Lyrics:
So close no matter how far
Couldn’t be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
And nothing else matters
Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don’t just say
And nothing else matters
Trust I seek and I find in you
Everyday for us something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters
Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
But I know
So close no matter how far
Couldn’t be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
And nothing else matters
Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
But I know
Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don’t just say
Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters
Never cared for what they say
Never cared for the games they play
Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
And I know
So close no matter how far
Couldn’t be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
No nothing else matters

Why would you be angry that someone covered a song? Y'all try too hard to be against pop music and end up making a fool of yourselves and this is coming from someone who has been listening to rock and metal for years.

Grande nicooooo
Elton's piano is just lovely. The song is pretty much flawless in all parts.
we don't talk about miley's low register enough
exactly!!! and her vibrato is crazy!
People don't even realise how low she's singing until they check because for her it's so natural and easy to sing and phrase in the lower third or upper second octaves
Exactly. People say shit about the way she talks and sings but she knows how to use it.
This is an authentic contralto voice. It's the lowest alto range & the highest tenors. Some people even consider a women's deep octaves a type of falsetto. Not sure I'd go that far, but here she pretty much sings from the bottom to the top of the contralto vocal spectrum. She also sings with a dropped soft palate, which accounts for the slightly nasal tone. Stevie Nicks has a similar construct to her singing, but Miley has more range & power.

I've always thought Miley was far more talented than people gave her credit for. The woman has CHOPS. You all did my favorite band proud. Miley, does your voice have range limits? You're incredible.

Yes, but also less talented than the dozens of female artists that get overlooked in favor of her because name recognition and money. People are lazy, the industry is lazy. The Stevie Nix meets Pat Benatar mix in her voice is so appealing
Little bit of Stevie Nicks going on there…
Her voice sounds like a guy who inhaled helium 😂😂😂
My understanding is that it accounts to throat surgery. But she does sound very impressive. Gotta hand it to her.
i went to see green day and she opened for them. made me really like her voice.
Queen of this generation
ua-cam.com/video/pLMvEQlEjXs/v-deo.html is this worthy?
@EVERY SINGER IS SO GOOD! LOL! shut up.
YAAAAAAS
True that my friend.
Yasss
Put your pride aside, this is an excellent cover. She pays tribute to the original and adds her own shit to it. Absolutely fantastic.
Why should you put pride aside. Miley is an incredible singer!
@@wirangzarder some people just tend to hate it..because Miley Cyrus sang it..without even hearing it..
@@beyondme9369 yeah but its a shame, because she is maybe one of the better singers of our time.
I want what you’re smoking
@@wirangzarder I can tell you don’t listen to very many artists
Are you fucking with me? MILEY'S VOICE IS KILLING ME, IT'S PRESSED, IT'S A ROCKSTAR 💗💗💗💗💗
yes bestie
2:28 She is punishing here.
Miley has found her spot I think. Only became a semi fan in recent years, but here, she is in her element. We need an album of hers like this.
Honestly, Mileys voice just keeps getting better, she’s on top of the world!
Miley just released another full performance of her cover from Cher with her Pride special which is on peacock this 25th of June but I am not even done with taking this Metallica cover in. This is massive, it can’t be diluted. This is like a spiritual awakening of some sort. This is powerful. I don’t know I’m just probably carried away by the cinematic capture of this song in a grand scale but it is how I feel when I’m here right now.
i know it sounds so powerfull
X2
I'm 42 years old and Metallica has been my heart band since 1983, maybe even before. I've heard all kinds of covers, all styles and different songs. I won't mention names so as not to be disrespectful, but this girl, until then unknown to me, interpreted the lyrics with her soul, in a way that very few (including rockers). hearing this was a real massage to the ears, soul and heart, everyone involved was absolutely perfect. as a Metallica fanatic, I am very grateful to see how this beautiful song was honored.
So you listened to Kill em All, a then very niche and underground album, as a 5 year old (maybe even younger) kiddo?
I listened to tracks recorded on tapes, which were sold in very underground stores here in São Paulo, there are many of these strongholds until today. my parents frequented these places and had access to all kinds of material. they were pretty eclectic but didn't like Metallica! I, unlike them, loved and reacted differently every time I listened to Metallica, I screamed, grunted, tried to imitate the sound, it was just like that with Metallica. my mother (now deceased) said I seemed to know what band it was. my first full-length album was MASTER OF PUPPETS. that LP (huge for a child) that I carried with all the delicacy not to scratch, along with a box of tapes, is one of the first memories of my life. I like other bands now, of course, but not as much as Metallica. too bad my son (14 years old) doesn't like it... oh yes, thanks for the "kiddo"! haha
You're 42 years old and you had never heard of Miley Cyrus before? Hmm okay.
@@Jogwheel I knew the name but not the voice and talent. I even remember an episode of "Black Mirror" in which she participated. I heard of the controversies, of course, but I was never interested in them. now, i've seen a hundred covers and i liked them all. her own material is not to my liking yet, but now I pay attention to everything she does.
@@James-Burton oh, okay - well that's different. I thought you had literally never heard *of* her... which just seems very unlikely. I can totally understand you not having listened to her deliberately before.
She did a pair of songs on Jimmy Fallon after Tom Petty died, "Wildflowers" and "No Freedom" that are also both excellent. Would recommend.
To my dying day I will love the original but this is just magnificent.
I love the fact that she's helping the new generations discover these masterpieces.
Not to be that person but if for newer generations Metallica doesn't ring a bell (through parents, relatives or the whole mainstream culture) specially from their most popular songs, well... i don't know what will do.
I was born in 1999 and I knew Metallica 😂
@@clementdousse-laude4985 2004 and ik all their songs. New generation is underrated.
Tbh this is the only version of the song I’m gonna listen to
@@clementdousse-laude4985hate to break it to you but you are no longer the new generation or even the second to new
Miley is such a queen. Her vocals are just insane in this cover. Wow!
ua-cam.com/video/6To2s_4Zs-g/v-deo.html Vibrant voice, she is a pure rocker. She nailed it.
I don't listen to Miley Cyrus I'm a die-hard Metallica fan but this was something truly amazing
You should listen to her "Wish You Were Here" cover 😊
I don't listen to Metallica, but this wasn't bad.
Miley is evolving. This is her time.
Same and indeed it was
Same here
No
She has the perfect voice for this track, the husky rock voice.. love everything about this track.
The Rock Reviver of this generation. argue with the wall.
Exactly
I'm a huge Metallica fan and this cover is on point... I dig it
This version serves as a daily reminder to keep an open mind, who would have thought her voice would be a perfect match for this classic? Outstanding.
Perfect
This is such a beautiful version ❤
The lyrics thoooo 😮😮😮 daaang her voice is just so powerful, isn't it?
ua-cam.com/video/tAGnKpE4NCI/v-deo.html
Metallica has always had the most powerful lyrics
this cover was absolutely art. it's astounding. miley's voice is better than it's ever been, and her talent and creativity is undeniable.
Genuinely impressed. She is way more talented than she's given credit for
This is such a perfect song for Miley; her voice just builds the mood.
