I'm Posting these to track my progress as a rider, not really for entertainment. I think it will be neat to look back in a year to see the improvements I've made over time. My goal is to get 50 hours of seat time this year and enter my first race. This is my 7th time on the bike with 7.5 hours of total seat time at the start of this video. I'm very aware that my skill level sucks and I'm open to suggestions on drills and ways to improve! You guys all ROOOCK and I hope you have a great week 🤘

Good job Mike.
It seems like it's time to move on to a new terrain/location for a slightly different challenge to help expand the experience.
Keep it up.
Fun to watch
For sure - I am excited to go to different parks. For convenience, this spot is awesome since its within an hour but I plan to hit other spots when I'm able to 🤘
Hey Mike, I gave you a few good tips on your last video on arm pump and control. Find that post for those tips. For this video I'll give you a couple more. Get with a few guys and in that grassy part of that open area, create a figure 8 and all of you follow the same exact line. Eventually you guys will carve out a good rut that you can learn a LOT from. Repetition to the point of boredom is how you really learn something. When you get a chance, go visit a local track. If anything to just watch and get a feel for how the track is and how they run things. If there's a practice day, bring your bike. You don't need to be a pro to practice. It's also a safer place to ride because there's more people around you and medics at the track. You can make a lot of good friends at the track too.
I once had a great-grandmother who could cycle fast through the forest. You are doing well, keep going and you will become a champ.
😂
I’m buying a 2014kx250f here in a couple weeks I’m a noob too when it comes to bikes so seeing your progress gives me hope keep up the great work love the content 👍😂
Sections of sand have been my biggest nemesis in learning how to ride. I found squeezing the bike with your ankles and legs sitting back on the seat and applying steady throttle and looking ahead like you mentioned makes the bike much more stable.
If you havent already, it would be a good idea to plug your weight, bike, terrain and other info into the racetech spring calculator. I have a feeling your bike might be a bit undersprung for you. Getting the right springs can really boost confidence when everything's handling as intended.
You’re doing great man but if I could give a little advice in order to get faster you have to go faster push yourself a little bit get out of that comfort zone and you’ll be surprised at how fast you can actually go and how much easier it is
I'm from the midwest but i live in the mountains of NC now, sold my 400ex (seemed like it didnt fit in) and taught myself to ride a dirtbike same as you except with mountains lol but that sand looks treacherous! lmao great job!
7th ride in a year !!!! thats what im talking about ...... MORE SEAT TIME 🤟🤟
Just hit 2.5hrs on mine today . If you think you're not a good rider. Hold my beer. Lol its a rough transition from quads but I am determined. 💪🏻💪🏻
Hey Mike, if you want to get really good come ride in northern NJ. The terrain up here is rough and it forces you to stand up and let the bike move under you. I’d be happy to host you if you wanted to make a trip. I’m about 2 hours from Philly.
19:07 When I corner, I lean the bike and keep my body upright while I'm forcing my weight down on to my rims so I know my bike won't slide out from under me 👌🏽
Throttle is your friend when leaning. Use the throttle to thrust you, it gives traction, if you don't give it too much and spin out.
Make your self a figure eight rut and keep riding it helps
I like the idea!
Your hands hurt cuz you may be using them too much. Position your body slightly fwd of you footpegs, and when you twist throttle, simultaneously move your body and head over the bars. You should be able to see the front number plate if you looked down.
Continue to squeeze with knees and feet, tight to the bike, balls of your feet until you use the controls.
It’s time for a graphics kit. 😀
is the kx 250x a easy bike to ride? is the bike good for trail rideing
Hey mike, being a newby that never rode a dirtbike. What would you say would be a good bike for someone like me? I saw you ride a yz250 the other episode. Would a 250 2 stroke be too much of a handfull for a begginer like you & me? I would like to do a winter project but not sure which bike to get. You inspired me to build a 400ex now i would like to build myself a dirtbike. I would like to know your input
Is there no national forest with single track trails near you?
Do you have an regular job on day time?
This in Delaware?
I believe he lives in PA somewhere
