- I’ve been thinking about all the different Class B layouts out there, and come to the realization that there are really very few design options available to the Class B buyer.
There is only so much space in a cargo van, and this space can’t be enlarged or shifted around, so RV designers have limits on what they can do with Class B floor plans.

Robert, this is an EXCELLENT presentation for people to understand that you can have any number of slices in a 12 inch pizza, but, it's still TWELVE INCH pizza 🍕....
Our Roadtrek Adventurous has the same layout as the Coachmen Beyond 22 C with the lounge/folding sofa in the rear.
You're right, it's all about how you use the van. And, your explanation to people is clear and concise.
I tell people that when we travel, we just figure on what we need and don't need and take less....If you find later that you need something then just buy it on the road.
Our journeys have taken us over 45,000 miles and it's never been any problem to just stop and get what we needed... I don't worry about that. As far as I'm concerned, sleeping comfort, driving dynamics and fuel economy are the largest factors in a campervan. The galley and the bathroom are always small in a Class B motorhome. We prep meals ahead of time and just use the stovetop for heating things up or use the microwave convection oven. I've seen some old vans with a conventional oven from the 70s and 80s.. they take up a lot of space and are horribly inefficient. Our convection oven really works and we can heat up a meal in a small space just like a conventional oven, so, this newer technology is fantastic. I really appreciate that.
As you said, it's all about choices.

Thanks for the comments! Now I want a 12 inch pizza!! 😅
I love the lounge in the back type of layout... it has a very open feel.
Be seeing you!
The 12-inch Pizza analysis is good. This is the size you get, now let’s discuss the toppings.
Maybe the future is modular!!!
I believe there is a company named VanDoIt that does something modular... too utilitarian looking for me, but it would definitely fit someone's lifestyle! Thanks for commenting!
