What a great month of books! I really enjoyed your wrap up. You always put books on my mind that I would never have thought about. The Deluge seems like something I need to explore. Happy New Year.
Thanks Heidi. I have been waiting impatiently for you to talk about The Deluge. I can’t thank you enough for alerting me to this book. I too am reading it a chapter maybe two at a time but now at 3/4 of the way through am impatient to see what happens. This subject very dear to my heart and I often despair at how government and big business etc formulate policies and solutions and then shy away when the going gets a bit tough. Anyway good reading month as usual for you. Best wishes 😊and happy new year 🥳
@@penelopegough6050 I also worry about this lack of ability to do hard things that our government and culture finds ourselves in. It seems people would rather bury their heads in the sand rather than confront reality.
I found the Elizabeth Rush book eye opening. It's been six years since publication so I wonder if the sea rise has advanced more quickly than predicted and also what is happening now with those communties? Thanks for your clear explanations of what you enjoy in books!
You had a big month, I'm glad you got to this wrap up even if slightly late. I've listened to The Road to Dalton and the sequel in the past month or so. I really enjoyed both of them as small town stories, even though I've never bean to Maine. I do love a small town story like this with a group of characters, similar to stories set in an apartment building. The Heat Will Kill You First sounds fascinating. Sadly Michael Moseley died of heat stroke/exposure this year. I must get to Stephen Markley sometime. I have Ohio on my shelves, that's big enough to be intimidating for me, The Deluge more so.
@@LouiseReader I’m glad the sequel to Dalton was enjoyable for you! I love a small town story as well. The Deluge seems intimidating because of the size, but it is such a good read!
Hello Heidi, Happy Holidays! That was really interesting. You have a great microphone: I kept looking over to my left to see what the heck was going in my room! I don't have a dishwasher in here! 🙂
Loved hearing what you read! Have you read Hannah Short's book? It's on POI, but I think it has so much info on perimenopause/menopause in general. She's also just the absolute best person! Oooh I own The Deluge, but haven't gotten to it yet. I think I bought it at the Barnes and Noble sale last year! Oooh I love multimedia stuff! Heidi, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas :)
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022 and it was in the high 90's for estrogen and progesterone fed type breast cancer. I have to take anti hormone pills now to keep it from coming back. Also breast cancer does not run in my family. I always blame my birth control pills that I took for 12 years and were full of hormones. I would be highly skeptical of that book.
@@jammiez2805 I am very sorry to hear about your experience. The book does discuss that hormone therapy is not appropriate for everyone and that there are some folks at high risk.

What a stack of great reads you had!!!
@@fitjock1 November was a great reading month!
Hi! I am right in the middle of Where the Forest Meets the River, the 2nd Dalton book. Loving it so far! Beautiful writing!
@@terrycagle9790 Glad to hear the sequel is good! Looking forward to getting to it soon!

@@RovingReader hello! I did have a nice Christmas. I hope you did as well. No, I haven’t read Hannah Short’s book.
I haven’t tried an Erik Larson book yet. Which is your favourite?
@@amylynnm324 My favorite Larson is The Splendid and the Vile which is about Winston Churchill.
@ Will add that to my TBR-thank you!
“The setting is a main aspect of the story for sure.” No pun intended? 😂
@@alldbooks9165 I noticed the pun while I was editing….totally unintentional! 😂
