ducks were going to "modernize" their logo and look, this is such a let down. I personally was hoping that we'd see an entirely new logo, perhaps featuring a hockey playing duck that would have moved away from the original Disney version, in the same vein as the Penguins. What a missed opportunity to move forward for a new generation of SoCal hockey fans.

The logo is iconic you're just scared to admit it.
Man. I didn’t realize there were really this many haters. Haha. This dude said an EMBARRASSMENT to the league?….dramatic much. Relax. It’s a kids movie that was meant to get kids into hockey and it worked. … so well that it became a real team. And that team is now 30 years old. Oh yeah and they’ve won a Cup! First team to do so in California. Grow up!
