    it's funny that yagi, by the kanji, means something like "mountain sheep". japanese is a very creative language

      How about their word for porcupine: 山荒 ( やまあらし ) - yamaarashi - which comes out as something like "mountain vandal / robber" -- or, even funnier, possibly "mountain troll," given that the "arashi" has also, in more recent times, taken on the meaning of (internet) troll. 😛
