    CZECH NYMPH
traditional structure of a Czech nymph changing size and weight can be used in many ways.
although its appearance coincides more with some larvae Tricoptera in many environments they can imitate Plecoptera nymphs of Austroperlidae family, as well as a variety of aquatic beetle larvae.
It is excellent as "anchor nymph" in a system together with other nymph drop which can be equal or smaller.

I saw my first Czech about 20 years ago. It had 2 ribs. First the body was ribbed with wire, the shellback was tied in at the head of the fly and then counter ribbed with mono and the shellback was darkened in the thorax area with a black or brown magic marker. Later on I think they started added a hot spot of pink or orange dubbing right before the dark thorax. Many thanks to the Poles who started all this with their woven nymphs, leader systems and methods. It certainly has evolved into quite a number of unique nymphing strategies.

Really nice fly Ruben, you do make it look easier than I know it is. I tie myself and have learned from you. I use the plastic from the hook bags for a scud back too sometimes. If I need a color on it, I just color the inside that goes against the body. It stays on well. I wanted to ask you why you use black lacquer on your flies instead of just varnish? Is the advantage that you only have to apply one coat? Just curious. Sean
