      @@respectable-username It's not what he says, but what is implied. Yes, matter and energy is basically been reused everytime. That's just how it is. But that has different implications depending on your worldview, for example what you think a person is.
      Let me explain: if you think a human is a temporary arrangement of common elements, then the fact that those elements will survive you it has no special signification. But if you think a human has 'something' (a soul, for example) that makes it fundamentally different from any arrangement, then then the survival of that 'something' has important significance.

    • @respectable-username
      @respectable-username 2 роки тому +3

      @@juanausensi499 if you take certain quantum theories, an energy within an organism being considered its "soul" wouldn't be TOO far off. It's like reincarnation without shared consciousness. It'd be impossible to retain the consciousness when your energy is being consumed by several different things anyways, and it serves a better purpose just fueling the organisms that consume you. Not that there's any choice in the nature of the universe, but still. Neither case would be wrong to think it as a sort of reincarnation or just a natural process past one's final breath. A lot of modern philosophies do draw from quantum theories, so really it's just about perception.

      Yes its very sad and scary. My sister had a psychotic break when she was like 18. Her brain was going so fast she was up for days thinking she was someone else with the same name who was an author. This was an actual person that existed but somehow she had convinced herself it was her. She thought there were people making a documentary about her and that traffic lights were camera lights. People would visit her in her mind that weren't actually there. Ive never had anything like it but i imagine it being like being stuck in a really bad loop on acid but for like months. Unfortunately most people have no knowledge of this and cant tell when someone is in this state of mind. Pretty much living in an intertwined alternate reality. She ended up in the hospital for a couple months which is another horrible place to be they seem to just drug everyone until they can barley walk or talk and loose all their personality and turn into a drooling drone. Luckily shes been fine since, but unfortunately a lot of people end up back that way again and again. Hopefully this actor gets some help before they let him go out and embarrass himself some more. Most people are just laughing thinking this is funny but really its not and quite serious.

      Too many people these days automatically discount anything that's labeled a "conspiracy theory" due to the phrase all but being transformed into a dirty label by those that dislike prying eyes and critical minds. And, by this becoming commonplace, is even more harmful in general than having some people believing in the ones that are plainly absurd.
      Society should be required to have a healthy skepticism. Reason being, if they don't, it allows those who are actually conspiring to get away with doing so. All the while with the blessings of a willfully ignorant public.

    The theory of gravity isn't actually the full explanation for why the universe has a pull to mass, come to find out. Gravity is primary, but not consistent enough. Even on earth, there are gravitational fluctuations. Gravity and electro-magnetism working together are the reasons we stay on a spinning globe that orbits the sun, and which the solar system travels around a supermassive black hole in the center of our galaxy, etc etc etc. And in the end, it's all labeled a 'theory' as there is, thus far, no way to prove gravity aside from the symptoms of it. There's no way to point at gravity and say, "There it is!" We can only point at an object and say, "There it is, because of gravity!"

      No. NO. Electromagnetism plays no role in orbits or rotation. The only role they play is as a sort of shield to bounce harmful rays away from the planet.
      "it's all labeled a 'theory'" Yes! A scientific theory. Which is something that is challenged and expanded and put through every scrutiny and still stand as the best-known explanation. However. Gravity as also a law. Law Of Universal Gravitation? No? When you think in terms of gravity, such as Newton's meaning mostly the attraction between mass.
      Einstein has a more accepted explanation for gravity, which is discussed in his theory of relativity. Which was what Terrence was actually using when he described Gravity the way he did. As an effect rather than a force. It's caused from the curvature of spacetime. The Theory of Relativity is another theory that has been widely accepted by most.
      When you call something just a theory in science, it's kind of misspeaking. It's not really speculative or a stand in for hypothetical, like normal everyday speech. Theories are some of the most tested ideas in science, and until something explains the processes better, it remains as our best known explanation.
      "There is no way to point at gravity and say, "there it is!"" Cavendish is like am I joke to you? Of course, you can't point and see gravity, but it's measurable through a few different means.
      Sadly, Terrence actually does seem to be pretty intelligent and to understand some pretty hard to digest concepts. But they seem to be falling victim to the Dunning-Kruger Effect. That's a cognitive bias where people with limited knowledge or competence in an area greatly overestimate their own knowledge or competence. Basically smart enough to know a little and too stupid to not know they aren't an expert, but they act like one anyway.

    • @catpoke9557

      You're misinterpreting the meaning of 'proof.' Proof isn't just physically seeing an object, it's also physically seeing the effect. Otherwise we couldn't prove air exists. Gravity IS proven just by seeing things fall. What isn't proven is the CAUSE of gravity.

    5:03 actually, i'm sorry, but at face value "gravity is an effect, not a force" is not necessarily a crazy thing to say, and does not in fact "disprove gravity" or conflict with the present consensus among physicists. it's just a really poor way to explain it. gravity is the only one of the fundamental forces of the universe to not have a known messenger particle associated with it (though it has a named hypothetical quantum, the graviton), and there's some schools of thought suggesting that it's merely a biproduct of the distortionary effect that mass has on the fabric of spacetime, not a "real" thing that you could collect or generate like you can with photons. so in the basic sense of "an influence that can change the motion of an object" yes, gravity is a force, but in the sense of "quantum fields of the universe with a corresponding messenger particle", jury's still out. it sounds like Terry just skimmed through some pop science articles and didn't understand at all but thought it was all very deep and interesting

    To be fair, gravity literally is not a force, it’s just spacetime bending on itself which creates the illusion of a downward pull. This has been acknowledged in the science/astrophysics community for over 100 years 😒

      To be a little more specific. Under Newtonian physics, Gravity is a force. Under Einsteinian relativity, gravity is the bending of space. Under quantum mechanics, idfk. I think people are still looking for graviton particles but have yet to find them.

He thinks he does but that’s just the psychosis talking. I did very similar things that I saw after I got help and got better and realized it was actually a bunch of nonsense that made sense to no one but me at the time. I was so passionate about it just as he is displaying. I pray he can get the help he needs. Going through a psychotic episode and the aftermath is severely traumatic. @@PathfinderLumen you actually have to come up with explanations that make more logical sense than the original ones. 1x1 does not equal 2 no matter how much you'll try to explain it. When you are multiplying an object by something, you are not multiplying by the same object, you are multiplying it by an imaginary property. therefore when you have 1 apple, you multiply it by a number that is not an apple. 1 apple X 2 does not mean 1 apple X 2 apples. If i have 2 Dollars, and i multiply it by 2, I'm not multiplying 2 dollar by 2 dollars, i am multiplying 2 dollars by an abstract concept that is 2.

    • @KronStaro
      @KronStaro 2 роки тому

      @@PathfinderLumen there alot of things that need to be reexamined in science, because a lot of those things do not hold when tested, for example: the theory of evolution is not based on any facts, and is an irrational theory because it is not theorized on actual events that were ever observed in nature, in fact the observable events in nature do suggest that the TOE is wrong. So yes, some things should be questioned, but not things that have are unquestionable. Math in its current form, as a working framework is not wrong, there may be new types of framework to replace math in the future, but 1x1 is a basic concept in math that makes it work, you cant question a working property of a working framework.
      When you add things, you are adding actual items together, when you multiply things, you are not multiplying the actual items by more items. Multiplication is an abstraction of addition, where addition can be considered as a factual event of actual items and not an abstraction.

      open mind is good, but being delusional isn't. you have to question things that are questionable, but not things that are are absolutely true.
      1x1 = 1 is true because it was made to be true, because it is a mathematical description of quantities, it cant be false because it wasn't derived, but invented to be so.
