This is such a cool song and a great performance by the band and of course Freddie. I am so glad to see you doing Queen Sundays again, I have missed your reactions.

Your smile says it all. The magic of Queen is all four members. Roger Taylor who wrote this song and harmonized with Freddie, Brian whose lead guitar is iconic, John Deacon who killed the base and fabulous Freddie!

Welcome back, glad to have your positive energy and smile back! I know a lot of people on here would not recommend Queen songs from hot space album other Under Pressure. However there are several really good songs on this album, one of my favorite is Cool Cat, Freddie's falsetto is beautiful on this song. Check it out sometime!

So glad you're back! Great reaction as always. I've mentioned before that I'm a Queen nerd, so I have a list of the songs you've reacted to and the ones I'd like to see. This week's suggestions are: You're My Best Friend. John wrote the song for his soon-to-be wife, who he is still married to almost 50 years later. Second suggestion is another Deacon song, Another One Bites the Dust. I seriously can't believe these two haven't been done yet, but unless I'm missing something, I don't see them. Both were huge hits!
Wembley + Queen IS magic. Live Aid/This tour and the tribute concert. ALL music history never to be done better.
Great song that Roger wrote for the movie Highlander. It was inspired from a line in the movie when Duncan said 'It's a kind of magic". Guessing it was due to the fact that Duncan got to live for a thousand years (as it alludes to in this song). I also LOVED the official video, it was all magic!! Thanks for your usual respectful and thoughtful reaction. Welcome back!

I was lucky to be at Wembley for this, what an awesome experience it was! The day started with a new and up and coming band in their fist concert in UK - the wonderful INXS.
Followed by the Clash (not my cup of tea) followed in the pouring rain by Status Quo. Then the stunningly brilliant Queen to finish it all off.
There were dads only there keeping an eye on their daughters and they were rocking by the end.
Goosebumps all over just having this memory.

So nice to have you back! I highly recommend the following for some deep cuts that you will love: "All Dead, All Dead" is a Brian sung song and the video is touching. "It's Late" is my favorite Queen song. There are only lyric videos for it. And do the video for "Innuendo". It is Bohemian's bastard son.

If you wiki Brian May, down near the bottom, you’ll find Guitar Style explaining that Brian and his father made the guitar he uses (Red Special) and also uses a six-pence coin (size of a quarter) as a pick! That’s how he gets the Brian May sound you can recognize every time!

It is a popular Music Video/Song from 1995, witch ran to Nr. 1 Top-10-Charts in Europe just after beeing released. Freddy was already dead, but had recorded it, when he was at last very ill, but still wanted to sing anything the Queen members wrote for him. (He asked them to do so!) And: He wanted the Queen Members to do whatever they want to do with it.
So they made another hit (again) ... Rest in peace Farrokh (=Freddie).

I’m not keen on the studio version but I love the Wembley version. I think the filming on the Saturday concert is better though. I mean wow, there are only three of them playing instruments but they sound incredible. The standard of musicianship is unequalled. Freddie’s voice and movements are just a joy and Rogers backing vocals are amazing. Thank you Roger for writing such a great song .
If you haven't heard Impromptu, give it a listen. The first time I heard it, I was literally startled when he went from very high octave range to extremely low octave note in the blink of an eye.

Cant remember if there is one on the original but I dont think there was.
Freddie added base, guitar and re arranged the song.
Though he could have given an overall idea of what the additions should be rather than rigid composition it hasn't been explained

Theres a Queen version which is 4.25 the film version was 3.20
Their single Freddie version 4.43
I wouldn't say theres a proper solo on the other version theres also a far more prominant bass line
But he also re arranged the structure
Yes its still Rogers song which he gets full credits for
But the film version and the single version have a very different sound/feel to them
Even Roger gives Freddie credit for making it a hit
Which his version probably wouldn't have been
