I've seen watercolor monoprints where the wc was applied to a sanded plexi plate that had been coated with dish soap to help activate the paint during printing. In that tutorial, the paint was allowed to dry on the plate, then soaked and blotted printing paper was placed over the plate. Next, another sheet of paper was placed over the damp paper before the back of the paper was rubbed to transfer the image. That technique had a different effect than the effect you achieved. Yes, we have done that often in our classroom studio! Such a fun technique. This variation was to make it easier to print at home with watercolors.
