@@grantpitkethley8638 Yup. I know, but it was not called on the day and was simply awesome. With today’s rules, there was a nice high tackle as well, which were legal those days. Don’t sweat the small stuff, bud. Enjoy life for what is is with it’s ups and downs.
As a kiwi, i love watching and reminiscing about Jonah..............forever missed and loved by ALL rugby fans. BUT.......by far...the best try ever in a rugby game to date is the 1973 Gareth Edwards try against my beloved All Blacks. As a kiwi, we appreciate excellence in rugby, whatever the team be and this is the try for all time. Gareth, you were a legend and a gentleman. RIP and much Aroha (Love and respect to your family & friends) Big Jim (New Zealand).
I like the fact that some people have never some of these “masterpieces”. It is a new joy to some. The Barbarians bring happiness and enjoyment wherever they go.
There's a handful of the 70s tries that I'd never seen before - proper joyous rugby! Thanks for tracking them down and posting them - there's so much pre-professional era rugby that's been forgotten. You'd be doing the world a favour if you could find more and get it the attention it deserves.
Pleased to see that Cullen got a Babas try..... not enough made of how far he had to go and how fast to give him so much time to safely collect and dot down.
Love the last try on the video it proves how skillful the players of old were not just stamping and bludgeoned around the park, slight touches high speed and excellent skill that would fit in any top team of today !
Barbarian rugby is all about the free flowing game. There is no major competitions on the line, no sporting politics just rugby. It doesn’t matter if you lose by fifty points just play the game how it should be played.
You should try playing mate. It's the best sport with the best sportsmen and women in it. Give it a go. You will have a club close by and they will be very welcoming.
Of course the 1973 is the last to be shown because it is the best and will always remain so,not only for how it was scored but the who,s who of rugby at the time
The Barbarians are the last gasp of what rugby is about at top level. Never let it die.
Excellent video. All tries were great but that Gareth Edwards try is something special.
Are you crazy..it was a forward pass

The only thing "wrong" with that try was the pair of coathangers from the All Blacks. Embarrassing and so glad Edwards got the try.
Gareth Edwards is very much alive, fella!
The fact that it was scored against a great All Blacks side is one of the reasons why it is called 'The Try'.
This is what the world needs to see right now.
People coming together from different counties to share the pure love with no indifferences❤❤❤

The greatest team in the world!!
That Edwards try was something else!
The best I ever saw
O Yes what a try Gareth Edwards .LEGEND say no more...........
Watching these magical moments reminds me of what the REAL Beautiful Game is all about. Mesmerising footage from Men playing for the sheer JOY of it.

I watched that game on the BBC in '73 and I don't think I've ever seen a better team try than that. It is regularly voted the best try ever.

Miss watching Jonah rip
Lomu was toying with that poor lad
😂 that's our boy, RIP 🙏 ❤
JUGGERNAUT of an Era!
I miss the Australian lineup of barbarians. Come back down under bar bars
Wow.. champagne rugby from the babars.. 🎉..
Superb!
2018 was Radradra’s peak year
before he was playing for shitting english team!
just waiting for world 15 vs barbarians, the 1st try has to be among the best in modern era!
Love seeing Lomu and Nadolo in the same frame.
Joyous.
Cheers mun.
That bounce for Cullen had room service with it
2001: The Scottish defenders might have thought attempting a tackle on the steam train named Lomu would be futile
every good things has an end Yes but here the best is the end (Muppet Show old age )
'73 try still the best!
I d never watched rugby before but this was cool

2017❤
leaving the Welsh maestro to the last.

The pass to garth Edward's was a mile forward..they say it's one of the greatest scores in rugby history..terrible linesman error
Even when the Baa Baas loose, they win 🤷♂️
You'll never beat THAT try
Barbarian rugby is running rugby, so why don't England adopt this style with Marcus Smith at 10.
😂😂😂 and humans still watch the same ball 🏈, well banks rip off there life savings with inflation.😂😂😂
