Clear Audio in the UK make speaker cables with OCC copper, they are not cheap per se but they aren’t silly money either. For those of us who don’t have the kit or inclination to make them, they’re a good company to look into.
Thanks for this. It is exactly the sort of thing I am interested in as a noob especially. I spend many hours trying to find info and it is hard to find starting points.
The purpose of adding rope isnt to avoid kinks (although it might help). It is to improve sound. Others can probably explain it better than i can. (see danny richies videos). He also uses some sort of tape on the ends.
You can get Canare 4s11 speaker wire for just over $1.50 a foot, it's 4ea #14 conductors so if you use one pair for the signal and one pair for the return you end up with #11 conductors of good quality wire for a good price. I terminated one end in spades and the other end in good banana plugs, they should both be copper or btass - not steel.
great honest channel one of the few who I take seriously , btw I have my own brand of speakers as well and provide you woods that will be excellent for speakers , custom logs chosen from lumber yard , usually used in instruments only but I have a few piles of them , 5yr aged , 2 yr aged , 6 months etc , I can send u a sample to try out and also make speaker feet and stands that dont isolate the speaker but couple it to the room , im in India so I can get this and also a box done for a lot less than Canada
I just want to tell u one thing u will appreciate , I have lived in America for 5 yrs during college and I can tell u life is not worth living there, so the water of everyplace is different and makes the taste of the vegetables and even the meat a lot different, I have been lucky enough to travel many countries and I can tell the order 1. Asia ( north india is hands down best place in this world I promise u) 2. Europe 3. Africa ( still pretty good almost like europe) 4. America/Canada - food grown and produced is not worth even trying, that's why so many food chains work in America, and basically the good food in America is made from European products, I would urge u to use water bottled in Europe, along with everything else like. I started out 15 years + ago with the old 27 pr. of Cat5e cable braided and it had similar specs. Now I see some advantages to this air core arrangement, but the disadvantages are even greater. The worst of all being its susceptible to being crushed tightened or loosened. Basically it will not stay stable. I paid a little bit of cash for some Cardis 101 cable and got s good or better sound and it is so much easier to handle, hide, mount off the floor...
I am doing a separate amp to the sub and to the main stereo speakers similarly to yourself but I am worried if the signal arrives at the same time or if it is slightly out of sync, it sounds better overall and I do this because my better amp doesn’t have the sub output like my other does plus, I like to blend the 2 how I like. But my ears aren’t to the level where I would notice if it was or not.
Thank you very much ! I believe these are the same ones sold by Danny Richie from GR research for a higher price tag. I knew they were available on AliExpress but i didn't know the exact name. Thanks !!!!
I got mine from aliexpress put a rope through middle like the GR trick.but I wouldn't say its that much better the van damme 4mm shotgun speaker cable.had better improvements with some power cable from aliexpress.
10 AWG is not common in Europe 😉 Closed are 4mm² (around 11.2 AWG) and above 6mm² (around 9.4 AWG). I use the 4mm² for almost everything. Mostly OFC cable. Even for my PA system (Seki cable black weather resistant) and Manax for indoor use. I like banana plugs for convenience. With thicker cable it is easier to use. You introduce an extra connection point but ok...
OCC stands for "Ohno Continuous Casting" and is a special process that is undergone to reduce the grain structure within the conductors. Normal copper wire has about 1500 grains per foot, while specially processed Linear Crystal copper wire has about 70 grains per foot.
China fake (KIMBER) It is not possible to believe that this is an OCC cable. The structure of the cable (7 wires of three diameters) does not match the original,The price is great and irresistible, but compare with the original KIMBER 12 TC, you will be surprised.

Strongly recommend adding 1/2 inch rope inside the cable, it avoid kinks.
will do :)

Any con in having a cable sleeve cover the Aliexpress-sourced cable?
I do not think of any con in having a cable sleeve cover

They should not be any delay but make sure the amps have similar gain as 1 may be louder at various volume

@@markclancy5371 Every system react differently depending on the gear.
No, they are not the same. GR research sells the cables with polyethylene insulation which is not available on Aliexpress.
Get Tellurium copper connector or pure copper plugs or use bare wires . Follow IACS conductivity. Brass conductors is 30% conductivity.

How is this 12TC different from Kimber 12TC? Do Kimber use better materials?
I have never seen the Kimber close in my hands To comment but I am sure these are not far off if not made by the same factory. But I could be wrong.
Kimber Kable 12tc, 8tc etc are the originals, and made in the USA only. The lookalikes on AliExpress are fake .
It's copper wires who cares as cost come first. But more power to you if want to be patriotic and pay more.
@@wric01 sure, np, I’m merely pointing out the facts. Ask me how I know, lol.
Hello, I follow the links and try to find 12TC Speaker Wire, but it seem it doesn't available anymore. Do you have another way to buy some please ?
I put a Amazon link down
Or search 12tc in AliExpress a lot cheaper
@@Gabster1 Thank's a lot for your answer.
i will bet dollars to donuts the claim by AliExpress said cables are OCC is false . have them examined by a metallurgist .
all wire is OCC that's how it is made! am I missing something what's the difference lol

All copper wire is made of one cast That's how It's made I don't see any difference, standard copper made in the same way
I don't take anyone serious, who speaks about High end cables. In most cases, any standard house hold cable will do fine.
