@@ynot6781 But even at an average height he could touch his forehead to the rim, which means his hand would be between 12-6 and 13. BTW, I don't believe that is the case. His two foot jumping ability was over 50". I haven't found anything that verified his best recorded vertical jump from a standstill, but it's unlikely that he gained an extra 10" or more by getting a running start.

Hahaha. There's a big difference between highest jumper in the world and reach. They need to measure how high his feet go. I'm assuming this guy is well over 6'
+Ryan Smith Agreed Ryan. His arm span and height are both great. He does probably have the highest reach but we could never be sure about the his vert.
Figuring out his vertical is easy if you know how high he can touch (presumably 13') and how high he can touch just standing (no jump). You just subtract the difference. 13 feet is 156 inches. According to the Draft Express website, the average standing (no jump) reach for a 6' 9" player, with shoes on, is 9' or 108 inches. 156 minus 108 is 48". This obviously assumes he actually touched 13 feet (I don't know how official the measurement was) and that he's 6' 9" with an average NBA players standing reach. 48" is incredible. There are very few people that can jump that high.
+Russ Tanner Yeah that's a way to figure out his approximate vertical but standing reach varies considerably between players so by using average standing reach there's still a range of several inches, maybe up to 8 inches or so. I just wished they measured his standing reach in this video.
don't forget to subtract around half a foot because when you jump, you jump off of your toes which means your a little higher up than when your just standing flat footed. you would have to stand on your toes to see your ground reach
Dj Sarandos That's not how they measure vertical leap. Vertical leap is measured by taking your standing reach and subtracting that number from the highest point you can touch after jumping.

It also helps that with his hands out stretched he's probably over 8 feet alone. So a 4ft vertical at 6ft4 isn't very good at all. Look at Spud Webb. That's a high flyer!
That’s the most retarded statement i’ve ever heard. Your vertical is not made larger or smaller by your height. God that’s a stupid comment. Only your highest touch is, but since that’s directly related to your reach (max touch - reach) the vertical measurement is the same all around, measuring how high you get off the ground. And considering that, a 48” vertical for a 6’4” guy is WAYYYY fucking more impressive than a 48” vertical for a 5’7” guy. Spud is TINY, and it’s much easier for his body to produce the forces necessary to fly that high. If being taller made your vertical higher, than guys like tacko fall would have 60” verticals when in reality they barely break 20”

2:22 his head is on the square on the backboard OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
EJ Sirngot wow wth lol
What's even more amazing, Earl Manigault was only 6'1''.
Mans looked at least 6’5
@@lockinn-8612 😂😂😂😂
6'9
What about Dennis Johnson
Exactly... We superhuman god made us in his image.. We are the supreme being.
3:25 "this brother jumped over 13 feet... That's over two people."
Lol this guy has no idea what he actually just saw or what actually happened or what he just said. If he jumped 13 feet he would be like Mario brothers busting coins out of the sky because that would actually be magic. 13 feet... Lol.
lol ikr
I literally laughed at this comment for 2 mins straight. lol.
But, can he dunk it? And/or play Smoke on the Water?
ua-cam.com/video/qkGPAAl7hYw/v-deo.html yes.. he was a pro
I can most definitely salute that, they tryin to sale that like its gonna get him into the nba, evidently he's not that good if waistin away his days touchin cow bells.
Artis Gilmore back in the 70's took quarters off the top of the backboard.
@Nill Gddy true but I thought Artis Gilmore was like 7 foot tall.
bruh he can dunk wit his shoulder😂
Damn I use to pray to GOD 4 hops like this😂😂😂
I like how the voice over was like "that's like two people. He's jumping over two people".
No he's not. He's slapping the guy on top on the forehead. Im sure he could jump over one person, but this whole video wreaks of inaccuracy.
So many haters well let me see you do it!!!
Roy Orkes Jr. i yave done it
but we dont boast about it like he did
@@dawsonleonardi5053 that's very impressive if you done it I know I can't but I felt like the crowd did more boasting than him kind of like they were proud of him
@@dawsonleonardi5053 no you didn't. he was the first.
Lol.. Idc where he can reach. if someone 8 inches shorts is launching their feet at a higher level than technically they are higher jumpers. I think Vince Carter straight out of college could out jump this guy.
eggzackly...thats what eye waz say'n...how tall iz dude on here tho?...
cauz Michael Wilson from memphis did tha same thang but he waz 6'5" (54or55 inch vertical )
No kidding.. I've seen countless nba players get up that high and they were way shy of 7 foot. I remember watching Vince Carter a few times before his injuries and that dude was getting way up there. Then that dunk over that 7 footer in the Olympics. Someone that's 7 ft and athletic I expect jumping that high but when a dude that is 6-4 to 6-6 is doing it.. it's something special
Highest jumper in the world title is based on one's vertical leap with the inches of their feet off the floor. Not where ones hand hits. If everyone was the exact same size and reach we could do where their hand hits. But that isn't the case
+Brad Carter aw yeah, way more mpressiv when cats ain't 6'10 or whateva...
cauz eye uze'ta tell dudez if eye waz 6'7/ 6'8" @least, it woulda been super over lol...& when eye play'd n high skool & college my vert waz 47/48nchez...
but nah, not takin nutn from homeboy on here, but if he7feet..dats tall az hail lol
+marcus. I bet he's at least 6'10"
Imagine if he jumped off two feet
You jump higher off one foot
spud webb is the highest jumper
ali rekani Mugsy....
Nate Robinson
I can barely jump over a quarter
don't feel bad. I need a running start 2 leap over a dime.
lol,quarter to thick....i can barely jump over a dime......lol
that's because you're too busy trying to pick it up and put it in your pocket...lol Just kidding :)
Keep practicing.
NFL player Jared Cook in Highschool could touch the top of the backboard and he is 6ft 5.
shut up nigga
Jalen rose: HIS EYES ARE LEVEL WITH THE RIM!!!!!
Meanwhile this man in the middle of nowhere has his shoulders level with the rim
Nan I'm 5'9 and can touch 14 feet
We’ve been doing it all wrong. Police need to wear referee stripes. Everyone listens and obeys. No issues.
Insane!!!!! Crazy hops made it look easy
that is sick
but id like him to go to sports science or guiness and make this official
THIS IS NOTING BLAKE GRIFFANS HEAD CAN TOUCH 12 FEET THIS GUY CAN ONLY TOUCH 13 FEET WITH HIS HAND NOT HIS HEAD
+Ronald Hiciano because Blake is taller
True but nate robinson jumped over shaq
Good job bruh, but what impresses me is jumping over a 7 footer and flushing it in the Olym while the whole world watched.
"AaAaAaAaAahh"
Is it me or does the announcer sound like that one guy from benchwarmers
Or Bruce buffer of the ufc😂
well really he only jumped like 6 feet as he is like 7 foot soooooooooo??
Only?
they do if they black a blacks can jump
*JUMP UP AND GRAB THE TOP OF THE BACKBOARD AND HOLD ON TO IT WITH TWO HANDS.ONLY THEN WILL I BE IMPRESSED!!!*
KING & QUEEN lmao
Can you just touch the net?
Why you can't do that nor have you ever seen anyone else do it.
A gift from GOD!!!
Enjoy my brother.🙏🏿🙏🏿🏀🏀🙏🏿🏀👑🦁🐾💪🏿💪🏿
