Wandavision may have taken inspiration from it but is more likely an original idea since the context between the two scenes and characters is quite a bit different.

It was a bit hard for me to watch.
The television broadcast of that event especially was a reminder of a tragic school shooting event in my home country. Seeing my childhood cartoon characters getting involved in such an event was a reminder of that. Idk why, but a whole grown ass man is crying right now. When magneto gives rogue a final look, rogue finally being able to touch gambit but not feel him, the inability of rogue to confess to gambit that he’s the one she chose, magneto speaking to leech in German. This episode was very disturbing.
