I appreciated every minute of the video. I grew up in East Utica close enough to the station to hear the horns when trains left the station. I always wanted to be on one of the trains to see new places.
Merry Christmas to all the dogs, Vito, red, and Rosie they all look alike. They’re wonderful. I hope you have a wonderful, holiday and thank you for showing us the trains and be safe driving in the snow..🎅🏼🥰
Thank you for making and sharing the video. I enjoy the videos you make. Slightly disturbed by the experience of the lady in the wheelchair, it's done a lot better in Europe and the UK. Have a wonderful Christmas and thanks again for your work😊
We’re the black Impala to your right at 1:06. The kids love trains and we were enjoying some coffee. Connecting you to these videos was like a major discovery! 🤣👍 Keep up the great work. Love what you do, how knowledgeable you are, and how much fun you have doing it!
I'm in Porter Texas. I'm from Utica, and boarded an Amtrack in 78,to Grand Central, got a cab to Penn station, then south to Wilmington Delaware. They were renovating the interior of the train station at the time, for the then upcoming 80 winter Olympics. I was 19 then.
I came across this video looking for a recent config of the LSL westbound. Interesting to see the lift assist operation. Thanks for sharing it. Cool dogs too. 😀
Wow, that was a really LONG stop. Is it always that slow; there weren't that many people. Very interesting shots in Utica. I had no idea that the facility was that big even if parts of it are maybe not used now. And the MA&N + Adirondack equipment there, I've got to visit next summer. Happy New Year !
I had a wonderful holiday some years ago based in Lenox and travelled around extensively. The names and places you mention are familiar. Thank you and keep producing these personal and informative videos.
My Old Hometown from 1984 til 1991 !!! Had family there (all deceased except for 2 sisters & 2 cousins). Just got off the Lake Shore Limited couple of days ago going to New York City (New Jersey actually for my vacation). Anyway I use to hang out down there & got to know the Amtrak Ticket Agents who worked there (I think 🤔 they’re all retired now), hang out in the book store there, watch the endless parade of Conrail Freights pass thru the station !!! When I was there, 448/48 was always late coming no matter the season & rode in 1988 to Chicago for the summer to see family, 1991 to live permanently in Chicago. I now live in Northwest Indiana (next door to Chicago) but it’s good to see videos of my old stomping grounds, keep up the good work 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 !!!!
Great video, I bet you were freezing. I think we got some of your cold winter air and snow down here in Ohio. Haha! It's very cold with a little snow. Keep warm and safe, both you and Witold. Merry Christmas!
Wow so unorganized!! Normally they're johnny on the spot! Didn't even get the stool out I! I know sweeping snow! BB it thanks for the video! Always great content! Be well and be safe my friend
I've taken Amtrak from Utica to NY Penn station 6 or 7 times over the years. Why don't they raise that platform to make it easier to board the trains? That hand cranked lift thing they have seems a bit sketchy to me.
CSX owns the tracks. They are not in favor of high level passenger platforms where they run freight trains due to the potential of something striking a high level platform on a moving train that might have shifted in transit. They do allow high level platforms otherwise.
Feliz Navidad from your S Utica fan in Buenos Aires. !
That was cool never seen that before, the handicap entry like that. I enjoy seeing other stations especially the old historic buildings.
I was on the Lake Shore Limited that arrived at 8:45 last night. The trains have been operating at 100% capacity for the holidays.

Merry Christmas! Love the videos--even in the snow, and love the dogs. It looks like Witold has his own little pack.
Looks like a lot of old repurposed industrial building in that area!! Very nice footage!!

Surprised at the number of people getting off and on.
Hi there! Greetings from Tonawanda NY!
Merry Christmas!
That is a LONG platform. Must have been many riders...

That would make a lot of sense
