I have it and happy with all you mentioned. Apart from aperture, and size (mounted on a m5), it's works excellent. It is not as sharp as 50mm but great optic. I would like to compare it with the pancake 24mm in terms of image quality.
Can you compare with the Canon rf 16mm f2.8? is that lens worth it for vlogging and work with client? something like Real Estate or Automotif video work. Thanks 🙏😀
Its a GREAT lens. Very lightweight but still superb image qaulity. The AF motor is also really nice and quiet. I havent tried vlogging with it (mostly shoot landscapes) but paired with my R8 its a great combo.
The only bad thing I’ve heard is because it’s more wide than the 17mm you get that jello rolling shutter effect when moving the camera around because it doesn’t have IS.
Hi does lens correction work when shooting jpeg? Im considering buying this lens with my r6 cause i saw someone selling it for 300 canadian so around 250 US
That’s a bargain if it’s in full working order then I would definitely grab that deal. Yes if you’re shooting in JPEG it auto fixes the vignetting and distortion for you. It’s only RAW that it doesn’t correct but Lightroom auto detects and corrects it anyway.
No sure who has decided views on that lens. I have been using the 17-40 since the mid 2000s and as a pro photographer I'd honestly say having using pretty much every l lens this is one of the best and sharpest l lenses of the range. Anyone who slates it don't know what there talking about....
I had no clue about the parfocal abilities, that’s a plus. I loved that it was internal zoom, price, and focal length. It’s a must have imo
Definitely, it’s the main lens I use for my A roll.

You really have the best looking review. Color is great and footage.
Why thank you I really appreciate it!
Love my 17-40 but it is only fully weather sealed with a filter attached, I think.

Genuinely want to pick up that lens due to the low aperture. I’m curious how it performs for astrophotography

@@MattRobbPhoto you're absolutely right, that's the only thing i'm complaing about
It would be quite good for the f1.8 to get that separation between the subject and the background though

@@MattRobbPhoto thank you… sometimes when u are just hanging out with friends its easier to just shoot jpeg and call it a day😂 anyway great video👍🏻
Thank you!
@@godz2928 I’m totally the type of person to shoot raw and go through each photo color grading and correcting them for hours in Lightroom 😂😅

hey how is it for cameras like canon eos rp which has no ibis. are the shakes really bad?
Honestly I haven’t used the RP so it’s hard to say
The hood serves a purpose
The reason it looks big its because it is big.
