I counted. There are 29 beds including Maxon's. There are ~35-40 BOS on the Prydwn. However. This doesn't account for all of the Airport BOS or those roaming the commonwealth. The Police Station also has around 5 beds...
Ethan Oswell recon/salvage teams don't do half a mission and see its 7:30 and run halfway across the commonwealth for a bed they're gonna sleep on the ground
i think its like to be on a UBoot. In WW2 UBoots two man would have one bed together, is one of them sleeping the other is working so they dont have to sleep together.
As an Army veteran and avid Fallout fan I have to say that this is one of my favorite builds you have done. From the organization of rank in the sleep layout to the CQ desk you did a great job of capturing what I feel would be a very fitting military layout for this universe. I want to say thank you for all the work you put into your builds and videos. I have thoroughly enjoyed all you have done. I hope you are having a great holiday season and I look forward to your future posts. -Michael
@@thebluehybrid756 I guess but BOS are closer to the idea of military and army at least maxon and his division look to protect the people and make it safer even if they do want to steal and bully people out of crops from what I remember the enclave weren't as nice but I stand to be corrected on that
Few notes, the knights are basic soldiers, not officers, the upper rooms would be more suited for paladins and above. Knight lancer isn't a rank, lancers are vertibird pilots, knights are soldiers. That flag is actually Lyons flag if I remember correctly, so I'm not sure they would have that up. Other then that it looks great, I'm not to sure I'd be able to build something like that but inspiration I guess
Few notes for myself down the line, lancer knight is probably a rank as lancer do have ranks, and bos symbol with American stripes is still Lyons flag I'm still pretty sure
Raximous Prime, the Bos flag w/ the stripes are actually the West Coast Bos flag. Which makes sense because the new elder “Idolizes” the West Coast Bos. The Lyons flag has a Lyon in the middle of the sword FYI. -10 Months late to comment-
it took me 20 minuets to get you to realize you didn't build a bathroom during the stream, to the point where it looked like I was having a mental break down in the chat. never forget a bathroom or else chili night is hell. cheers to you oxhorn!
Dang oxhorn wish we had you building our barracks when I was on deployment can't tell you how many bombed out crap hole buildings I lived in. only thing you missed was the outdoor smoking post that was the nightly hang out for cigar smoking!
There are 3 Brotherhood soldiers doing that not 100 meters away Wolf, because that takes work for the modder, and none of them appearantly thought about it.
I built a BoS player home at the Red Rocket truck stop near Sanctuary on my BoS playthrough and a BoS "Museum", filled with desks, filing cabinets, etc at Abernathy farm. I like to think of that second settlement as the recruitment centre. Neither quite "works" however, but I have since added a lot more mods and have a lot more experience settlement building, so will be remodelling them soon. One thing I was proud of, however was my working Helipad at Red Rocket. I found that generally, the Vertibird transports tend to land near the fast travel marker for each settlement, so I build a raised area, placed some Vertibirds on it and left a blank space, where I placed the marker. Usually the Vertibird at least attempts to land somewhere near the Helipad. But I love your idea of a fixed barracks. Most of my BoS settlements are little more than field checkpoints. You've given me so many ideas to add more life to my BoS playthrough. Awesome work, Oxhorn :)
"I didn't want the soldiers to be spending their time playing games or gambling." What do you think we were doing with 90% of our time during the war? Working? :P Great videos by the way, I just subscribed last night and started binge watching your videos. For the officer room with the crappy view you could always turn it into a laundry room/showers. Most barracks have a built in laundry room, and how else are your officers supposed to wash their clothes? For the lower enlisted you could always replace some of the showers with a washer and dryer or two.
tazmania52d not all have a laundry room my barracks had the laundry room 1/2 a mile away on other side of the camp and the showers were a mile away from them
"Most barracks have a built in laundry room".... Never said all barracks do. And your talking about in country, not garrison. The kind of base he built is more like a garrison base then one you'd find in the box.
tazmania52d yes you are right but it's still funny remembering at 9pm finding someone asleep in the shower then waking them up covered in hair removal cream and cold water good times
I can barely make a decent house, but here you are. Making _decorated_ living quarters. Hell, I had no idea that Place Everywhere even HAD a rescale mode
Shrink all the things! I do the same thing. I shrink the garden plot things and put them on tables in my greenhouse. Love place everywhere! Love you too, Ox! I don't comment much but I always watch.
Good companion choice, I have Cait in my BoS playthrough as well, running around as a Brotherhood Knight in power armor. ROLEPLAYING ! Glad to see that I wasn't the only one that had the issue with no bathrooms or showers on the Prydwen - I wondered if on their journey to the Commonwealth they had to stop every day to send out search parties to check the nearby ruins for working canalization. Are you sure the BoS would want to have glass windows situated towards the city ? That's asking for some crazed raider sniper to take pot shots at them while they're eating or something. Although I have to ask if you though whether the barracks build by the BoS from premanufactured parts or is it a prewar building that was re-purposed by the Brotherhood once they arrived.
I’m not sure if I got a lucky bug, but I destroyed the BoS and for a long time I received the ‘You are not allied with this settlement” message at the airport. Then , one day, I was passing by, touched the workshop, and suddenly I was able to build. It’s a lot of fun having my main player home there, since the Brotherhood spawns there every once in a while and I get to have a nice little battle each time I come home. My settlement is super different from Oxhorn’s lol. I preder messy looking makeshift shelters. I placed a school bus with everything I need inside, and all the other space in my airport is either manufacturing equipment for butchering/recycling/nuke mine production or enclosed concrete cells filled with mole rat/insect/ghoul/super mutant/radscorpion traps.
One thing you could do to improve it a bit is too re-name the settlers to Brother knights, Scribes etc, and too make sure you don't get confused is put an 'S' in brackets next to there name to signify settler. Just an idea!
Oxhorn I found a great mod for power! It's called settlement electricity overhaul and it includes this little generator that makes it to where lights will work without any pylons or conduits wherever you place them! It also works for other things too.
I know I'm mad late but you should get the mod " you can crash on the couch" makes all the couches beds but in the bed section so you still have not ql couches but you have also clean variations of them too real nice mod and I think really add to the realism of settlements that people would actually sleep on the couch and leaves you much more space for settlers
Great build. I agree that for how big the BoS presence seems to be in the Commonwealth, they have very few beds (not to mention a total lack of lavatories) aboard the Prydwen. I've come to believe that they sleep in shifts and share beds, but still, bunkbeds would have been a better choice.
I use to think ya I'm pretty detailed in my builds and I do think of what the settlers would be able to have in such a settlement. I watch your videos and now I know I have a long way to go

I made the airport as a minutemen base to role-play that the minutemen were setting up base to spy on and eventually ambush the brotherhood, it was amazing

I love your Boston barracks as much as I like your Hangman's alley settlements (both versions). I think you get some BOS propaganda posters from GruffyDD's Signs and poster. I use them in my own bos settlements.
Funny bit with Cait randomly walking and ending up on the back of one of the soldiers doing push-up's. On one hand we can say that hey, this is totally in Cait's nature to make things a little tougher for others. But people do in real life actually practice this activity in gyms that are frequented by Strong Men, Weight Lifting Sports Competitors and Body Builders, although they do not stand on each others' back. they take turns sitting on each other's back when doing push-ups, and it's done with the specific purpose of using simple methods to add more weight to the exercise, thereby forcing muscle growth and greater strength. A year late but... The officer room that didn't have a view, I would have put the skylight above the bed... so they can star watch and try to give it a astronomer vibe... Just me though.
+Oxhorn , I have the same mats that you have (I got them from your list) but I am unable to assign my "soldiers" to the push up mats. Did I miss something?
On console during the first teleport to the institute I always work with the bos but elder maxon keeps getting stuck in that back room that I can't enter.
Hey Oxhorn, just a suggestion. I think maybe you want to put a spoiler alert on this because you have the main story line walking around behind you as you show this off.
Was wondering where the BOS most elite...u know the Paladins are housed and IDK maybe power armor stations and such...just a thought oh and weapon barrels and maybe the full displayable racks in senior officer quarters
hey oxhorn loved the video though it would be easyer if you could list the mods used as am trying to do a brotherhood playthrough, also where did u get the squires uniform i cant get them anywhere ingame
What mod gave you that Minigun turret with the Ammo can on it? i see below where some1 said it was SOE...but that mod doesnt add any new turrets to my game...plenty of new items...just no Turrets that i see

That’s exactly what a synth would ask!

Only critique is that with a BoS base, your guards should be in T60 PA.
I suppose. Some of the knights are in PA at the Boston Airport, and others are just in the uniforms.
Is hazing okay in the BoS? If so, is it okay to weld a BoS initiate into a basic suit of PA?

Cait must be quite light if the people doing push-ups can lift her up like that.
There's 8 on the platforms and 2 in the private quarters that's 10 on prydwn actually.
You could have used the bathroom stalls around the showers as well, it doesn't make much sense having the showers completely exposed if the toilets have stalls around them
Deamons well in the military showers and toilets are exposed and since the BoS are military remains then it makes sense
Portal2master I get that but he has the toilets with stalls around them anyway
It may be a barracks in name, however, the fact that there are men, women and even children together might call for a hint of privacy in the showers.
My question is how did you place down the plots for the farm because Boston airport dosnt allow crops to be grown
You should make the entrance to the barracks a powered door from the wasteland workshop DLC.
I'd be worried about getting sniped eating dinner if I was a BOS Knight. Charge of Quarters (guard stations for barracks) are usually in a center location and there's usually a morale welfare recreation area for "the dregs" ;P

the reason why the pridwin has few beds is because the main HQ of the bos is the citadel in fallout 3
But they still have more people than beds.

The officer room that didn't have a view, I would have put the skylight above the bed... so they can star watch and try to give it a astronomer vibe...
