Willing to answer questions about the game of course from what I played! I know a lot of people will be wondering about substories and whether they're with a centralised NPC like Akame or not and frankly I can't give you an answer for this one! With my hands on we had a bunch of substories already going so they were already active or finished! I personally hope that they're just around the map again and maybe if I managed to get to Honolulu I would have found one or two, but this game has a LOT of content. I wanted to focus on the new stuff and feel out the combat styles (as well as ship stuff) as i'm very mechanics driven
Not sure if you got to mess with the ring system at all but if you did, did you see if any of the rings had bonuses outside of just number buffs? Were there special effects on any of them almost like say dark souls/remnant rings? Or was it all “electric resist/+200 attack”?
@@drumsock8355 I did and there are. I'm not sure if I mentioned it in the preview, but you know the bracelet of the four devas? Try the rings of the four devas :D Basically equip them all, get those effects etc. So there's definitely equipment like that in the game, we just didn't have access to that many for obvious reasons
@@Froobs thanks so much!!! I skimmed through the video as I feel like I’ve already seen so much so I probably missed it, I just wanted to know about the rings because it’s a neat idea to add to the brawler games
Just want to ask a question in regarding the Ship Combat, how reliable is the Rocket Launcher in terms of dealing with bigger ships? While I see it does take out a smaller ship in one shot, just curious to see if taking out bigger ships would be faster to use the Rockets instead of the Ships Arsenal itself.
Damn dude, congrats! so glad Sega is actually looking out for people who are real fans of their games. You are so passionate about RGG games, so it's nice to see Sega treating their fans nicely like this.
@@systemrecords9708 Yeah, glad that Froob got invited. But Leon on the other hand... Sega is very good at pretending the biggest Yakuza's fan doesn't exist.
@@uoal227Problem is Leon, to my knowledge, lives in Bahrain. Froob gettings a hands on is more manageable because the event was held in London so getting him there would be easier than having to handle the flights and hotel costs for Leon.
@@uoal227 Nah I can explain this one and slightly do in the video. Usually with content creator events there's a lot of budgeting to go around. There was a LAD Ishin one back when that came out that I wasn't invited too, but my friend Shenpai was. Reason was twofold 1) Location. Shen was extremely close to where the event was being held hence why they were invited and I wasn't 2) Budget. Sometimes events will have a budget where they pay for content creators to go over to play the game. You'll see this a LOT with the bigger content creators playing some of the biggest franchises like final fantasy for example. For this event it was set in the UK and was all UK content creators invited. I can guarentee you for example that RGG will be putting on an event or two in the US for their US content creators. For Leon (and my fellow Yakuza 4 members in Gokudoni and SnowiestAngeman) it's mostly their location and it sucks that they can't make it because of that
What an awesome break down, I did notice the direct mention sea creatures to fight, I’m sure it will be more than giant squids to fight out there I just can’t wait to experience a fun pirate game finally after the likes of AC Black Flag.
Look...in the water...it's Skull N Bones No, it's Sea of Theives Wrong, losers! It's Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii!!! Ubisoft could never achieve anything close to this even with 10x a budget and 15x the staff. Goes to show that money alone can't buy passion, vision and talent. RGG just keeps winning and I'm here with my Takoyaki just enjoying the long ride.
So excited to see some of the side stuff, equipment, and how Gaiden-esque it is. I can't wait to get my hands on the game so I can do some science for NG+ 👀
FROOB! THE RETURN OF THE KING! I’m so glad to hear you like it! The ship combat was a big question for me but if it has your approval then I’m all in. Since I saw the reveal the pure idea of this game has had me unbelievably excited for the fun potential. I can’t wait to get my hands on this game, and I know your speedruns will be super fun to watch as well. Thanks for the work you do and I’m so glad you got this opportunity!
Same! I really like RGG's dubs (Everyone says the good ones started at Judgment, but hey here's like the third thing i'll praise Fist of the North Star for - it has a real good dub.) and Matt Mercer is a phenomenal VA. I think the problem is a lot of people are gonna compare him to Ugaki and the issue is he'll never hit that level. Not that that's a bad thing. I genuinely think Matt can take Majima into his own. I think we're all expecting some kinda plot related stuff with the amnesia and coming back from it and in RGG fashion it'll be nice and hard hitting and I think *that's* where Matt will shine. As far as the rest goes I kinda hope they just let him...Go all out. Let him go wild. That'll be a good Matt Mercer Majima.
I am now *especially* glad you were able to sort out the tax stuff before this so that this’ll hopefully drive you some additional revenue on here. Great video and breakdown!
I actually got an email from UA-cam about Tax stuff the night I was working on this and went "Oh no not again." THANKFULLY it was just my tax reports for the last year LMAO. I'll be back to proper content on youtube now going forward. This has spurred me to finish some ideas I have in mind (Especially as i'll have a lot more time to figure out some issues like why my webcam in this is *really* washed out and some small weird instances like audio cutting out for 2 seconds) but unfortunately one of the big ones is dead. I did an Infinite Wealth skill + enemy rando that was absolutely supurb and I have parts 1-3 saved, but for some reason the finale is gone. I'm pretty confident I saved the vod, but as I can't find it I guess I didn't so unfortunately I can't finish that video. A shame because the final randomised boss was legitimately the most perfect and meta thing that could have happend. But this should be the catalyst to at least push me to do edited content a bit harder. Use it as a nice springboard. I've got some nice ideas in mind that I just need to finalise the concept for then put into an idea
By any chance if you fought bosses, can you do all the crazy juggles on them too? That was a big issue i had in gaiden where Kiryu's kit worked better on regular enemies than bosses
I didn't fight any proper story bosses as I was staying away from the story sadly, but in terms of the stronger enemies around the map (like the very first guy fought in this video) they can absolutely be juggled. just ask the poor guy who got juggled by my giant summonable monkey. god i love this series.
Glad to hear your first-hand thoughts and looking forward to tearing things up myself next month! By the way, you mentioned someone copying Amon's moves at 11:14, but do you recall which Amon? They've had a bunch of different movesets in the past, and I thought they were themselves mostly reused from other characters, though often with interesting gimmicks.
I don't, but one of his moves was absolutely the backflip from 3 (and others) Amon and one combo was...I wanna say it was one of the more recent brawlers - non gimmick/weapon. Funnily enough I think I mentioned that you'd *see* that NPC in my footage, but unfortunately I had to cut that part for time purposes! They're just a random dude (I think their name unironically is just Robert) chilling in Madlantis. Y'all will easily find him when you play
really excited after hearing your thoughts on it . only have 2 questions . 1 does the game have a hard juggle limit like gaiden ? 2 you said the game ran well on ps5 in terms of frame rate . i assume this was base ps5 and not pro i have to ask how does it look visually because as great as IW was hawaii in that game was often blurry on the ps5 version .
I know you didn't mention playing the coliseum in the video, but just in case: can we still play as other characters there, like in Gaiden? Also, are the sea exploration and ship controls comparable to FOTNS: Lost Paradise with it's wasteland and buggy? Seeing the ship drift around made me dread that they based it on the buggy.
Main captain of the ship? Not sure. But you can absolutely add them to your crew to man cannons, be on a boarding party etc. I sadly didn't get to try the indepth colloseum stuff as it was behind story and I was kinda avoiding that. Nah the buggy is ass. Ship controls are tighter without being too tight. Very intuitive too with some nice context clues like an audio ding for when an enemy ship is alongside you to use your cannons (in case your camera is looking away) and a visual indicator when looking at the enemy. It's good fun without being overly tuned
@@Froobs Thanks for that! Also, just out of curiosity, were there any other Yakuza content creators in the event?
