    Like my fitter always says, "if I cant fit my finger all the way through it, it ain't a big gap."

    I watched all four of the videos and I think I only saw hearing protection once. Safety glasses should have been on the entire time due to the close proximity of the teams to each other. Great competition!!

      @@rolandweldin8672 you need to go back to school and try to pay attention this time. Your grammar and run-on sentences make me sick and is probably indicative to the type of "real hand" that you think you are. I have always worn safety equipment because I grew up around dumbasses like you that didn't. I have my hearing, my eyes, and all of my body parts because of it. I commented on here because the young guys should be taught the right way and I meant in in a constructive manner. So, STHU and get your ass back in school!

    Airgas is a joke of a welding supplier. Tulsa give Red Ball Oxygen a chance. Best customer service you will find.

    Did they give the win to the wrong team? The winners said the other teams welding looked better, did I miss something?
    Also, what's up with the coaching while they're working in a competition setting?

    Real welders aren’t fitters/fabricators ,,,stop ruining the craft by combining the two and getting one paycheck,,,all you doing is making more money for everyone else....

      I tend to disagree. I think you devalue yourself as a worker when you act like a primadonna and think that as a real welder you shouldnt have to do the crappy stuff too. Its a part of the job, and fitting takes a lot of skill. I own my own business and work without a helper most of the time, so I have to do it all. I dont like grinding for hours on end or spending half the day at the chopsaw, but as I said its a part of the job. I guess I simply dont understand the logic behind your statement. If someone has multiple skills that add value to himself, how is that detrimental to a trade? If someone has the ability to cut and fit a complex part to a tight tolerance, and then throw down some beautiful welds on it, Id venture to say that he is a better welder than the guy who whines and crys and refuses to do anything except what he enjoys doing. "Real" welders are problem solvers, not complainers.

      @michaelbrantley8521 5 років тому +1

      If you can fit than you have no business welding. In my trade if you cant do both your worthless. Can't depend on someone 100% to fit for you.

      Welders are a dime a dozen. A good fitter makes the welder.

    • @tonyguerra7799
      @tonyguerra7799 5 років тому +1

      Hunter Doxtater that’s a load of shit that’s why are able to weld no matter what fit up,,,if the fitter made the welder they would always give us perfect fit ups
