Looking for info on how to sharpen a knife correctly and quickly. Stumbled upon this video that promises sharp knives within minutes. Darn, I must be the only soul on this planet without several belts or heavy machinery at home.....
I recomend you get some whetstones if you dont have already, its probably the best way to sharpen a knife withoit removing too much metal or damaging the blade. There honestly really isnt a quick way to sharpen knives without some sort of belt sander.
1x32 belt machines can be had for $50 or less...or more. Sharpens everything in moments. Beats doing kitchen knives monthly,. Axes, knives, lawn mower blades.. worth the $50 for a 1x32 cheapo
Oh, and he has LOTS of Mora sharpening videos using stones as well. Personally, before I got the 1x32 belt sander, I used 150, 220, 400, 600 grit automotive sandpaper and 3m spray adhesive to an old piece of glass for scandi grinds.. quick, simple and easy
I have a few Moras but I don't have your expert knowledge of sharpening. Those sheaths are perfect!! Love hearing pops working with you in the shop at the beginning of the vid, reminds me of the shop class in high school ❤ Great memories. Excellent job Kyle !!!
Looks great Kyle!!! Great job on that mora !!! It's awesome that you have made those sheaths for the mora now . Great informative video as always Kyle! Take care and stay safe my friend !!!!
I’ll be honest. I was skeptical when I started your video. But I was immediately humbled. Those edges are exactly what I love about knives. Scandi grind has always been my favorite. They just stand out. And man those sheaths. Bro come on! I don’t see how they could be any bit better. You did a phenomenal job on those. That dangler has me considering my options man. I’m a landscaper and gave my first mora kniv on its way soon to be here. I kinda feel like I’m gonna need the dangler. Seems like the sheath it comes with is gonna be “ stuck” to my side via my belt and that’s gonna be a problem with how much I get in and out of trucks all day. The knives just dangling seems like a much better idea. Anyhow. Bro great work. I’m impressed. That belt grinder is a damn tool for this kind of work. Thanks man !!
Sheaths are gorgeous but I really like the plastic sheath on a Mora. I love that if you lose it, you can replace the knife *and* the sheath for just £12.
That's a nice looking sheath! As most swedes I have plenty of mora knifes, atleast one in each drawer throughout the household xD -it is allot of knife for very little money, but what they lack, even the higher price range (have not seen or tried the new stainless line with leather sheathing yet) is a proper sheath, it's all loud plastic that does wear out within a year, then you loose your knife in the wilds and have to fillet your trout with your fingers xD
These are great . I'm sure they would fit alot of my knives , one of those mora blanks to put a nice curly maple handle on it .that would be nice looking .
i saw your sharpening vids on scandi since a moment and sharpened today my first mora 1/0 (the bisel isnt very shiny and not totally coherent but it cut like hell even on kitchen paper or toilet paper) using suehiro cerax 1000, 3000(new),6000,8000 (snow white) and strop i have to learn better but im happy. thanks and continue
Those are beautiful looking leather sheaths...but my Mora is a fishing knife and it is constantly wet, so the plastic sheath is perfect for it. But having said that maybe another one for hunting?
I’ve also taken that step and made several sheaths for some of my Moras. Although their sheaths are really good and quite useful. Thanks it’s hard to beat Moras for the price!
@@edwardwaldner6899 Ken Onion Work Sharp mini belt sharpener with 5 grades of 1" belts. I sent knives to Kyle to sharpen including my Leatherman Wave that was featured last week. I tried to sharpen it on it.
@@edwardwaldner6899 No but I would find that easier. My apprenticeship was done on a 3” x 72” belt with a 10” contact wheel and a 7 horsepower 3 phase motor. The work sharp doesn’t compare, but it’s cheap.
@@AndrexT I agree for commercial use that isnt a viable option. I do about 10 knives and a couple scissors a week on mine and its almost at its limit. I was just wondering if you used the original attachment on it to sharpen your leatherman
Appreciating the new Starlink Kyle, thank you for your efforts to continue sharing with us. 🙏 Great to see your Dad in the background too. Most of my utility and Camp knives are Marttiini. More for the money and better edge out the box. My wife uses a Marttiini Big Lynx as her BBQ knife. Doesn't matter if you need to slice steak, lobster or sticks, it does the lot. My favourite is my Ranger, or maybe my Full Length Tang CB which is the only knife I've seen them make with a hollow grind and micro bevel. After years of watching masters like you and lots of practice I take all my blades to a mirror edge, even the Lawnmower Blades. What geometry I put now depends on the blade and it's job. The Scandi grind suits my tough Puukko blades, my skinny little pocket knife gets a convex, kitchen knives all get a micro bevel, all terms I didn't know or understand properly until you explained and demonstrated them so well in your vids 👍 Thank you so much for your time 👍 Best wishes to all your family 🙏
Excellent job sharpening that customer's knife, Kyle. I love that your now offering premium leather sheaths for Morakniv knives, btw. Will your new sheaths fit the Garberg?
Always love watching your videos, Kyle. And the Mora sheaths look fantastic. I already have leather for all of my Moras, but maybe I'll by another one so that I can justify one of your sheaths. Do you have any plans for a cross-draw? Also, have you earned your ham radio license, yet? Would enjoy trying for a Newfoundland contact some time.
Where the frack is the edge retention test? It doesn't mean a damn thing if a blade can't hold an edge. Now, go and beat that blade against a granite bolder.
@@kyle_noseworthy no worries. Just some folding knives and one big mora. But I’ll just slowly replace with knives from you . I want more heirloom knives ! Cleaver , craftsman , and a good filleting knife
Pffft!!….. In minutes? Firstly; purchase a $5000 industrial belt sander Secondly; Build a suitable shed or garage to accommodate sander arriving next month.
I enjoy your videos, Kyle but IMHO, anyone who actually *USES* a blade every day should know how to sharpen and care for it. Are your major customers simply dilletantes? (Asking for a friend.)

We have some good talks buddy. I'm spoiled now with having him there. Its always pretty lonely on the days he's out of town
Those sheaths are really nice. I really dig the shape of them. I've never worn a dangler before but I've always liked the idea.
The dangler really has its benefits, although some people don't like the movement. Preference!
You do such great work, Kyle. Always a pleasure.
Kyle the dangler sheath looks awesome , everything from the color to the stitching are top notch. There will be one in my collection in the future.
Real nice Kyle , so good to see your dad working away in the background

It cracks me up the facial expressions you make only when you are coming in to the belt! And that’s because I do the same thing when concentrating

Which sharpener are you talking about specifically? I'm just curious

Great to see a Mora working knife for everyday use sharpening video. My Mora is a garden knife nothing more...
Beautiful sheaths 😊
First time watching your videos. Really nice work!
I watched your Mora knife video from 5 years ago. No power tools! 😊
Nice work Kyle.
Mora knives are very quick and easy to sharpen on a stone and very easy to strop.
Thanks for the video Kyle.
Speaking of sheaths, I really enjoy carrying my Bakeapple in the magnetic pocket sheath that originally came with my MKM Makro
Is the belt going away or leading?
Darn nice sheaths, Kyle!🤜🤛
do you do mail in custom sharping
You are really skilled brotha. I’ll stick to the stones
very cool thank you!
Very nice sheaths
Great vid Kyle as always question for you will a mora garberg fit in those sheaths as well? Thanks
I believe so, yes!
Really Nice Job
Great to know you have left hand carry sheaths. The 1 dissapointment I have with my mora.
There are definitely some limitations there with the factory setup!
Excellent job sharpening that customer's knife, Kyle. I love that your now offering premium leather sheaths for Morakniv knives, btw. Will your new sheaths fit the Garberg?
Yes they will!
The shealths are awesome. I'm a small youtuber in Thailand. Do you ship to Thailand?

Looks very good Kyle. I also like the new sheath as well.
Hi nice sheaths !
Are you from Eastern Canada? You definitely sound like it. Cape Breton here.
If my mora ever makes it to you or me again I will buy the sheath lol
I need a belt sander 😮
😊👊⭐️
No edge retention was accomplished during the making of this video. Just kidding hahaha. Good job. I’m enjoying my hankies lol
Other awesome video
Sweet ...
Wicked!
Great looking sheaths!

So you just need a specialist machine workshop and expert knowledge, huh? Yeah, easy peasy.
Man can show us how to sharpen a knife by just using sandpaper by hand
The new moras with riveted wood handles are expensive
My mora is stuck in Toronto customs
Oh no!
@@kyle_noseworthy no worries. Just some folding knives and one big mora. But I’ll just slowly replace with knives from you . I want more heirloom knives ! Cleaver , craftsman , and a good filleting knife
I'd like to be able to see the edge, but the video quality is less than stellar....

Firstly; purchase a $5000 industrial belt sander

Why all the work on a $10 Mora knife ??????
Why not?
Get out of my left ear!
How to ruin your knife. Thanks for the tips.
I enjoy your videos, Kyle but IMHO, anyone who actually *USES* a blade every day should know how to sharpen and care for it.

Sure, because everyone has a machine like this to sharpen their knives 🙄
