Once I been to Dubai nin search of Job from India (couldn't place myself anywhere) on the last day I visited him and told I need a perfume but I'm not having much to afford your products. He made two full bottles of perfume and called me saying take these and go to your family. He never charged me a penny and those free bottles are still with me. If business alone the motive he would have not done this. He got many hearts through his heart ❤️
This man is a maestro in chemistry. How the hell can someone understand the chemical composition by just smelling something. Extremely talented and one of a kind.
Obviously he's not going to get it 100% right, but who cares as long as it smells good and it's like 20-30 usd to closely imitate something that costs 400 usd

Or you could simply chemically analyze the older perfumes and determine exact recipes. Perfumes can be complicated with the amount of components but you could still do that.
They make fragrance clones ALL the time. thats why a majority of small shop perfumeries sell their own. They buy the concentrated oils and then make clones or their own to upsell. On fragrantica they give all of the different oils and stuff used so making them would be relatively easy with the right tools.
True, but that perfume should not be used just stored away and smelt once a year to preserve the memories associated with it or they will easily get associated with the current time if we start using them and the older memories will slowly diminish or get replaced

Yusuf is such an amazing perfumer. I have visited him in 2019 and I have purchased his niche perfume recreations that I already own which have cost me £££££'s and i'm telling you his creations are far more superior. I was followed by people asking me what i was wearing. He also made me a fragrance of my dreams. I told him what i liked and scents that trigger my fondest memories and he trapped it all in a beautiful bottle. Yusuf us an humble and funny person too!

He is not just creating fragrance, he is invoking & maintaining memories through his work. My parent has worn the same fragrance for almost all of, at least, my life with her, and I can only associate the scent with safety, warmth & love because of it. Even if it is a more feminine scent, I want to be able to bring it forth in my own home when she inevitably has to move on one day. Being able to use your senses to once again detect the "presence" of a lost loved one is so powerful.
Man, I bet he's probably one hell of a taste tester as well. It's nice to see someone being great at something we overlook the impact of. Smell is so linked to memory it's a joy to know that this guy helped someone refresh theirs of a loved one's scent. That is a gift for him and his customers. Awesome.
Yousuf bhai in Dubai and Kareem bhai from Al Kareem perfumes in bangalore India are really masters. They have a pretty trained nose and they both are my perfumers who can recreate any perfumes like Kareem bhai mixes a legend blend and same as yousuf bhai.. Both generous and masters..
To think that certain ingredients can change when introduced with others. Some will age differently over a span of weeks or decades, some can change completely. And that's not yet even talking about the layers of a scent. This man's nose and brain can work backwards from a certain scent. Imagine a VERY complex cocktail. But every time you stir it, the ingredients separate themselves into individual components. This is the best analogy i can come up with on what Yusuf does through sheer experience, knowledge and craft. Truly amazing

And he's still turning a profit. The cost of juice itself is incredibly cheap to make. Like movie theater popcorn. Costs them 10 cents to make, they sell it to you for 12 bucks.
I gave it a dislike because I don't really believe this, even the guy reaction after smelling the perfume didn't seem legit. It's not possible to make a 100% similar perfume in few second, at least let the perfume dry to see how the smell turn into
Fascinating !! It has been over three decades since I visited Kerala. The intensity of the state is overwhelming. It lingers, long after one leaves the place. Much like the perfumes this gentleman creates and gratefully attributes to his native land, Kerala.
My first fragrance was Midnight Poison (Dior). Sadly I can't find anymore in the malls and when I go online I find very overpriced products that aren't even guaranteed to be the same actual fragrance and not a random cheap fragrance in a midnight poison bottle.
I keep my grandmother's perfume since 1998, and only use it in important occasions, or when I'm missing her until my heart ackes. This Christmas I noticed the smell is different, but fortunately, I still remember her smell. I wish one day I can visit this gentleman, to ask him to make her perfume, so I can smell her for the rest of my life. I miss you, grandma!
probably has the ingredients written down somewhere. it would be difficult to be doing that by nose when you've got a million different smells on your arm.
I also have a perfume that my sister and I loved when she was alive that has been discontinued and I also NEED it in my life. I can imagine how happy that woman was ♥️

There used to be a Indian guy at the mall. He was very learned. He picked a fragrance for me that was citrus based. Turns out that other fragrances I cant wear because they break down. There is a lot to perfume. I admire this man, the guy at the mall, and people like him.

In the perfume business these kind of guys are called as the 'Nose'....they can smell something and immediately tell what is present in the perfume and exactly reconstruct the same.... amazing ability....

There are no memories in my life that are so vivid as the smells I once was surrounded by in my childhood. Every time a similar fragrance is in the air, It feels so nostalgic, and I can remember all my memories so clearly.
Same here. I hardly forget people's scents or fragrances. I tested a fragrance today and it reminded me of my first grade teacher...I was in the first grade some 21years ago.
£14 uk pounds to make that bottle... I would say its worth so much more as this man and his knowledge is incredible... Absolutely amazing to see a man not only happy in his job but very very good at it... It is seeing things like this that make me shy away even more from big companies because its the small business that really make the difference not just in cost but memories....
Thats nothing , my uncle had a parfume he loved , yet it got discontunued. I still have the bottle with the tiniest amout left . If I ever go to dubai , defo getting a few bottles ...
The perfume he makes is much more better than the original, because he make it personally. That's more original than the original. This guy should create a perfume that nobody ever smell off
I got two custom made perfumes from here in March of 2019. Two years later and it still smells the same. The guy told me to put it in the fridge for 2-3 days to make it last longer. I do that and it has worked well.
Impressive! There are many talented people like this in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. They just need the right opportunities to develop their skills. I'm glad to see this good man's success

You gave him one of the most mainstream colognes out there. You should've tested him with a more complex fragrance. Even though it is truly impressive.
Smells are the more powerful way to bring back dead memories or or keep alive the fading ones. Its feels like travelling back in time and reliving those moments again.
He does, as he said, the oil will be more concentrate, which mean stronger and last longer. And I think you can also ask him to emphasize certain note, I think he would be able to make it more suitable to one's liking.

I had purchased an oily perfume alcohol free called Wisal, Arabic. It's been 3 years I haven't found it again tho searching it like crazy. The same bottle I purchased is already consumed, there is only around 30% of what the bottle used to hold. Had rarely used it. Went 2 years without applying it until a week ago.. The smell brought me flashback of my memories . I loved the story he gave about the lady holding the perfume bottle.of her mother with preciousness It's indeed very True. I wish I could afford to travel there

There used to be a Indian guy at the mall. He was very learned. He picked a fragrance for me that was citrus based. Turns out that other fragrances I cant wear because they break down. There is a lot to perfume. I admire this man, the guy at the mall, and people like him.

I got two custom made perfumes from here in March of 2019. Two years later and it still smells the same. The guy told me to put it in the fridge for 2-3 days to make it last longer. I do that and it has worked well.

He does, as he said, the oil will be more concentrate, which mean stronger and last longer. And I think you can also ask him to emphasize certain note, I think he would be able to make it more suitable to one's liking.
