I think the idea of moisturizing your skin before you spray comes from the fact that scents do last less long on dry skin, from my tests anyhow.
because the word "anyhow" is in the second row, I fast read it as "on elbow", ashy elbow tests kinda sound legit

Generally people who hate on Sauvage are people who are trying to gain credibility by pretending they are "above" the majority, who clearly enjoy the fragrance, hence its popularity.
There is a reason it is popular. I personally don't wear it as much anymore, but I just bought a new bottle a couple months ago, because it still deserves a spot in the collection

I think that's definitely a fair assessment, but personally I've always kinda just found it meh from the first time I smelt it before I was even into fragrances or knew what Sauvage was
I'm not a hater. I like it, but it has a overly synthetic smell that I'm not overly excited about. I thought it was a blue fragrance, but it's too sweet. I did just buy elixer.
Dior Sauvage is the Toyota of fragrances. It’s a great, first higher cost designer fragrance that’s a great workhorse, liked overall, and recognizable. People who hate on it are usually people jumping on the contrary hype train.

In terms of lotion in longevity, I don't experience any differences except when I wear a thin layer of vaseline jelly on the area that I'm gonna spray on. On my skin, the longevity improved and I wore it at 7pm, went on a wedding party, and I could still smell my fragrancce in the morning, along with my family members.
I was using Ferragamo F black for 8 sprays the night before, with a thin layer of vaseline.
After watching all those people over spraying cologne I have to say, I'm not going to do that.☠️
Never spray the hair.
For me moisturizer doesn’t really improve longevity however, it provides the right conditions for the fragrance to work. For example it would have evaporated quicker if my skin was dry and not moisturized.

Herod is such a good seductive fragrance, I’ve just got it and it’s amazing even without cherry in it, it smells in the opening like a vanilla cherry for probably 2 hours
Instead of smelling coffee beans I just smell the cloth on my shirt (an area with no fragrance on it) when I am testing different scents.

Roja recommends applying fragrances then lotion. His thoughts behind it sound legit to me. Also the 40 in wd 40 stands for how many trys they made to come up with the formula. Like 30 if the revisions were for fragrance.

For me, 8 sprays max (depending on the strength of the perfume), 4 is the go-to. For perfumes like Alexandria II by Xerjoff, 2 max 😂😂
I don't support buying fakes but I bought the Santal 33 counterfeit ($23) and it literally out performs the original. $23 is about all it's worth imo.

There is something really sad about these videos. At least Curly oversprays because she's appreciating the fragrance and she wants more of it, but those guys wasting a very expensive product... to me it seems like two things:
- overconsumption and/or commodity fetishism has really degraded human character and the quality of humor
- "I just sprayed 3 bucks" for nothing... to me that means unsubscribe. 3 bucks could be a meal to some kid in a poor country. So... just displaying that is crappy behavior in my books.

I'll never, and I mean NEVER do more than 2-4 sprays (depending of time, season and occasion): 1-2 for each armpit.. and maybe one to the cheast (optional).

That coffee bean "study" is a tad flawed. I wont get into all of it, however; the idea is to use them, or anything else, to reset when sampling similar fragrances. Mainly ones with citrus/ fruity heavy top notes. But mall stores took it to a different level apparently.

It shows a chemist using organic chemistry to produce a fragrant ingredient. It just gives a glimpse into the process of making fragrance ingredients via a synthetic route rather than using natural extraction.
Yes the organic chemistry involved in fragrances and flavors is fascinating!!! I would totally go back to college for this stuff if I could! I just started my perfumes(colognes) journey a few months ago and have tried close to 70 fragrances, and bought 20 bottles over the few months! Thanks for the link
